Freya looked up into Luke's face as he stood close to her, concern marred his features and she felt her heart swell at how much he cared for her.
"I don't have anywhere to go right now, Salma is the only person that I can stay with, but she is living with her husband and kid, and they only have two rooms in their house."
"You can stay with Gwen, I will call her and let her know you are coming." He pulled his phone from his slacks's pocket to call Gwen, but Freya stopped him.
"Are you sure that's okay? I don't want to impose on her." She asked unsure, she was afraid Gwen would think that she's being too forward in their friendship, and she has never been to her house.
"You won't be imposing. She's my little sister, she has to agree with me, but apart from that, she admires you and will be excited to have you stay with her." He assured her with a smile while she looked shocked.
"You are saying that you and Gwen are siblings? How comes I never knew? But it makes sense now since you have the same last name."
"Yes, we are step siblings. Her mom married my dad after my parents divorced when I was about five years old, and they gave birth to Gwen a year later. My mom also got remarried and visits me during holidays."
"I'm so sorry about the divorce, I didn't know." She squeezed his hand reassuringly, and watched as he dialled Gwen's number on his phone telling her Freya needs a place to stay for a while and that they would be going over immediately.
"We're all good, let me help you pack." He said as he grabbed a small suitcase by her dresser and laid it on the floor, zipping it open.
"Thank you, I'm really grateful to you and Gwen." She opened her drawers and closet, pulling out the clothes she wanted to pack and laying them on the bed. Luke took the clothes on the bed and started arranging them inside the suitcase neatly.
She also packed some jewelry, shoes, toiletries and few handbags in a duffel bag. She zipped the duffel bag shut while he zipped the suitcase shut, and they both stood up. He grabbed the suitcase from the floor and the duffel bag from her hands and headed out of the room. She followed him, but stopped when he stopped at the front door and turned around to make sure she was going to be alright.
She nodded as he watched her, he then turned back around and opened the door letting them walk out. She glanced at Dr. David's house, but he was no where to be found. She locked the door with her keys while Luke waited for her. They walked to his car, a white Ferrari and climbed in. They had agreed that he would come back for her car and drive it Gwen's for her.
"Nice ride! How many cars do you have? You came with a mustang the last time." Freya was amazed at his beautiful cars, she was fascinated with them and loved them. She glanced at him and saw him smile a little.
"I'm glad you are impressed. For how many cars I have, I need to think... three, two, four?" He said playfully as he drove them out of the area. She let out a giggle, feeling calmer and better than she did earlier.
"I have this, the mustang, a limo, and a Lamborghini, so four cars."
"Wow, that's really impressive, but I can't expect any less from the CEO of Stark. It's a very big company and makes millions every year, so I can see how you became a millionaire."
"Is that okay with you? Dating a millionaire and CEO?" He asked her suddenly sounding concerned. She was surprised at his question, who wouldn't want to date a millionaire? A hot, caring, millionaire at that.
"That's more than okay with me. I fell in love with your soul and character, not your status in life. I don't care if you are rich, even though at first I thought that you were just an ordinary guy, and now that I know you are not, it hardly changes anything." She gave him a small smile and he seemed relieved.
"The women from my past relationships have had a difficult time adjusting to the attention they get from the media for dating a millionaire even though some of them dated me just for that, they end up getting exposed for something bad they have done.
I know that soon, the media will know about you too and will try to get some dirt on you. But don't worry, I'll protect you from anything they might try to pin against you." He removed one hand from the steering wheel and held her hand, intertwining their fingers and rubbing the back of her hand with his thumb reassuringly.
"Is Percy among those women?"
"No, her dad works with the press, so they didn't try going against her. She cheated on me with Finn, and I'm so glad she did because if she hadn't done that then I wouldn't have known what a horrible person she is and I wouldn't have gotten the chance to date you."
"Her loss, and the media can try what they can, but they can't tear us apart." He glanced at her adoringly, a wide smile playing on his lips.
"You are so confident, that's one of the things that drew me to you."
"One of the things? What are the other things?" She asked raising both eyebrows, he glanced at her then at the road.
"A lot of things, I'll tell you another time, we've reached Gwen's house." He stopped the car in front of a house on the right and released her hand. They both stepped out of the car.
He took her suitcase and duffel bag from the car and they both walked to the door of the house. It looked ordinary, painted white with a brown door and a trimmed lawn, it looked almost like hers with only some difference. They rang the doorbell and in a few minutes, Gwen answered the door.
