He Was Also Human

Noticing the energy Ye Xiu was displaying, Yu Wenzhou clicked his tongue before moving over to the larger meeting table, sitting down as Zhang Xinjie followed suit.

Seeing that the two had arrived a bit earlier than expected, Ye Xiu stood up and walked towards the kitchen, asking the two behind him. "Noodles? Let's talk a bit before the others arrive!"

"Okay." Even though they were eating instant noodles, the two of them didn't deny the offer as they hadn't eaten breakfast

"Flavor?" Without even turning his back, Ye Xiu proceeded to start with his. (?)

"Spicy Chicken."

"Beef."

"Okay, one moment." Pouring the boiling water into each of the cups, Ye Xiu brought it over to the table as he handed the Spicy Chicken flavored noodles over to Zhang Xinjie, and the beef noodles over to You Wenzhou.

Because they needed a few minutes to cool down, Yu Wenzhou took the opportunity to ask. "Seems like you were playing a Grappler earlier?"

Although Xinjie didn't speak, he was also curious as he looked towards Ye Xiu.

"En, check out this replay." Knowing that the two of them were curious and interested, Ye Xiu opened the big projector and played the match between Thundering Waves and Defying Nebula once more. Needless to say, Ye Xiu also wanted to hear their thoughts on Deceiving Hawk.

The battle replayed once more as Zhang Xinjie and Yu Wenzhou immediately focused upon watching the projector.

"Oh? Such a strategy exists?" Like Ye Xiu, Zhang Xinjie caught notice of the playstyle Thundering Waves were using, although he asked the question aloud, Xinjie was extremely calm. A teams playstyle didn't matter as long as it worked, it was just that he had never seen such a method used to such an extent.

As the match continued to play out, Yu Wenzhou suddenly paused the video as he switched the camera to an overview, hovering over the characters Deceiving Hawk and a Warlock player Arcanum.

"Right here!" Because Yu Wenzhou was a warlock player himself, he was much more knowledgeable with the skills and techniques centered around the class.

While Ye Xiu and Zhang Xinjie were confused, Yu Wenzhou directly pointed at both Arcanum and Deceiving Hawk.

"Look right here, watch the movements of the Warlock and how Deceiving Hawk responded to him." Playing the video at a slower speed, the video resumed as Ye Xiu and Zhang Xinjie realized why Yu Wenzhou had paused the video.

Only after Yu Wenzhou had pointed out what had happened did Ye Xiu realize he had overlooked such an important factor of the game.

Even though players had made the joke of Ye Xiu playing like a mechanical robot, this was a prime example of Ye Xiu being a human. Although he was considered one of the most knowledgeable players in all of Glory, there were countless times where Ye Xiu would make a mistake or fail to spot something in a game, no one was perfect.

When Deceiving Hawk had thrown the two players on Defying Nebula towards different directions, Deceiving Hawk had initially wanted to target the Brawler Thousand Bricker, however he abruptly halted his steps and made a sharp turn onto Black Light instead. Although his sudden stop seemed natural at first, watching a second time, his movements didn't seem to match up with his initial plans!

Afterall, depending on who he targeted, the situation would completely deviate, and under the pressure of the five players from Defying Nebula, what made him change his mind all of a sudden?

Ye Xiu and Zhang Xinjie didn't think it was because Deceiving Hawk thought of something else.

But it became apparent when Yu Wenzhou pointed at the Warlock Arcanum, who was added onto the equation.

Deceiving Hawk had indeed originally wanted to target Thousand Bricker, but due to some reason, he had turned around and targeted Black Light, but the reason he changed his decision was because of the Warlock Arcanum!

Although they couldn't exactly pinpoint the reason as to why Deceiving Hawk switched targets, the Warlock Arcanum had altered his position which caused Deceiving Hawk to match him.

"Now look at where Arcanum is in response to the remaining 4 players of Defying Nebula."

Zhang Xinjie took a moment to process the situation when it suddenly clicked for him. "Ah! You're saying..."

"Precisely." Knowing that Ye Xiu had figured it out earlier and the situation had already became apparent to Xinjie, Yu Wenzhou cut him off.

Deceiving Hawk wasn't the changing factor nor was he the person who orchestrated the entire match!

The one who had applied the most pressure behind the scenes was none other than the Warlock Arcanum!

In fact, Deceiving Hawk was going to make a crucial mistake by targeting the Brawler, however, because the Australian Glory Alliance had voice-communication, Arcanum had most likely advised Deceiving Hawk into falling back using voice chat.

Not only that, when the two players were thrown in opposite directions, the goal of Defying Nebula was to regroup with Black Light as the players from Thundering Waves were already targeting their Brawler Thousand Bricker. Rather than jumping into a 5v6 against Defying Nebula, they made the decision to sacrifice Thousand Bricker and run towards the exchange area, where their substitute would spawn in from, which would allow them to regain their footing for a 6v6 instead.

However, Arcanum had already thought of the actions Defying Nebula would do in response to their ambush and had Deceiving Hawk chase Black Light instead.

