Crystal

Ashley's P.O.V.

I stood over the hill, looking at the city far away from here. The city looked beautiful. {A/n: and so did the light pollution*smh*}. The pain had once again receded but I knew it will come back. I could feel the presence of everyone who had come here. Their feet brushing against the ground.

The clouds were hiding the moon. There was still 2 minutes to midnight. I know because of the clock tower that was situated in the heart of the city. Yes, I could see that.

My throat felt dry. The feeling of being empty striking me hard. I felt like crying but the feeling turned to be stoic again. I could not feel anything inside me.

I looked around and my eyes caught fluffy brown hair. 'Harry...' I thought. Around him crouched Liam, Louis, Niall and Zayn. There were looking at me. I pretended that I didn't see them and looked away.

"Harry and others are hiding behind the huge rock to the right," I said in my mind, blocking any being other than the vamps.

"Yes, some of our vamps are behind them. We got them covered from all directions. Anyway, how are you feeling?" It was Tristan who answered me. I unknowingly smiled, knowing that they got some brains.

"I'm al-" I was about to answer but was cut off by immense pain attacking my chest, all of a sudden.

"No, I'm not good..." I said and my hands reached to my chest. I felt difficulty in breathing and a lump formed in my throat. I hit my chest a few times but the pain only increased. My legs gave away and I fell on my knees, coughing.

"Ashley, it's just the start. You have to stay strong." James calmly stated in my head. Well, he sounded calm but I could clearly feel that he was panicking. I couldn't reply to that so I just coughed more. It felt as if my throat was burning.

I looked up and I saw the moon. All white and round with no cloud around to cover it. And that was when I knew, it was time to turn.

I looked at the clock and that's when it strikes to 12. It was officially midnight, now. The pain was clawing at my every fibre. But, on a good note, my coughing eased up.

I felt the warmth return. My eyes instinctively looked at my hands. My veins were glowing white.

A jolt of electricity ran through my body and an ear-piercing scream left my mouth. Tho, I could tell that nobody in the city would have heard it. I was far away from them, after all. My bones were shifting inside my body. The flesh could be heard tearing from its place. My eyes burned real bad and my body started to tremble violently.

I could feel my bones enlarging and cracking. I felt my tail bone elongate, leaving an unsettling feeling in the pit of my stomach. I felt hair grow out of my skin. My vision was blurry and I could not see anything. But I knew that I was transforming into a wolf.

Everything had started from my legs. They broke and elongated into hind legs. Then my hips dislocated and joined my spine {tail} and legs. My body was a few feet above the ground and I could see through the blur that my body was glowing an unimaginably blinding white.

Now, my torso came. I felt all the organs twist and my ribs shrinker from the side a little and elongate from the front. My breasts were deflated and the skin stuck tightly to my ribs. My throat twisted and for a moment I couldn't breathe at all. I almost passed away when it went forward to my face. I felt my eyes sunk in and my nose and lips turn into a snout. My jaw snapped and my teeth took there animalistic shape. I could feel my fangs brushing against my lower jaw's outer skin. I could not see that as it was blinded by the glow emitted by my body.

All this time tears were falling from my eyes. My screams filled with pain never claimed down. My whole body was burning and I was floating in the air. I did not have any sense of anyone being around me. The only thing that was in my mind was James's words.

'I can do this.' I thought and I felt the pain rising. I let out another scream but it came out as a howl. I fell to the ground but I landed on my four. My vision was back and the hearing was as strong as ever. I heard rustling and my animal head snapped towards the sound. It was from Harry. I smelled him. I wanted to say something to him but it came out as a low, warning growl. He came out from his hiding spot and walked towards me with his hands up in surrender. But his slick smirk was even more prominent, telling me he meant no good.

I felt the Vamps behind me, ready to attack. Harry came closer and I bared my fangs at him. My throat was dry. I needed something to drink and, to my luck, Harry was himself, walking towards me. I let out a snarl and tried jumped at him but my body suddenly felt weak. I started to lose my consciousness and I fell to the ground with a thud.

Third Person's P.O.V.

Harry looked down at the unconscious Ashley and let out a dark chuckle. He had been waiting for this time to come around. He wanted her for himself. He wanted all the power in this world and she will help him achieve that. He crouched down to get a better look at her. She had not fallen unconscious because of him. It was just a natural process. He examined her.

Ashley's wolf had pure white fur with black fur on top, blending with the white into grey. Just like a normal wolf but her size was tremendous. She was approx. 150cm in size. Her eyes were yellowish-red due to her being a hybrid. Due to this, her fangs were larger than a regular werewolf. Her eyes were medium-sized and erect like listening for any danger. The way she stood before, gave pure signals of authority and power. Something that Harry wanted. Her eyes held seriousness that was the warning to not mess with her. Overall, she was one beautiful wolf.

Oh, how Harry wanted to, then and there, put a leash around her neck and take her with him and lock her in one of the dungeons. He could imagine all the fame and power he would have. People would be under his foot. He would have all the control. A wicked laugh left his mouth.

On the other side, James was boiling with anger. Connor had to hold him down so that he won't just go out and reveal their plan. He had listened to Harry's thoughts and was not pleased to listen to all that about his mate. His Ashley. His jaw was clenched tight, watching the scene unfold in front of him. He could imagine the blood dripping from Harry's nose after he punched it. But he knew better. He would not go out.

He gently removed Connor's hands from his body and looked to the side. He spotted something that seemed to be glowing. His eyebrows scrunched together and he tapped Tristan's shoulder. The latter turned to him and he pointed to the thing.

Tristan looked as confused and cautious as James. After all, it could be anything, from a bomb to a mic or it could simply be a rock too but they had to be cautious. Because it was battle between life and death, not only Ashley's but their's and other vampire's too.

James looked at Tristan and crawled to the glowing thing. Tristan didn't stop him. He knew he won't be able to, anyway.

As James neared the thing, it started to glow purple from white. James's eyes never left it. It was as if it hypnotized him. James's hand rose to grab the now clearly a crystal ball and it turned sapphire and then pale turquoise and dimmed a bit.

A groan came from Ashley's direction and everyone looked at her but James was too focused on the colour changing crystal. He got the hold of it and it, suddenly, at his touch glowed magnificently. The place was lit with the white light from the crystal and it, unfortunately, brought unwanted attention to them.

Tristan looked behind him when he heard a low growl. There stood a wolf, ready to attack the oblivious James. Tristan jumped at it without wasting a second and took it down.

And this was the call for everyone to come out of their hiding place and attack each other as Harry stood beside the half-awake Ashley, shocked. He sure was not expecting this.

James was still oblivious to the loud noises and grunts coming from everywhere. The crystal that he held was making him see things. He was not sure what they were meant to be as the things that he saw went too fast. He could only see specific things. Things that were meant for him to see. Everything else was a blur.

"James..." He heard a whisper. Everything around him turned black.

"James!" He heard it again and it was Ashley who called him.

And everything went numb. He feel on the ground while the other fought.
