Walking into the library they still saw the same cloaked figure as before but Xilo ignored it for today because he had more important things to do then worry about something significant to himself at the moment. Quickly completing their signing in they quickly went down the columns of book shelves until they reached the center of the library where a table was located. Surrounded by books Xilo still couldn't get over his excitement of such things though today he'd be making good use out of his skills hopefully. If anything even though Xelfia was boasting about winning she had little confidence of actually doing so.But just rolling over and letting Xilo win without a fight wasn't something she wanted to do either. "Do your best, What's the worst that could happen right?"
"So let's discuss rules and point system now before we begin that okay?"
"Yep, we only got 5 hours so let's hurry this up."
"That brings up my first point. Today we'll have Four hours for our little competition does that sound acceptable?"
"That's fine."
"Two, we both must stay at different sections of the library to avoid collision of books and information."
"Alright."
"Three, You get 1 point for minor information, 2 points for mid-tier information and lastly anything actually directly useful to us is three points."
"How do we decide what information goes in what category?"
"Simple, minor information is things like names of buildings, people and ranks that are small or widely known. Mid tier information is something that is just a step away from being useful to us but just not quite there. For example since we now know a location of an Astral Zone if either of us were to find another one it would be considered minor since we don't need it at the moment and finally useful information is things we don't know at all like important locations, people etc and things like what exactly is in the Astral Zone Belturn."
"Sounds fair enough."
"Remember the penalty for losing?"
"Don't worry I didn't forget, I hope you're ready for your task after I win."
With a slight smile Xelfia leaned toward Xelfia slightly but Xilo only countered by doing the same until their noses touched eventually and well that caused both of them embarrassment neither pulled away.
"I hope you're ready for yours"
With an equally confident smile Xilo pulled away first and began the countdown for them to begin. After he had finished they both rushed off the the side of the Library they had chosen at random and began scrambling and searching for any books that could possibly be of us to them.
Xelfia ended up running to the Astral Path Section well Xilo ended up running to the Geography Section of the library. Both equally useful sections for them at the moment but at the same time it didn't mean everything in their was all useful either.
Scanning each book and shelf Xelfia continued to look through countless books she thought might be helpful but struggled to find anything of use for herself. "Where is something, Anything..." After a couple more minutes of Looking she finally found something that had her interests in mind and the competition in the mind though thankfully. "Kelger's Guide to Astral path's. Kelger? Who's that?" though the name obviously didn't ring a bell it still would be of use to her. Though just to be sure she grabbed a similar book to make sure everything was correct. "Imagine if I was wrong..." That thought made her shudder.
Meanwhile XIlo wasn't panicking or hurrying like Xelfia instead he was taking his time because he knew exactly what he was looking for. "Is this cheating?" Xilo knew what was the most useful to him and where it was found well Xelfia had only hints and guesses which caused Xilo to wonder if it was really fair of him to do it like this. But when he remembered the purpose of the competition in the first place he quickly pushed his guilty feelings aside and finally reached the book he was looking for the entire time.
"The World Of Velkeran eh? Will you be of as much use as I hope? Let's find out."
With that he took the book he found back to the table at the center and flipped it open and once again to begin reading. A few minutes later Xelfia also showed up but while she was Slightly discouraged that Xilo was already there and reading she ignored it and sat beside him to begin herself. Two people side by side in an overly dramatic competition though that wasn't to say neither of them weren't having fun though because well they both had their own goals in mind they still enjoyed this little game that had been set up together.
"Now I just need to win." After a couple of minutes of looking through the book she was currently reading Xelfia finally found the first bit of information that might be useful to them or more specifically Xilo. "He definitely needs this especially with his next rank increase coming soon." The information she had found was on his next stage and probably one of the most important and biggest stages on the Astral path. "The Transformation Stage, though it's a little nostalgic to think about." While reminiscing about her own she slowly read about it once again as a refresher for herself to be able to explain to Xilo properly about it.
"When people First reach the Transformation Stage The biggest changes and most important things to know about it are that it's the true beginning of the Astral Path. Oh? people think of it like that? One of The reasons it is described like that is because it allows people to finally unlock an item that was later named the Astral Ring. Astral Ring? I never got that. Maybe it's not for beast types?" Unlike beast types we instantly gain this ring that will stay with us forever for the rest of our lives." maybe? Sounds interesting though."
Time flew by as they both continued to read each of their respective books and find out more and more information.
