Afterstory Break

Jack, Mary, and Yune sat around a round table eating a box of large pizza outside the local deli. The city was simple and clean. Less crowded than usual.

However, Mary was getting antsy looking around the corners to see if there were any Light Guardians watching. The sound of a spoon dropping would make Mary quickly turn around and see what happened. Mary was even having trouble eating her slice of pizza. Something that never happens.

Jack, however, wasn't worried. She did think that there were Light Guardians watching, but didn't think that any of them would attack in the open.

Yune was relaxed having the same reason as Jack. And even if they were attacked here, she was confident that the three of them could handle it.

"Stop acting so nervous, Mary," Yune said.

"I can't help it. I thought that pizza would calm me down, but it's not," Mary said, "Everywhere I look, there could be a Light Guardian just around the corner."

Jack replied, "It's been almost a year since we had that big fight with those guardians. We haven't had a fight like that since then. Besides, even if they did come, we could handle it."

"Jack's right," Yune said, "They haven't come after us since then. And now that you mention it, I haven't been sensing many Night Demons around, either. It's like both of them are beginning to just disappear. Anyways, the three of us would be able to handle anything together. You know that, Mary."

"Yeah, but still," Mary replied, "any one of these people walking around us could be Light Guardians. One of them could easily just walk right behind us and we wouldn't know if they were just regular people or-"

"Hello. Would you like to buy a flower to support the Eyes of Heaven Organization to bring peace and - ?" a kind woman in modest white robes asked as Mary was speaking.

"GUARDIAN!!!" Mary suddenly yelled as she pushed the woman down to the floor.

"What? Light Guardian?" Jack exclaimed.

And the two of them began to kick down the woman as the bystanders watched in confusion and terror. One of them yelled, "Call the cops!"

And Yune was there hiding her face in embarrassment while sipping some water out of a straw to act like she wasn't associated with them.

Then, when the two realized that she was just some regular person, the two of them went back to their seats mildly apologizing to the knocked out woman.

"Man, now I know how Night Demons feel having to hide from guardians every day," Mary said.

"Yeah. Except Night Demons also attack people. Although, that is what you did," Yune replied.

"Sorry. Sorry. I just feel like I need a break from running around," Mary said, "It's such a nice day. I wish we could go to that Jargo Beach. It's too bad we can't."

"A break? Maybe, that is exactly what we need. It sounds fun, and I don't mind visiting a beach. I haven't been properly exercising anyways. And all we've been having is pizza. It'd be good to run in the sand for a while," Jack said.

"What? No. We can't actually do that," Mary replied.

Yune thought about it for a little and replied, "Actually, I think we should."

"You can't be serious. Even you, Yune?"

"We haven't seen a Light Guardian in the past year. And I think it'd be good to have our minds shut off for a little bit. Especially you, Mary. You being nervous is making me nervous. And I can't stand that."

Mary was still worried. She was still very sensitive to her surroundings as she - as well as the other two - knew that the Light Guardians would continue to hunt them for existing as Dark Stars.

"Don't worry," Jack said, "As long as the three of us are together, I doubt anybody would try anything. I'm sure you'll have fun, too, Mary."

"Oh, no...," Mary said still worrying.
