It's Okay To Get Hurt

As Xelfia watched the girl fall asleep she turned to Xilo now that it was just the two of them. Scooting towards him she rested her head against his shoulder as she stared off into the starless night. Sitting in silence for a couple minutes she decided to open her mouth as she saw the girl on the other side of room lay against the ground as the sounds of her soft breathing were the only thing they heard along with the rustling of the grass and leaves.

"So what do you think of her?"

"Nothing bad or good."

Hearing his slightly icy tone she was about to ask why he was being like that but stopped herself. "It makes sense." Xilo was most likely fine with escorting her to the nearest town but once that happened he probably wanted nothing to do with her anymore. "Tearia....." But with that girl so recently behind them still it was understandable. It was going to be hard to earn Xilo's trust after that. "I'd probably receive the same treatment if I was in her position." Pausing she tried to think about how to word her next sentence as best as possible.

"so Tear-"

"Stop."

Feeling a slight chill run down her back she looked up to see Xilo staring down at her with some anger carried along with it. "Worse than I thought then. Plus I probably could have gone at that better." Dropping it she sighed deeply before she tried something else.

"So will you avoid people who try and get close then?"

"...."

"That's not what you want right?"

".....I don't know."

"Well maybe you should think about it a little more than alright?"

"Ok...."

She was going to bring more things up to talk about but she figured Xilo was probably getting tired himself so she left it alone "It's okay to get hurt Xilo...idiot." thinking that she also felt a wave of sleep overcome her as she felt her eyes turn heavy. Deciding to sleep she gently closed her eyes and drifted off right where she was leaving Xilo all alone with his thoughts. "Maybe that was to harsh, it's not like she deserved it.." But hearing that name he just couldn't control himself properly. "Sorry Xelfia." Rubbing her hair as he started to hear her breathing as well he apologized in his head as he let his thoughts run rampant until he eventually fell asleep himself.

With some time passing and the sun shining in their eyes eventually all three of them woke up with the rising sun. Xilo and Xelfia discussed a few things and talked a little bit with Relia watching before they set off in the same direction as before. As hours went by walking again eventually Xilo and Xelfia both spotted some wooden fences in the distance.

"Finally a town or something."

"Hopefully."

Getting closer buildings eventually started to appear in front of them that were mostly made of wood and from the size of each of them it looked less like a city and more like a town. But that was good enough for the two of them. it had people and that's all that mattered to them. Now they could figure out where they were and what to do next. "Thankfully we still weren't in the Astral Zone." He had already figured that out after exiting the forest but nonetheless he was still grateful for that fact. If he was still there he might have felt even more weird and worse then he did now.

"Well time to figure out where we are."

Walking up to the entrance of the town he noticed it wasn't that well protected but that was to be expected. "It's quite similar to my old home town." Connecting the similarities he walked up to the female guard that was in front of the entrance that carried a slightly lazy bearing but he didn't blame her. People coming here were probably rare.

"Excuse me."

Having to repeat himself a couple times to get her attention she finally snapped out of her daze while being slightly on guard facing them but Xilo ignored it as best as possible as he asked his question.

"Mind telling me the name of this place? We got a little lost."

"....it's Bearin"

"Bearin is it? Hmmm..Have you heard of this place."

"....."

Turning to Relia he thought she might have some knowledge about locations but instead he watched as she shook her head and sighed before he turned back to the guard and asked another question.

"Do you mind telling us where that is relative to bigger cities?"

"The closest one I can think of is Belturn."

"Oh...how far is that?"

"A couple weeks at best."

"I see thank you."

Hearing that he didn't really know whether to feel relieved that they weren't as far as he thought or to feel sad that they weren't further away from that place. "Oh well. Atleast I know where I am now." Now more important things needed to be done anyway.

"Mind if we enter."

Asking that and repeating a process similar to Belturn's the three of them walked into the town as the first big question that worried Xelfia the most popped into her head.

"So Xilo...How do you plan on making money?"

"Simple really..."

"....?"

"I plan to hunt."

"Wha..."

He had heard about the method to earn money before but since he never really needed it until now he had just ignored it and stored the information away for a later date and now that day had come he just had to hope what he was looking for was in this town. If not he could also trade some things to a shop owner and earn the same results regardless. The only difference would be the price they received in return. Plus with it being something he hadn't done before he was a little bit excited to try it out himself.

"Don't worry I'll show you. "
