Chapter 2

She could feel her cheeks heat up as she remembers how her morning start. A groaned from her lips caused her to fluttered those brown eyes open and was instantly met with golden orbs from the person beside her. She quickly scrambled away but ended up falling from the bed. A deep, soft laugh escaped from her now-husband lips as he stood up and helped her from the ground.

She grumbled from the pained that her bottom had to endure and took his hands to stand up. "Thank you…" she replied softly, making Kai looked at her with mischief eyes. He gently grazed her cheek with his left hand, trailing his fingertips down to her jawline and finally her collarbones.

Suddenly a laugh came out from him as he saw her face became cherry red, making the girl quickly run away from him to the bathroom as the maid door was baffled at the new Queen antics. She raised her eyebrow at the King making him grin widely.

"She's gonna run away from you one day my lord…" the maid replied with a soft smile.

"I doubt that Mina," he replied back as he went to get ready as well, letting his new but timid wife cool down.

Shaking her head, she bit down her bottom lip, feeling frustrated at her husband. Mina, the maid who is in charge of her, shake her head with a gentle smile on her face. Letting the Queen calm down her nerves with the tea, she could feel pride from her chest as she enjoys the tea that she made.

"The King has always been playful ever since he was young. Unlike his other siblings who are uptight, the King has always used his playful side to relieved his tensions or stress my lady. I hope you don't take offend in his antics." Mina reply while bowing down softly, afraid that she may anger the Queen.

Hearing her words, Yukino becomes curious about how the King really is. Turning to the maid, she pats the chair beside her, asking the maid to seat beside her.

"Tell me, Mina, about him. Anything," she said, making the maid smile as she took her seat beside the Queen.

"Well, as a child, the King has always loved flowers. In fact, this garden was made by him for your information my lady," she said causing Yukino to gasp in awe from it.

"Being the only child from the previous Queen of Nagisa, he was always lonely. But he found the company in his elder brother, Prince Shu, who was the eldest son of the King mistress, Kaguya. His father has 3 mistresses. The first one is Lady Kaguya. The second one is Lady Sana and the last one is Lady Hina. And it's best if you avoid the third lady." she replied.

Just as Yukino was about to reply, a woman suddenly appears. Red robe covers her body as the blue kimono wrap around her, making her look like a Queen. Gold pins secured her jet black hair as her icy blue eyes found their way towards her brown one. Overall she looks quiet dress for this humid day. And who wouldn't it be if it isn't the Third Misteress, Lady Hina.

"Well, well…if it isn't Queen Yukino. I must say, you look far more beautiful than what the King said. It's no wonder why you know as the fairest in Flurio." she said with a smile on her face. With a wave of her hand, all of her lady in waiting, including Mina left the Third Misteress and Yukino alone in the garden.

"May I..?" she asked while pointing at the seat. Helping her sit and pouring the tea in the other cup, Yukino gave her a small smile in return while sipping her tea. She has to admit, the Third Misteress look very young. With her sun-kissed skin, red bloody lips, hair black as the night and soft as the silk and body with the perfect curves including icy blue eyes.

But behind every appearance lies the true face of a person. And she could feel the Third Misteress have an ugly side of herself as well.

"We used to stroll in the garden before his marriage. Kai was extremely happy to show me his flowers and the garden that he built." Lady Hina reply as she hid her smile behind the cup. Yukino tries to remain unfazed by her words, munching on the cookies in the plate instead.

Putting down her tea, Lady Hina looks at her with those icy cold blue eyes. "I heard that you are older than Kai, is it true…?" she asked.

"Yes, my lady. But 2 years if I'm not mistaken…" she replies softly, giving the woman a tight, small smile.

Lady Hina hums softly while looking around the garden. "A woman who is older than her husband…in exchange for her hands was an army. I wonder if you will be able to produce an heir for the King… Interesting.." she replies with a small smile that hides much meaning.

The cup that Yukino was holding suddenly drop on the floor as the pieces scattered all around her feet. This causes lady Hina to scream, making all her ladies-in-waiting including Mina to run to the scene. "I'm so sorry! My hand must have slipped." Yukino reply, worry and nervous could be seen from her eyes.

"It's quite alright my lady. Bring Lady Hina to her room and let me clean up this mess." Mina reply. Yukino stands behind Mina as she watches the Third Misteress walks out. Unknown to them, blood drips down her right palm as it stains her sleeves. She wanted to yell, scream that she never wanted this marriage. That her kingdom will do just fine to defend themselves.

But alas, cowardness still lives inside of her heart. Suddenly she feels someone uncurl her right fist, hissing as the person gently touch her wound. "Get some bandages Mina." the voice said as Mina nod and run to get some bandages.

She turns around and there Kai golden orbs look at her. His gaze was sharp as if he is looking at her soul. He may be young, but he was far taller than her. Stronger than her. And more powerful than her, making her feel so little at this time.

"Keep your chin up Yukino. Do not let your crown fall," he reply, making her heart flutter at his words. A small smile grazes her lips as she finally looks at him.
