The False Blame

"They're a lot more refreshing than Clara." Freya said to Luke as they entered the living room.

"Tell me about it." He muttered back with a smile.

As she turned to him with her lips parted to start talking, she saw Jack dragging Iris with him to walk to them. He had a smile on his face, but it was obvious, Iris didn't want to meet them with a frown on her face. More specifically, her. When Luke noticed her attention drawn to behind him, he turned around to see his parents approach.

"Hey, Luke, Freya. How are you and our sweet, little, Alice?" Jack said as he smiled even broader at them, still holding Iris's elbow.

"Hey dad, Alice is great." Luke answered as his grip on her waist tightened as he saw Iris's expression.

"Hi, we're fine and Alice misses you." Freya gave her answer, smiling widely as she looked at Iris warily.
