"Do you think you can remember anything it said?"
"....No."
Looking at him as he hung his head she gave up on that question as she tried to ask something else.
"You mentioned not feeling in control? Was that for all of it or only the beginning."
"For the most part I never felt in control...The only time I did was around night."
Hearing that a little anger entered her voice as she spoke. Hearing such things to her was ridiculous especially after he had killed so many innocent people. "And yet he wants to say he wasn't in control for that." It wasn't a good look for him in the slightest
"And you want me to believe that?"
"No."
A little taken aback by his firm reply she blinked a couple times while she looked at him. "At least he's not an idiot." Not bothering to ask anything further on that line there was still one more thing that she wanted to ask that didn't make sense to her. "There was a giant gap between his second and third appearance but yet so much destruction was caused." About fifteen towns were destroyed in the year span that Xilo was roaming free, the problem with that though was the fact that about 8 or so of them were destroyed between the second and third appearance yet they found traces of him but no one ever physically reported seeing him except a couple people. It just didn't sit right with her so she was a tad bit curious.
"One more thing for now then you can rest."
"What is it?"
"After the first time we saw you around the second month of your transformation can you remember what you did in that time?"
Hearing such a weird question Xilo tried to think back to that time. "Wasn't I.....?" He remembered getting injured pretty seriously around that time and had hidden away after fighting with that old man for the first time.
"I was asleep during that time dealing with an injury."
".....For how long?"
"A month or two."
Hearing that more questions formed in her mind but she didn't have an answer. "Let's say he's telling the truth for this, Then that lines up with the data I collected about never seeing him but that brings up the question of did he really not do it or was it something or someone else?" Tossing that question around in her mind for a little bit she couldn't come up with any solid answers at the moment so she let it be for now. She clearly needed to look into it more if she wanted a precise answer but she didn't have that time for that at the moment. "I think I'll ask more things another time, he seems worn out already." Looking at how tired he seemed already she dropped trying to ask anything as the two of them sat in silence to give him a break.
"Why am I alive?"
Yet Xilo had some questions of his own that he wanted to be answered. It was just a matter of was he going to get the ones he wanted or not but it was worth a shot.
"Why does it matter? Isn't that something you should be happy about?"
"Normally sure but after what I've done most would be killed instantly so obviously something isn't right."
"I told you right? I need you."
"And that's what bugs me."
Sighing hearing his persistence she took a seat on the floor as she stared at the ceiling. "I suppose it's only fair." Sensing him as he copied her movements they sat across from each other as she decided to talk.
"I don't suppose you've hated someone with all your heart before?"
"I have....Many times this past year."
"Well...There's one person I hate as well and want to kill...but I can't do that alone."
"So how does that involve me then?"
"Simple, you're the key to my success and will do all the heavy lifting for me."
"With what strength?"
"Don't worry you'll be getting it all back eventually and more just a little more controlled."
"So I'm your pawn then."
"That's one way to put it."
"I don't have much of a choice do I?
"Nope, in fact it's already begun technically."
Ending it there she felt the small part of her soul pulse in his body as she looked at him and noticed the small strand of red hair that he had that was turning silver slowly. "We are one and the same from now on." Their connection was only going to keep growing stronger from this day onward without ever being able to be destroyed by either of them unless one of them died. "So Xilo will you be one to disappoint me? Or will you rise to the top with me." She didn't really know the answer to that question she could only hope her experiments worked and he grew strong so one day she could slaughter her father.
"Old fool."
Putting on a cold front she heard a knock on the bars that snapped her out of her daze as she looked up to see who it was.
"Who's an old fool?"
Standing behind there was her father with a smile on his face as he looked at the two of them. "Why is he here." Panicking she quickly sat up and put her guard up as she watched her father's every move. "This isn't normal." She had thought he wouldn't have ever come here on his own any time soon but it seems she had been proven wrong.
"It's you!"
Looking at that old man he had seen in his nightmares lately he barked that as he shot up and stared daggers at him, unfortunately though Xilo was now incredibly weak so he couldn't do much.
"Hello Althea."
Ignoring the monster that had a human body he greeted his daughter as he held a couple things behind his back. "Let's see your progress." He figured he could give her a little surprise and learn a few things about what she was up to if he was lucky.
