Dr. David stopped in his tracks and cocked his head to the side, "I have been waiting for you, Freya, and now that you're here, you'll come with me."
"I'm not going anywhere with you, l didn't break our deal again, so you can stop following me."
"Oh, I won't stop, I'll never stop until you're mine and I have you completely under my control." He smiled his fake smile widely.
"Leave me alone." She said through gritted teeth, but he grabbed her arm. She wrenched it from his grip and glared at him.
"There are people here, look around the parking lot. They can talk, and you can't afford to have this many people witnessing who you really are because you know it'll be hard to get them all to shut up." She shot at him, knowing full well she was right.
He looked around the parking lot and saw how there were many people there, some coming out of the building while some were standing by their car watching their exchange.
He stepped back a few steps, scoffing, "Fine, since I can't make you leave with me, you have to stop living with that CEO and stay away from him."
"You can never make me do anything, and you can never have me!"
"I'll have you, no matter what I have to do or who I have to kill." He gave her a chilling smile before he turned and walked back to his car.
Freya lifted her hands to her forehead and messaged it then ran one hand through her hair. She let out a breath and climbed into her car trying not to remember that night Dr. David broke into her room. She started the car and drove home.
Freya and Luke walked into Betty's holding hands and sat at a table for four. It was 2.47pm, and Percy hasn't arrived yet. They had misjudged the time they would reach the diner.
"Do you want to order anything before she arrives?" Luke asked her turning to look at her.
"No, I just want to meet and get over with it." She said just as Percy walked into Betty's and walked up to their table.
She removed her sunglasses and yelled, "What is she doing here, Luke? I thought this was a date?"
He stood up, "It's not a date, but you would definitely want to know why we called you here."
"I'm not staying when she's here!" She turned around and started walking away.
"Sit down Percy or everyone will know about your secret relationship with Nick Carter." His statement made her stop in her tracks and turn back around.
She sat down and placed her designer bag and sunglasses on the table, "How did you know? What do you want?" She asked sounding anxious as he also sat back down.
"It doesn't matter how we know, but what we want is for you to clear Freya's name since you were the one that gave out the gossip on her through Nick."
"Not going to happen, after I had him give out information without any proof she's a real gold digger, how could I make him withdraw what he said?"
"Then we'll just have to hand your dirty secret to the media, and you won't be able to do anything about it because of Luke's connection." Freya said coldly.
"Huh? You dare to threaten me?"
"Yes, she dares to."
"Fine, I'll tell him to tell the media that it's false news."
"Not just that, you'll also tell them that I will be marrying Freya soon and she's a hardworking lawyer that doesn't care about my money or status."
"No way. How can you marry her after all I've done for you?"
"Do as we say or secret gets out."
"Fine, but don't marry her yet." Freya looked at Percy like she had a few screws loose because how can she even tell Luke not to marry her?
"Percy, you have no right to ask that from me. Call Nick now in front of us and after that don't ever come close to us again."
Percy nodded glaring at Freya as she brought out her phone from her bag and told Nick what they wanted her to say.
"Good, we don't want to hear from you ever again." He said standing up, Freya stood up too and he took her hand as they walked out.
"How do I look?" Freya asked Luke as she entered the dining room. She was wearing a white dress that was formal, yet loose. It had short sleeves and a slightly low back.
His mom, dad and Gwen's mom were coming for dinner to meet Freya because his mom didn't agree to meet at his dad's house or anywhere else, but there since Gwen's mom will be with them. He looked her over and smiled, "Beautiful as always."
"Luke, are you sure this dress is elegant enough to meet your parents for the first time?" He stepped closer to her and placed his hands on her waist.
"You look as elegant as the most elegant swan." He pressed a kiss on her forehead, and she laughed.
The doorbell rang, and they separated before they made their way to the door. Luke opened it to reveal his mom, Debby Ray, dad, Jack Walters, and Gwen's mom, Iris Walters.
They came in and Freya greeted them along with Luke, "Oh my, you're so beautiful." Iris complimented as she hugged Freya.
"It's nice to finally meet the girl that always takes Luke's time." Jack admired as he shook her hand.
"Nice to meet you, Freya, is it?" Debby said in a tight uncomfortable voice, not attempting to go close to Freya like the others have done. Freya felt disappointed that Luke's mom didn't seem excited to see her, but she nodded her head and kept smiling.
"Yes, mom. Isn't it she pretty?" Luke asked trying to make Debby like Freya. Debby only nodded musing.
He looked disappointed too, but ushered them all into the dining room. Several trays of food were arranged on the table looking enticing. They all sat down, Luke let Jack sit at the head of the table, Iris and Debby sat close to him while Luke and Freya sat opposite each other with Freya close to Debby and Luke close to Iris.
Freya served the food on everyone's plate, and they started eating. "Did you make this?" Debby asked her while dipping some chicken in gravy sauce with her fork.
"I made the chicken and gravy sauce with the salad and citrus fruits juice, but the rest, the maids made them."
"It's very good, but I have to ask, why are you living with my son when you are not married yet? I know many people in this age live without marriage, but I'm sure he told you how both mine his father's family are old fashioned and we have our reputation to uphold too." Debby said sounding unhappy as she looked between Freya and Luke.
Luke had told her all that and how Debby was a big fashion designer and how Jack was also a millionaire with his own business company. Luke didn't only become a millionaire on his own, but he was also born a millionaire. Jack could hand over his company anytime he felt like retiring, and that would make Luke a billionaire.
Since Debby didn't know Freya's situation, she understood how Debby could view her as a gold digger especially after the recent E! Entertainment came out. She was sure Debby saw it since she was a celebrity.
Freya had been trying to buy another house on sale, but Luke reasoned with her that Dr. David could also break in there since he also broke into Gwen's house, and staying with him was the safest option for her at the moment.
"I asked her to stay here, and I want to marry her." Luke intervened, and Debby looked surprised.
"You've only known her for a few months ago." Jack said looking at Luke with a firm gaze.
"Yes, our relationship is serious, and Freya is the best woman I've ever met." He said looking into Freya's eyes and she looked down when she saw his gaze.
"I'm happy to hear that you've found a woman that suits you well, I never quite liked that Percy." Debby said and Iris agreed by nodding.
"As long as you're happy with her, I'm happy too." Jack said and resumed eating his food.
"Gwen told me all about you and how you're the top lawyer at your firm." Iris said and lifted the cup of juice to her lips sipping it.
Debby looked impressed at the new information. "Really?"
"Yes, that's what our boss, Lydia says. Gwen is also a great lawyer."
"Oh, I know." Iris said, and Debby said with a small smile, "That's very impressive."
Luke smiled too, and Freya felt relieved that Debby was starting to come around to liking her.
"What about your parents?" Debby asked cutting into the baked salmon.
"They passed away last year."
Debby's face softened, "I'm sorry, dear."
Jack and Iris said their condolences too, and they continued their dinner with all three of them asking Freya questions about her life. She answered as confidently as she could to make them like her. They left after dinner and Luke and Freya escorted them to their cars.
"How did I do?" Freya asked Luke after they came back inside. He grinned at her and caressed her cheek, "You were magnificent."
She smiled up at him as he stared into her eyes.
