She Cried

Matthew's POV:

I've never met a woman who can cry as much as she can.

She cried.

And cried.

And cried.

Over a man who doesn't deserve her.

Unlocking the front door of the hotel, I can hear her muffled cries. Closing the door, I shrugged off my jacket and threw it over the counter. Nina sat on the couch with a container filled with ice cream, continuously shoving it down her throat. I watch in complete horror as she grabs the can of whip cream and sprays it inside the container. A supposedly heart-warming scene of a man and woman vowing their love for one another came on, and she began screaming "You liar! You fucking liar! You don't love her!"

More tears.

Her body began swaying to the side of the couch with the ice cream. She hugs it "You fucking liar. You don't love her."

I release a sigh, and she tilts her head towards me, immediately showing a cartoon-like smile "Hi you."

I walked over and sat beside her stomach. Grabbing the ice cream from her hands, she growls lowly. I tug at it only to have her pull it back with narrowing eyes. Using a bit more strength, I pull it out from her hands, only to receive a pout in return. I threw the container on the table "That's enough ice cream" I said, noticing there were three other empty ones.

She grabbed the blanket and threw it on top of herself.

I grab it and yank it off of her body "Enough sleep."

Nina pout harder, an overly adorable one before she got up and dashed for the bedroom "Nina!" I scream running after her, knowing her next move. Immediately, she leaps on the bed and tangles herself on the sheets like a burrito.

Before I can reach her, a small handheld itself on top of my shoulder "I got this" Alice said, and I held my hands upward stepping out of the bedroom.

Standing in the hallway was Neilson, Alice's boyfriend, who was typing on his phone "How's it going?" he asked. Alice visited when she heard about Nina's dis-engagement and her sloth-like attitude at my place. I thought I could help her this past two weeks, but it seems that no matter what I do, she cries even more laborious. The other day, I asked her if she wants to get some McRonald because she likes eating their fries. She hid in the bathroom and started crying.

I ran my fingers through my hair "She refuses to-" Alice steps out of the bedroom and close the room.

"Don't question it" Neilson said.

Immediately, Alice slammed the door open "Bitch get up! Stop wallowing in sorrow!"

I look at Neilson who shakes his head.

"I hate life" Nina cried.

"You know what you need?"

"I need Kevin" Nina muffled, and I can feel the tightening sensation inside my chest.

She wants Kevin, not you.

"No! You need a night out! Away from this room! Your ass has been laying on the bed so much; it's tattooing itself!"

"I don't want to do anything. Let me lay here and rot away." Silence, until "Ow"

"Meh, you're still alive. You will be fine."

"Muffin! Matt!" Alice screamed.

"That's our cue," Neilson said before he walks past me.

"What?" Neilson asked casually.

"Get ready, we are going clubbing" she declared while dragging Nina's body on the floor while she clawed her nails on the carpet. When she passed me, she grasped my ankle "Don't let her take me" she whispered. I can only reply with a small smiling before Alice pries her hands off.

"I hate men" she yelled.

Neilson glance at me before shaking his head "You can act at least a little sad for your friend" he said tauntingly.

I smile "I am sad for her."

He crossed his arms "When was the last time you look in a mirror Greyson?"

I shrug "I've been quite busy with other things."

Neilson and I stood behind Alice and Nina while we enter the club. I swallow, eyes lingering downward, but quickly adjusted my vision when I felt a small nudge to my side. Settling down on the booth, people arrive and left, but Nina and I stayed at our original position. She clung onto me, and continue her crying despite the intense stares toward our direction.

Not too long after, Alice came back with, and they start drinking together.

"Men are stupid! Dumbasses!" Nina yelled, her body swaying back and forth.

"I agree! Stupidddd" Alice encourages her wasted friend.

Nina leans in closer and screams "Stupiddddd" causing me to leap back. When I suggested her to take a break on the alcohol, she flips her hair, and I thought she was going to choke on it "There is nothing wrong with loving alcohol. It makes people feel good" she slurred.

Alice started hiccuping "Did you know that the active ingredient in alcohol is made by yeast? A microscopic single-celled organism that eats sugar and excretes carbon dioxide and ethanol, the only potable alcohol which is a form of fermentation."

I knew that.

"Ethanol makes us feel good since it helps us release serotonin, dopamine, and endorphins in the brain, chemicals that make us happy and less anxious," Nina said, stumbling back into my arm.

I knew that too.

