In the Darkness Xilo could feel his body getting colder while it became harder to move but there was nothing he could do. Thankfully they were almost at the exit now then this would finally be over and he could free. "At least that was an actual test." After completing it they had received another crystal that was green and left soon after. "We've got three in total now blue, yellow and green but we still haven't gotten an opportunity to test what they actually do yet." Feeling the three of them move around in his pocket they finally made it to the exit as Xilo put his free hand up that could still move and pushed forward along with Xelfia. "No more ice now." Feeling his body gain more freedom he stepped into the other side and finally felt his body's control coming back to him.
"It's good to be free of that ice again."
Enjoying himself Xilo didn't bother looking at his body as he moved his joints around again enjoying the feeling rushing through him from escaping the cold while Xelfia looked over his condition just in case but from what she could see he seemed fine as well, until. "Whats this." Grabbing his left hand without caring she examined it and looked closer and saw something that shouldn't have been there.
"They aren't gone..."
Barely Hearing Xelfia's voice he followed her line of sight downwards and saw three icicles still sticking out of his wrist though they were a lot smaller than before probably about the size of a pebble or so however they were still there. Not caring for the past results Xelfia reached out to grab them and tried to break them off once again to no avail before taking his shirt and pulling it upwards to check his chest as well. "These are here too." Seeing another two icicles stuck there Xelfia was feeling some panic for XIlo.
"Still here too."
But it took a second for Xilo to reply.
"Why aren't they gone yet. The ice that was spreading before disappeared?"
"No idea but they don't seem to be spreading ice any more from what I can tell. Do you feel any discomfort or pain?"
"No I feel perfectly fine from what I can tell."
"Hmm...Well it's not anything we can deal with now so try and keep an eye on it and let me know if anything starts happening again."
Pulling down his shirt she backed away again as she faced the other rooms still left while Xilo stared at the icicles for a few seconds before joining her.
"Your right, maybe completing the rest of the tests can change something. It didn't seem to do nothing before."
"Lets go to the next door then?"
"Might as well."
Heading toward the first of the three doors in the closest to them in the corner it was time to see if this next room would be another test or not. They were so close to escaping this place and then they could finally be free again though a small part of Xilo didn't want to escape so soon. He was slightly scared to deal with all the emotions and thoughts swirling around in his head so a part of him was a little grateful for the extra time before it would all come crashing down on him. "Toughen up." A faint voice whispered in his head but it was probably his own so he ignored it as they arrived at the path Placing his hand on the invisible wall he pushed forward first expecting the same results as before but nothing budged as he stayed in place. Trying again there was still no difference as the path refused to let him in.
"Seems it's locked as well, maybe we need to complete something like before?"
Hearing him mention it was locked, Xelfia brought up numbers they had seen before.
"Maybe but there's no fire numbers above it like before so that doesn't seem right."
"True but it could be another sign we haven't noticed."
Placing her hand on it as well Xelfia gave it a quick try herself not thinking about it too deeply and pushed before getting sucked inside herself. Caught off guard it took Xilo a split second to react before he reached to grab Xelfia but he missed her hand just barely. Feeling the air enter his hand he stared blankly as he watched Xelfia disappear to the other side in less then a second. "Xelfia...." Finally getting his head on straight he banged and pushed on the wall with all his might trying to barge through but no matter what he did nothing changed leaving him stuck on the other side all alone.
Given it a second he backed away and waited but even after waiting nothing happened. He had thought at first she might come back right away but maybe there was something stopping that from happening well worry entered his head.
"Damnit."
Gritting his teeth, frustration welled up inside him but there was nothing he could. It all had happened so quickly leaving him with no way to react in time. "At least she should be okay." Remembering the way that snake had treated and talked about Xelfia he knew this place probably wouldn't cause her any harm. "Hopefully." That thought calmed him down quite a bit as he backed off the door before moving back to the water near the beginning.
"I can wait...For now."
If Xelfia was okay she would come back eventually so all he had to do was be a little patient and hope she would return soon. He didn't want to do the rest of the tests without her but at some point he would be forced to do that. "I can only hope it doesn't come to that."
"Xelfia...."
Even if he thought she was okay it still didn't mean he could stop himself from feeling frustrated completely. "If Only I was faster." Maybe then he could have saved her but that was only a pointless what if to think about now.
