Funeral Rites

Kira's body lied on the grass for all to see. She was left there ripped and crushed in pieces covered in blood. Five black coins were found at the scene. The trees and dirt had been destroyed and ravaged. It looked like the scene of a battle. The police were investigating the crime scene, but it looked like a scene from a horror movie. It was like the whole place was trampled upon by monsters.

They couldn't even properly bury Kira as her body was too messed up.

Kira's parents cried all throughout the funeral as they mourned their only daughter. Harry came and left her flowers.

Anne and Nina sat together as they mourned silently. Both Anne and Nina dealt with the loss of their friend differently. They both initially thought that those other three girls must have done it. When they heard the news, they quickly summoned the shopkeep and paid him a black coin for answers. However, even he said, "Kira was killed by Night Demons."

Nina looked like her whole body was shut down. She couldn't comprehend what happened. How could Kira die like that, she thought. There were at least five Night Demons there. Did she go after them and get overwhelmed. The only thing Nina felt was that she should have been there with her. Kira didn't deserve what happened to her, Nina thought. Her hard shell broke apart as her soul felt like it was ripped in half. She's never experienced such loss before and blamed herself for not being there.

Anne thought to herself and also wondered how something like this could happen. She knew that Kira would have called them for backup if there were too many of them. She wouldn't have just gone in. She was far too careful to just jump into a fight. And she defeated five Night Demons by herself. It was possible, but still she wouldn't have been so reckless. Anne became very angry at the thought of losing her friend. Those Night Demons must have surrounded her and left her no room to escape, she concluded. She clenched her fist and just couldn't believe what happened. It was too unreal to lose a dear friend. And this was the beginning of a terrible feeling swelling up within her. A feeling of hate and anger.

Jack, Mary, and Yune also came, but they stood in the back quietly.

When they approached Nina and Anne, the three girls looked to be sympathetic. Each one of them gave their condolences and left. Nina and Anne didn't feel like hearing that and just ignored them, so the three left without saying another word.