Alice took another shot and sniffed "In history, our primates ancestor that climb on trees like consuming ethanol in rotting fruit because it has a strong, distinctive smell making it easy to locate, easy to digest allowing animals to get more of the commodity, and it was its antiseptic quality repel microbes."

I...did did not know that.

They attempt to give each other a high five, but missed "Our ape ancestor started eating fermented fruits on the forest floor, and that made all the differences."

I...do not know where this conversation is heading.

"So?" I asked.

She started giggling "So, it means we are preadapted for consuming alcohol silly" she tapped my nose and began pinching it, an action I will never allow any other person to do. If someone was to behave the way she did for the past weeks, then pinch my nose I would've cut off their hand and slap them with it. However, it's Nina...and she is different.

Her warm hands began wandering all over my face "You're so handsome" she grumbled, and a chuckle accidentally escape. "Such a nice body too" I bit my lips, in an attempt to not allow any words I may regret later to escape. I may not drink as much as the two girls in front of me, but I do feel a bit...heated.

My body jolted when Alice leaps on top of Nina and wiggle a finger in front of my face. Now, her, I'm willing to chop off her hand and slap her with it. "Don't go against nature" she said. I'm quite sure if I did do that, she would cut off both of my hands, and a single leg then beat me with my own limbs.

Not too long after, Neilson took Alice to the dance floor where they might as well have sex on it. Nina look at me and grin "I want to dance too" she said, and I shook my head, knowing if I touch her anymore tonight, I may not control myself. She broke off her engagement not too long ago, and a drunken nightstand will make her feel even more horrible about herself.

She climbs on top of me, and I inhaled a sharp breath, mentally telling myself to slow down "Why not?" she whined and began bouncing. With each bounce, I can feel the...hardness...of control.

I lick my dry lip, biting it to hold back the temptation towards the act of seduction. Nina's light red cheeks glisten against the blaring color lights and my hands' grip on her dress. The single strap slips downward, and I tried my best not to swallow as her breast came in full exposure. At that moment, I'm grateful to book a booth in the far corner of the club.

Whether it was her or me, I don't know who did it first, but our lips met. I held her close to my body as her hands swung across my neck; waist moving against mine. She pressed downward, and I threw my hip upward. With each dry thrust, her dress motion upward until her skimpy red underwear came into view. Her mouth grasps against my neck, and I look at one of the guards who pose himself as a customer. Without a word, the rest gather around the table behaving as if they were chattering with one another as they cover us.

I threw Nina down at the booth, and her mouth widens into a peal of full fit laughter, which disappear as my lips clasp onto her. My hands slide underneath her dress, feeling her full fledge bottom.

Neilson is right; I need to learn how to act better.

"So you and Nina are still just friends?" Neilson asked as he held Alice. We decide to leave the club when the girls passed out. Alice passed out somewhere, and Neilson had to carry her back. Nina passed out...underneath the table.

I glance at her "Unfortunately, yes" I replied, tucking a strand of hair back.

Neilson nodded his head, holding Alice closer to him when she started mumbling something incoherent "Is everything taken care of?" I asked.

Neilson glanced at me "Yes, everything is taken care of, don't worry."

"So how long have you and Alice been together?" I asked, attempting to pass the time.

"I've known you for over two years, and you're finally asking that question?" he knows I can care less.

I shrug, holding Nina closer to me while she wraps her arms around my neck. I adore this side of her, where she is entirely defenseless, depending on me for everything. She thinks she is a burden on me, but it's the exact opposite "Just making small talk."

"We been together since she was 16, eight years" Neilson responded.

I felt a pair of lips on my ear, and soon I realized Nina is playing with it, using her mouth. I smiled, uncontrollably, and started making light circles with my thumb on her upper thighs "Since you know my story, why don't you amuse me with yours?"

He smiled, but not a happy one, more bitter "When Alice was 15, she got her first boyfriend. She came to me, all excited saying how she got her first kiss. If only she knew, I took it a long time ago, but I was still pissed."

"And?" I question.

"I beat the kid up and told him to break up with her, or I'll break his arm" Neilson release a chuckle, looking as if he is reliving the moment.

"So what happened next?"

"When she turned 16, I asked her out. Alice being Alice thought we were friends going out for a casual meal" he replied, and I nodded, knowing exactly how he felt.

Friendzone sure is a bitch.

"She didn't even faze a single bit when I led her to a candlelit dinner at the beach surrounded by her favorite flowers, lilies. I even baked her Muffins, because she always called me Muffin. The whole time she was joking around saying how I'm such an awesome older brother" he said with an eye roll.

