Unlikely Help

As soon as Jack agreed, Mary and Yune followed. Nina was happy that they would help. She needed someone who could break whatever was holding onto Anne. And she couldn't do it alone.

Mary asked Nina, "Do you know where she is?"

"She was just wandering around the city looking for Night Demons to fight. She won't pick up my calls or text back, so..."

"Got it. You don't know. Well, I don't feel like wasting time. It's already night and it'll be just a bother to search. Shopkeep. Shopkeep. Shopkeep. Get over here," Mary said unenthusiastically.

The shopkeep appeared and said, "Hello. Need something?"

Mary then carefully said, "Use one of my reserve coins to send me, Nina, Yune, and Jack to where Anne is. And you know which Anne we're talking about. Don't do anything funny."

"Do I ever do anything funny?" he asked. With a blink, he teleported the four of them to a dark alleyway in front of a metal door. The stench was filled with alcohol and piss.

He then pointed to the door and said, "She's in there. I could get you in, but that would cost more."

"Pfft. I don't want to be bled dry any more than I already have. Get outta here, shopkeeper," Mary said rudely.

The shopkeep vanished leaving the four girls in front of this metal door.

"Where are we? Do you recognize this place, Nina?" Yune asked.

"No. I have no idea about this place. And less idea why Anne would be here," Nina replied. She was becoming seriously concerned about Anne. This place looked like it was used by drug dealers and prostitutes. It was not somewhere she should be hanging out at.

Jack transformed with a blaze.

"No point in thinking about it," Jack said, "Let's just find Anne and see if she needs our help."

"You're right. Even if Anne isn't the same, I don't think she's changed that much," Nina replied reassuring herself. Nina transformed in a wave of light.

Now, the four of them, one a Light Guardian and three secretly guardians of the darkness, go towards the metal door with Jack in front.
