57 the Mosquito queen

"That mosquito needs to die". That was the thought that went through both girls' minds. Dark who was watching from the void thought the same. Dark had more complex thoughts towards the mosquito. A mosquito was similar to a vampire in that it survived on blood, and these insects had a thick vampiric essence aura. However, the aura was tainted by poison essence. These creatures were of no use to him, or almost any vampire.

There was an exception to this rule, and the exception was staring at the mosquito queen with a look of hunger. Ash was the spider queen. Through her exchange with Dark she had inherited his vampiric essence, but it only mingled with her own poisonous essence. The creature in front of her was a perfect supplement for her. Because of this the mosquito queen needed to die.

Ash's greed did not overwhelm her reason as she looked at the giant swarm of mosquitos. Beside her Lily had a look of disgust on her face as she watched the swarm. "I hate mosquitoes. They give me the creeps. They all need to just die."

Ash laughed in response to her words. "Spiders find mosquitos to be a delicious treat. They just look like prey to me." She was quiet for a moment as she was deep in thought. "I need the core from the queen, but there are far to many mosquitos near her, I can't get close enough as it is. Can you use your illusions to help? They have the vampiric trait don't they."

Lily nodded as she listened to her words. "With the amount of mosquitoes that are here the illusion would be spread rather thin, it would take at least an hour to drain the smaller ones, and would not effect the queen at all. Do we have that kind of time?"

"I need this core, all we have to do is bring His hand to the shrine and his mission is complete. It doesn't matter what happens after that."

A determined look filled Lil's face as she gripped Dark's skeletal hand. In the void Dark could feel a tingling from where his hand should have been. A sad smile crossed his face as he looked at the scene. in his mind he whispered, "You need to let me go Lily. I'm already dead." He shook his head as he looked at the scene.

Lily was tightly gripping Dark's skeletal hand as she concentrated on the enormous swarm of mosquitoes. Unbeknownst to the bugs, a slight shimmer began to appear around them, slight and unnoticeable to most. Even Ash had no idea anything had happened as she looked over at her companion. She saw the sweat dripping from Lily's brow and a look of exhaustion on her face as she fell to her knees in the murky swamp.

"If it's too hard we can try something else" Ash said as she looked worriedly at Lily. Lily was currently panting. Her sweat washing away the layers of mud that caked her face. She shook her head as she looked at Ash.

"It's already done. The do not see anything unusual, it's only a glamour to make them not notice us, but the vampiric draining will still happen. "

The mosquitos did not notice their presence as they camped here feet away from the closest one. Lily's approximation of an hour was not as accurate as they could of hoped, the first mosquito did not fall until around 90 minutes later.

The fall of the first mosquito set off a chain reaction, thousands of mosquitoes began to fall like dominos. The queen soon noticed something was wrong but it was far too late for her to do anything to effect the situation. Soon the queen flew alone in the air, the ground around her littered with the bodies of her children. Her once grey body turned to red as rage filled the mosquito queens heart. Her body bulged, she grew faster, and stronger. The queens senses grew more sharp and quickly noticed the two shameless girls who had been hidden by illusion.

She was enraged when she noticed a spider queen in her territory. Why had the spiders invaded her territory? Was their forest not enough?

Ash's territory further enraged the queen. The mosquito lost all senses of reason as bloodlust filled her eyes. She flew rapidly towards the spider queen, her long needle like nose acting as a saber as it pierced through the spiders heart.

The spiders body disappeared, only to reveal a human girl looking at her while laughing "Welcome to my web little fly." At that moment hundreds of invisible threads sprung forward, causing a small cage to close in on the mosquito queen.

A sense of panic flooded the queens mind as she moved to evade the web, her quick movements allowed her to escape before the cage had tightened around her. She did not escape without injury however, she left behind two of her legs, and large cuts had appeared on her body.

The enraged Mosquito queen did not realize the peril she was in as she could not feel the poison seeping into her flesh, causing her skin to rapidly decay. The queen thrust her saber like nose at the humanoid spider, its movements sluggish as it attempted to penetrate the laughing woman.

The queens actions were in vain as its decaying body could not support its weight. falling to the floor before her needle nose could even get near the human. The last thing the mosquito saw before It died was the shadow of a spider walking towards her on two legs. The sight sent a shiver down her spine.