"Even when I told her I love her, she laughed and casually said she loves me too but I know she doesn't love me the same way I love her" his tone turns bitter as he held Alice closer.

Neilson began glaring out the tinted window "What did you do that finally told her that you didn't want to be her older brother?"

"I kissed her and took her virginity that night on the beach" he answered casually with a shrug.

My eyes widen, but quickly I gather my composure "You know what you did is illegal right?"

He glances at me and smirks "It's not illegal if you don't get caught."

"Alice could've charged you for rape."

"She was the one who physically spread her legs for me that night. How can I deny that? Watching the woman, I love ask me to fill her up. I mean you know the feeling right?" he winked.

"Seems like it all work out" I mumbled.

"Not really, she avoided me for three months until I snapped and yelled at her to stop avoiding me. I never felt so horrible in my life when she started crying because of me. You don't want that. The woman you love crying because of you."

I would do anything for her to cry because of me. Only me.

"So what happened next?" I question, realizing Nina was drooling on my shirt.

"After that, she finally stopped avoiding me. I told her I love her as a man, not as a brother and she accepts me. Ever since then I vow never to make her drop another tear again."

The limo came to a stop "Didn't know you were a romantic."

Neilson glance at the passed out woman in his arms, gently placing a kiss on her temple "Only towards my Angel, mi amore."

"I want chicken wings" Alice mumbled.

Neilson chuckled, before look at me. The smile evaporates in the air "You better catch her before another man does."

I locked my fingers with Nina "I'm not letting any man touch my woman."

When Alice and Neilson left, Nina continued to roll around the hotel room, but she seems to be a bit better than before. After work, I stood in the elevator listening to my secretary talk about the upcoming programs. I lean against the wall, with my eyes closed, needing a bit rest "Mr.Greyson" she called for me, before placing the tablet onto her side.

I didn't open my eyes "Hm?"

"The main branch is asking when you will return to New York."

I exhale, before opening my eyes seeing how we are a few floors from my room "Tell them just a bit longer."

"Mr.Greyson, I don't mean to overstep my boundaries. However, I believe you are no-" she stops speaking when I look at her. She lowers her head and steps back "It is not my place to intervene."

The elevator bell ding and I step out without speaking another word.

Entering the hotel room, I knew Nina's location precisely. For the past few weeks, I notice her routine which is - lay on the couch, sit on the toilet, and burrito on the bed.

I glance at the couch, then past the bathroom, and finally the bedroom. I sat down beside her, gently patting her head "How are doing short stack?"

She replied in a muffled tone, and I continued patting her head as she forced another smile. Standing up, I walk towards my suitcase than a bathroom to change. I grab a pair of clothes and walk back towards her, seeing her location shifting slightly. "Short stack you have to change," I said, hanging her his shirt and a pair of boxers. I turn my body, hearing her clothes being throw to the carpets as I chanted bible phrases in my head. I've never been a church kind of guy, but times like this, the verse comes in handy.

She fell asleep in my arms that night.

I held her close to my chest, loathing myself for feeling this unbearable happiness.

Stepping inside the elevator, my mood was better than ever. The bell ding once more and I step into the lobby where the workers greeted me. I smile in return, resulting in stunning reaction from them.

"Mr.Greyson, you seem to be a good mood today" my secretary boldly stated.

"Today weather is good."

She released a light breath, believing that I may forget the incident yesterday. One thing of the many things I dislike is when my employees think they can overstep their boundaries. Whatever I do or whomever I choose to be together with, holds no relations to them. They should understand that I hired them for their skills, not their advice.

I walk out of the hotel feeling the sun basketing on my skin as my face tugged into a smile as the beating inside of my chest refuses to defuse "Just a bit more."

The hotel valet pulled up my finely polished car; I tipped him "Thank you Mr.Greyson" he said, bowing his head.

I always had spare cars in many cities, but I know that if Nina ever found out, she would never give me another ride, again. Which meant, less time is spent with my short stack.

The valet opens the car, and I was about to step inside, to only stop when I met a familiar man. His eyes were swollen, the sharp prickly shade of hair zipping past his features, wrinkled clothes hanging onto his body. I clenched my fist, as a surge of anger mixed with anxiety rushed towards me "What are you doing here?"

Kevin took a step forward, eyes filled with determination "I'm here to take Nina back."
