As I entered the Undying Legions building, I was greeted by a small kitten that jumped into my arms, as well as the familiar voice of Lily. "She wouldn't calm down all day, she kept shivering and howling at anyone that got close to her. Are you ok? I heard that familiars have a close connection with their masters."
I nodded as I recapped today's events to her, going as far as to show her the book that I was given as homework. The book titled Esper's Blade was a simple book with no elaborate markings on it. It would be easy to overlook in a library or shop if one was looking for a good skill book. Not only that it was rather thin, meaning the skill did not have a lot of steps or room for progress. However, as McGuire had made it clear that I would be learning this skill, and that everything involved in my training today was geared towards this skill. To me, this meant that this skill had a lot of potential. Even if the skill book was easy to overlook.
As I opened the book to review the contents, I was struck by the authors name, "Firestarter Mcquire, Fire magus Esper." The additional titles to the name made the old man seem a little more prestigious, but what really surprised me was this seemed to be a skill that he had created.
The requirements for the skill were kind of steep, and the effects were largely undesirable for most Espers, however it almost seemed as if it were made for me. This was not that surprising when I stopped to think about it. I was an Esper with a physical gift. And Old man Mcquire was a knight that had become an Esper through a lucky chance. Fate had decided to through the two of us together at an opportune time. I pushed these thoughts to the side as I began to read the book in earnest.
On my journey I encountered several different sects, with many different ideas. Two of which I found extremely helpful. The first was a group in the south west of the continent called the Shadow Empire. An Esper there had developed a way to change the path of his aura of darkness to strike out at people that would normally be outside of his auras range. By controlling the shape of his aura, he was able to materialize a small part of the aura into a form of attack. The results were shocking, and I paid a large price to study the method he had developed.
The second method I learned from an acquaintance that worked in the nearby military academy in the city of Taryln. This method was quite common called the telekinetic blade. This method used a person's telekinesis to make a blade that was powered by their mind. It not only ignored physical defense, but the strength of the blade was based on a person's mind stat, not their strength! This technique was truly a way to use my melee abilities and my Esper abilities.
The true magic did not appear until many years later while I was on patrol with my knight unit on the northern border. A large serpent attacked our squad, leaving half of us dead. In a desperate gamble I used the aura technique in conjunction with my telekinetic blade to slay the beast. To my surprise I found that my blade has absorbs a small portion of my aura.
I spent two years studying the phenomenon before I finally came up with this technique. By having the telekinetic blade absorb the aura of the wielder it created a unique weapon that had the amplified ability of the user's aura that was formed from the user's telekinetic power.
Unfortunately, the skill has the most potential if it is learned at a low level, in the place of another mid-level telekinetic power, so I am unable to use the full power of the ability. However, I am convinced that if a level 1 natural Esper learns this technique its power could eventually surpass high level techniques.
The requirements to learn this technique are as follows. 1) a level 1 natural Esper 2) perfection of beginner's telekinesis, and no other telekinetic techniques 3) the ability to control the shape of one's aura
The user must focus their aura and telekinetic mastery into their inner world, forging the weapon in their inner world. The process should take a weeks' time and be very depleting on their essence. The weapon will absorb all the users battle experience, which is used to synchronize with user's growth, and will thereafter absorb a portion of their battle experience to grow. The shape of the weapon will depend on the users own natural aptitudes and luck. Once the weapon is formed the user's aura will disappear into their inner world, only appearing in the form of the Espers Blade when summoned. >
I finished reading the skill book, setting it down on the table beside me. The book really was rather short, and the skill had a lot of demands but its potential for growth was enormous. It truly suited my direction of growth.
I shivered as I thought of today's training and the training that I would be experiencing for the foreseeable future. I could also understand why I was not being trained with any weapons. There was no point in training me in a weapon if we had no idea what form my Esper Blade would take.
While I was lost in thought. Lily. Who was sitting next to me flipped through the book before putting it down bored? The skill was of no use to her, so she quickly lost interest.
She giggled as she looked at my serious face, leaning in to kiss me on the lips. She grabbed my hand pulling me into the bath. Several girls were around as she slowly undressed in front of me, going as far as to bend over right in front of me as she slipped her panties off.
I grinned, my little friend was thoroughly aroused as I tore of my clothes, grabbing her and princess carrying her into to the hot path. What followed was a workout that left us both covered in sweat and blood even though we were in the bath.
The night passed peacefully, and before longing it was again time to go back to the Knights association. I arrived slightly early as per my habit, and again watched as the knights formed their formations before they headed out into the plains to gather more undead.
Training proceeded exactly as it did the day before, with the only difference being a slight increase in my capabilities in all aspects. Just like this several months passed. I endured untold pain, and my telekinesis had finally gained perfection. The control over my aura was high enough that Mcquire told me that in a week we would begin my seclusion. He gave me a much-needed week of rest.
Lily was excited about the prospect of spending a week with me, demanding that I take her shopping. We had by this time received our pay from the army for our mission involving the undead horde. I was not rich. But I had plenty enough money to take her shopping.
Not being able to eat the foods from the various food stalls was the only let down during our date. I took her to a nice clothing shop, where she picked out a dark blackish purple shirt that matched her eyes, a pair of tight black pants that accentuated the object of plenty of my dreams, and a black cloak that had small catlike ears on the hood. She looked rather adorable in it.
All good things come to an end, and my weeks' vacation came to an end. Tomorrow I would begin my weeklong seclusion. As I would be gone, I had to make sure Lily absorbed plenty of my essence and yang energy. I did not get any sleep that night.
