"What the hell was that!?" - and those were my first words after I woke up again, for real, inside the pyramid.
The pyramid was shaking, and the chances were that the whole mountain enclave was shaking as well.
The green light at the internal tip of the pyramid turned purple, and then blue. I was unsure what had changed, or how I was feeling about it.
After the shaking stopped, the pyramid's door opened. Like I have been waiting for this opportunity, I rushed through the door to get out. And indeed, just after I made it out, the stone door slid into the closed position again.
The yellow illuminating dust inside the cave was getting fainter. Some parts were blinking, and the whole thing was behaving like there was an undervoltage problem; except they didn't run on electricity... as far as I could guess, that is.
I heard someone running towards me. I turned around to look, and it was no one other than Mr. Engin. He was carrying his arty wand with him, as usual. The unusual thing was his worried and hasty behaviour, almost as if he was going to miss a train or something.
But he stopped by me, probably understanding my confusion, curiosity and a state of general uncertainty.
"What color?" he asked, contributing to my confusion instead of helping.
"What what color?" I asked in return.
"The pyramid." he said. "What color was the light?"
"It was green when I first got inside... I just turned purple and then blue, about right now."
"Take this." he said, suddenly handing me his wand. "Go outside, face Yuvakaya and light it up! Oh, and don't move before I tell you to do so."
Before I could ask even a single thing, he went and faded away into the gloomy dark yellow field of dust. I was left with my own thoughts again.
The instructions were clear, yet they were not. I knew what I had to do, and I could understand the urgency; but I had no idea how to do it. However, the pressure of needing to move fast was strong. So I lifted the wand off the ground to get going.
"Oh my God!" I said. "How does that man carry this five ton wand around all day?"
I found the tunnel which lead to the lone small room on the enterance level. There, I climbed up the enterance tunnel and came across the heavy piece of stone that blocked it, effectively hiding the enclave from all the eyes outside.
With adrenaline rushing through my body, I naturally tried to roll it over with my hands first. Then came my legs, but it wasn't enough.
"How do I even get out to begin with!?" I said. "Oh, perhaps..."
I tried using the wand to open the door... without knowing how to actually use it. The fact that it was a giant flashlight - that was the only thing I knew about it.
"And what is going on down there anyway?" I asked to nobody. "Anyway, I shouldn't get distracted."
I searched all around for secret levers or something that could serve as a lock, but there was nothing just like I expected.
"Open sesame! Open sesame!" I repeated. "What do I do with you!?" I ended up yelling angrily at the piece of stone.
The cave started shaking again. With an incredibly loud and irritating noise, the door-stone rolled and created a gap which I could hardly pass through, so I used that to get outside for the first time in a long while.
The weather was slightly cold, and there was a soft, pleasant breeze. The sun had just set on the west side of the scenery. On the south, I could see the modern Yuvakaya village with it's electric lighting system. It was a sight that I almost forgot because of the 'dreams' I've been having lately, that was set in a much older and smaller Yuvakaya, the one that was (barely) illuminated with burning lanterns, the one where people prayed in a temple that stood between their houses and this very mountain. Modern Yuvakaya had turned into something very different, especially with the new oddly-located university campus which almost rivaled the size of the village itself.
"Okay, let's not get distracted." I told myself. I put the lower end of the wand on the ground to look at it, and I felt like it looked back at me. I started moving my hands around it to find some sort of switch. I touched the wooden parts on the below, and the shiny gemstone patterns on the top. The single large yellow stone on the upper tip was so smoothly cut into a bipyramid that I didn't even need to search for any possible secrets on it. There was simply nothing I could do to operate this thing.
Eventually, with a bit of hesitation, I started hitting it around. I was worried about breaking it, but I just had to try something.
It was getting darker every minute. I could still see everything far away on the horizon, but the details were lost in the darkness falling onto the region. If it wasn't for Yuvakaya's lighting, I could lose the sight of the village.
"So this is how it looks from up here..." I said. It didn't last long though, only until I witnessed the street lights dimming, flickering and going out one by one. The stars could only help so much...
"I-I... I get it..." I said, and my shock was mixed with fear. "Oh no, OH NO, I messed it all up!"
I started waving the heavy wand around.
"Light up, you idiot! Shine!"
I turned the wand upside down, blew on it, hit the stones with my fingers, an even tried spinning it around. My arms were getting tired.
"Please, I beg you, shine! Shine, for the love of-"
Then, the miracle happened. The monolith gemstone began emitting a very bright yellow light.
