Not Over Yet

Sliding across the ground Tearia smashed against the inn wall as she laid there in pain trying to inhale any air around her after getting the wind knocked out of her. This had been the fourth time it had happened to her today and it was just getting more frequent and worse as time went on. "I hate this..." Coughing she finally regained her breath as she struggled to move and stand up once again but eventually she was able to as she stared at her Grandfather watching her calmly without moving.

"Haaa.....haaaa..."

The past few days she had been going through similar treatment but as each day passed her training was more harsher then the last and it definitely didn't feel like it was because she was improving. Instead she felt the opposite and felt like she was getting worse with each practice session but she couldn't tell why her Grandfather was being so tough on her but she didn't have the heart to ask. She was afraid that if she did he would just outright stop. If that happened she didn't know what she would do so the only thing left for her was to deal with it and hope for the best. At least she got some respite whenever she was with her Grandmother.

"That's enough."

Feeling ready to fight again Tearia pushed herself off the wall as she walked back towards her Grandfather to start again. Though calling it a fight was the biggest overstatement of her life. It was more accurate to say she spent the entire time dodging everything instead without a chance to fight back but at least it was something. Before she was to afraid of being hurt so she would never look when she got hit in the few fights she had and would instead do her best to dodge but now she could at least stand her ground and not flinch when taking a punch. Thinking that she hyped herself up as she walked back into the training field that had been set up as her Grandfather asked the same question like every other time this had happened.

"Are you continuing?"

"Yes."

With no hesitation from either of them they started once again as Eli appeared in front of his Granddaughter at lighting speed and began his flurry of attacks. His goal was to overwhelm her with attacks constantly and while they could hurt her they wouldn't do any permanent damage in an attempt to beat the fear of fighting out of her completely though if there wasn't other motives involved with his approach he would be lying to himself. If she was going to do this he wasn't going to go easy like he did before. "Not again." Watching his first couple attacks be dodged he nodded in satisfaction but that wasn't what he wanted entirely. Instead he wanted her to defend but for now he was giving her time to adjust again and whenever she needed a break he would send her flying out of the arena again. "Maybe she'll..."

Struggling she felt her body beginning to burn again as every muscle ached while Astral Energy pumped through her keeping her going while avoiding her Grandfather's attack one by one. But she knew it wouldn't be enough eventually. She had noticed the beginning of a pattern a little bit before in the way her grandfather attacked but she wasn't fast enough to do anything about it herself. She may be a Speed Path herself but compared to her grandfather even while at the same strength it felt like she was in slow motion.

"Ouch"

Forced to block the attack that came at her she felt it hit her arm hard as she backed away afterwards already dodging again as she saw even more fists coming her way already without giving her any time to breath. In this training she wasn't allowed to use any Astral Energy except to keep her from getting tired so everything she did was using her own body strength to dodge as she learned over time and even though it was hell she accepted it without question. Jumping to the side she dodged his attacks for a brief second before they came back again forcing her backwards and that same process repeated with some defense here and there until eventually she was sent flying out of the training area for the fifth time today so far.

Lying on the ground once again Tearia sat there as sweat flowed all over her body without stopping as large breaths of air escaped her lungs while she panted a little feeling exhausted. It was at the point now where she could barely feel her body anymore. She almost just wanted to quit but thankfully she saw her Grandmother in the corner of her eye coming to save her. Unable to do anything she closed her eyes and waited for her saviour as she knew today's training was now down with her appearance.

Approaching her Granddaughter and seeing her in such a awful condition she sighed while looking at her husband off to the side appearing to mind his own business but she knew what he was up to yet she left it alone as she sat beside Tearia and lifted her up on her lap and gave her water along with a little bit of medicine she made to help with energy then sat with her patiently until Tearia had recovered enough to move.

Ten minutes later...

Tearia could finally sit herself up again as some energy returned to her body after the agonizing hours she spent fighting but it wasn't over yet. The day was only halfway through now and that meant she would have to learn with Grandmother about more medicine related things. But at least she didn't have to feel physically exhausted anymore, only mentally exhausted before the day finally would come to an end. Even so unlike her training with her Grandfather she was actually learning quite a bit more easily then she figured she would have so she was quite happy to learn. Eventually she would be able to try creating proper medicine at some point herself as well but for now she could only learn and watch while practicing in fake scenarios but it was oddly fulfilling.

"Can you walk again?"

"Just barely..."

"Good because you have a lot to learn today as well. I hope you're ready."

"I know."

Standing up again Tearia walked along with her Grandmother towards her office ready for more.
