After having prepared everything and having all the pieces of meat cooked he could finally start to see what difference they'd make now with a bigger variety to choose from. Bringing one piece to his mouth he quickly ate and finished it off. After waiting for a little bit he finally felt a sense of energy rummaging in his body but this was just slightly stronger than the second Astral Wolf meat he ate. Moving on to the next Meat he tried again but had the same reaction. It was again the same as the first meat he had today only slightly stronger than the last one.
"Hmm..its stronger this time around so maybe it has to do with the amount I've eaten from that species? or maybe it varies depending on the type of creature or how much I've consumed from that creature. But that wouldn't make sense seeing as how the Wolf's meat the second time after the first time I ate was weaker than the very first. So maybe it depends on the uniqueness or it being the first time eating that type."
He could somewhat figure it out the difference but he only had small samples from multiple different creatures here but he knew he was most likely on the right track with the information he had so far. Especially since the meat that he ate that wasn't the Awakened Stage was all around the same energy this time around. After finishing a couple more different samples it was time to try out the Fire Chargers meat and find out the difference.
Bringing it up to his mouth he slightly prepared himself just in case and bit down.
*Munch*
After finishing it he waited until finally.
The explosive feeling he felt the first time it ever happened came back along with the hunger that came as well. The worst part though unlike last time he didn't have anything to calm down the hunger like last time he only had some different meats scattered around left over. The hunger along with the intense pain was practically driving him up the wall. The urge didn't settle down until finally he ate some of the left over meat scattered around and even then it didn't calm him down very much.
The pain though finally did calm down after a while and his energy turned stagnant once again but with a nice increase in Astral Energy this time unlike all the other attempts. But in the spectrum of the scale it took to get to the next stage it wasn't much really.
Though his Astral Energy calmed down the hunger he felt didn't.
"Argh...m-make it stop!"
It wasn't nearly as strong as before but it still threatened to drive him insane or at the very least that's how he felt. With being gone this far his only other choice was to endure it and hope it ends or override it with a different emotion and hopefully that would work. The only emotion or thing he could feel though was pain right now and the only way to experience that was by doing it to himself. Which wasn't something he wanted to experience even more so than this Hunger that ran throughout his body.
So all he could do was endure and hope and pray to whatever was out there to help him out. But Alas nothing answered him and he had to endure the maddening feeling he felt the whole night until daybreak.
Through out the night he thought of plenty of ways to try and escape reality and stop it but he wasn't able to do any and not dumb or brave enough to go down the pain route so all he could do was sit amognst the silent lonely night and quietly endure the harshness of keeping his mind together. Feeling his mind break piece and piece and holding it together was excruciatingly suffocating, it was as if someone continuously cut small cuts in his skin all throughout his body over and over again through the entire night and there was nothing he could do to stop it at all, while they sat there and enjoyed his suffering. If he didn't keep all of his focus on keeping himself sane he was absolutely positive he would break.
Then came daybreak after 8 hours of hellish endurance and finally the agony and feeling of hunger he felt disappeared finally. Now that he was able to take a breather he slowly settled himself down after that hellish nightmare and calmed himself. It took him 40 minutes to finally feel even remotely back to himself after that experience compared to how he usually calmed down it was an insane amount of time.
"I really need to figure out ways to combat that feeling next time because I'm positive this won't be the last time I feel it."
Knowing he would feel that pain again most likely forced him to realize he couldn't just blindly understand his own body and how strong it was or wasn't and taking blind risks like that we're definitely not a smart choice. But he would probably do it again if given the choice because it gave him information for future reference and it was still a way of increasing his strength big or small and the small portions he could handle at least. So for the time being he would lay off his testing on what that ability was until he was prepared or in complete need of it.
After finally calming down and the adrenaline settling down his body finally noticed how tired he was especially after a full day of training and a night without sleep and hellish pain. He seriously needed a good sleep and hopefully some good luck in the near future or else he would feel like screaming at the top of his lungs with all the stress he'd built up the past couple of weeks.
"N-need s-some sleep..."
Dragging his body over to his sleeping area he quickly as possible got himself onto his branch and instantly fell asleep the second he let his guard down against himself. He didn't care about anything at the moment besides the sweet lullaby of dream land.