But that wasn't even close to the start of Arcanum plans.

In fact, before Deceiving Hawk had changed his target over to Black Light, Arcanum had already started moving!

Arcanum had already chased after Black Light upon seeing him thrown into the air by Deceiving Hawk's Spinning Throw.

While doing so, Arcanum quickly hid behind a bush and started chanting the Warlock's ultimate skill.

Death's Door!

And although Ye Xiu had witnessed Arcanum doing so the first time, he had thought that the Warlock was there just in case!

But now… the Warlock seemed to have already predicted on how the entire game would turn out!

However, although Arcanum had the right idea, he was ultimately spotted by the player Plunging Avian who was playing flying in the skies as an Elementalist.

Thus Defying Nebula had no choice but to give up on saving Black Light causing them to make a desperate move of action and attempt to save Thousand Bricker instead.

Although Deceiving Hawk was strong and in the spotlight, it seemed like Arcanum was a stronger presence.

Was he the captain?

Without having any details on teams from other regions, they could only make a subtle guess.

Knowing that the rest were just suppression based on sheer numbers Ye Xiu directly closed the video, planning on drafting out the team's training schedule. "Anyways, that's basically the climax of it, the rest isn't important. But with that said, rather than worrying about others, it's more important that we raise our synergy. Although we played against each other a lot, the only times we have played together was during the all-stars event."

Understanding where Ye Xiu was coming from, Yu Wenzhou also agreed on the point being made. "En, actually, without knowing the tournament's format, all we can do is increase our teamwork and minimize our mistakes."

"Even without information about the tournament, we can still use our Glory Alliance tournament format, I don't think the Worlds Invitational will deviate too much." Zhang Xinjie made a hypothesis as he glanced over the rules of the tournament.

With 14 players on a team, there had to be players sitting down on the bench, thus his guess shouldn't be entirely wrong.

"Okay, let's use the tournament format as reference and focus on the three different challenges."

Grabbing his notebook, Ye Xiu created three different sections.

Individual, Group and Team Challenge.

The Individual Challenge were three players from each team being placed in a 1v1 situation.

Ignoring the different teams requirement, Ye Xiu decided that every player on the team would play against 2 different people each day for an hour, this would ultimately allow them to quickly adapt to various situations and enable players to think and come up with new ways in beating down their opponents.

Every team and coach were reviewing games from other regions, hoping to gather as much information as possible, thus they had to think of new strategies.

On the world stage, innovation was key to success.

Secondly, before they would engage in the Group Challenge, everyone would gather around the meeting table, eat their lunch and spectate a game from another region. This would give the players a general grasp on other players, watching their skills would prevent them from being over excited or arrogant.

Mentality played a huge role in a professional setting.

After lunch would be the Group Challenge. Similarly to the individual challenge, three players from each team would be placed in a 1v1 situation, but after a player died, the next player on the team would replace them.

This would allow players to gradually build teamwork, while thinking about their confrontations, the group challenge also played a huge role in strategy, for example, a team would mostly send out their carry last, as the two players ahead of the carry would be whittling down the health bars as much as possible.

Strategy was what controlled the pace and tempo of the game.

Thirdly, before the players would move onto the Team Challenge, they would get a 30 minute break to process everything they had learned in the day, while also allowing them to reset their mentality.

Afterwards, the Team Challenge would be the game mode that would close off the day for them. The Team Challenge was a 5 on 5 battle with a sixth substitute player on each team. However, the substitute player would only come out when someone on the field would head to the exchange zone and tag out, but they were also able to come in when a single player on a team died.

This challenge was the most important as it truly determined their strategies, prowess, mentality and teamwork.

Teamwork, was what made dreamwork.

But Ye Xiu, Zhang Xinjie and Yu Wenzhou decided it would be best to switch up the roster for the team challenge everyday as it would allow them to become more flexible in the roster.

"With all that said, there shouldn't be anymore problems?" Ye Xiu finally looked up from his notebook, and glanced towards the two of them.

"No problem."

"Couldn't agree more."

The two replied as everyone else came into the room together.

The three of them looked towards each other.

While they were working, the rest seemed as if they all went to eat breakfast without them!

"So this is where you three were!" Huang Shaotian was the first to speak up as he ran up to them.

"Hm? When did you guys arrive?"

"Eh, captain, did you know how much time I spent looking for you guys?"

"How could you leave without me! Hm, what's this?" Blurting out dozens of questions, Huang Shaotian noticed the notebook on the table as he picked it up.

"Quiet would you? That's going to be our training schedule!" Ye Xiu didn't know which to answer first as he snatched the notebook back.

Yu Wenzhou didn't make any comments as he was already used to the way Huang Shaotian spoke. "Were you looking for us?"

"Ah, that's right, Old man Feng Xiaojun said the new mansion was ready and we are to move over right now!" Remembering what he had initially came for, Huang Shaotian reiterated what the Chairman of the Glory Alliance said, as their ride was already downstairs.

"Oh? That fast? Then let's go!" Ye Xiu didn't waste any time as all fourteen players walked out, one after another.
