Risky Choice

"Tired?" Having that thought flash through his mind he heard a shout from behind that broke his concentration.

"Xilo, behind you!"

Hearing Felli's voice he subconsciously turned around as a set of black armour entered his vision. Realizing he was being attacked from both sides he was surprised to see a Warrior had gotten past Felli however that wasn't his main concern now. "Dammit, I dropped my guard." With more warriors blocking his way to escape he was forced to make a choice in that moment, either block the fireball or defend against the skeletons. Quickly making up his mind he spun around as the fireball neared his face.

Unfortunately it was already too late to do anything at the speed it travelled. "This is going to hurt." Bracing himself he did whatever he could to protect his body while he waited for the double attack that was incoming however something unexpected occurred before his eyes. He watched as the fireball split into five different ones before moving around his body ramming into the skeletons behind him and stopping them in their tracks.

Feeling lost for a second at such a sudden change of events he heard her speak once more as the cries of the warriors faded from his ears.

"Ahh sorry about that, it seems my friends failed in doing their job."

Hearing that he stared at the girl as a cheerful smile replaced her earlier look of seriousness. "What just happened? Stiffly he unhinged his body as a wave of anxiety wore off while he stared at her before looking around to see what she was talking about. There he saw the two men from before he thought were circling them leading away some of the skeletons from the horde in order to give Tearia a little bit of breathing room. Taken aback by such a change he didn't really know what to think in that moment.

"Uhmm?"

"We figured we would help you out since we're all stuck in here together. I hope you don't mind our rough approach didn't mean to scare you. We just weren't too sure about you yet."

"I see...."

Trailing off there he didn't know what to think about such a change in moods. Going from almost fighting them to them helping them out wasn't something he had expected at all. "Was I too hasty and what was it that she noticed?" Now he was just even more confused but he wasn't sure he was going to get an answer if he asked so he just left it alone. Sometimes you shouldn't question peoples thoughts or actions and besides they could use all the help they could get at the moment even if it seemed a little out of nowhere.

"Well thanks for the help I suppose."

"It's our fault anyway however what exactly are you trying to do, we've killed these things quite a lot already with no results."

"Just testing our luck at the moment mostly."

He didn't really feel like telling her any of the truth at the moment. "That might result with a knife in my stomach." He knew some people liked to play tricks like this on people so it was best to keep quiet for now and use them. Watching her approach a little bit he took a step back in return as he felt the crushed bones of Skeletons underneath his feet. Keeping some distance between them was crucial and she seemed to have realized that from the way he was acting.

"Well, If you want the five of us to lend a hand just tell us what to do for now. I'm sure we can be of some help."

"If you really want, go kill those skeletons your friends are dealing with and keep their attention."

Spitting that out he arrived next to Felli as a sense of calmness washed over him being next to her. For now he just wanted those people as far from him as possible while Tearia continued to move forward. "I wonder how much time we have left." Watching Tearia get closer to that Skeleton he had seen early that had small horns jutting out of its head he felt some relief that she had almost done it. "She really is impressive now however what's with her style?" Noticing the way she fought to get the skeleton Xilo had a couple questions in his head but they would have to wait for later.

"She did it."

Watching her approach the skeleton she attacked it with all her might as quickly as possible and there Xilo saw something he was looking for. "There's that core I saw before."He was pleasantly surprised at seeing that red orb glow as her fist struck its body revealing it slightly. Looking at his surroundings he made sure those five were occupied as he quietly told Felli what to say. He wasn't in any condition to be shouting right now so he let her do it instead.

"Tearia break that red core in it's chest."

Watching to see if they reacted to that he saw the brown haired girl stop for a split second in the midst of her fighting before going back to normal. "So that's how it is huh." Ignoring that he whispered something else in Felli's ear as he watched Tearia smash it's chest in. He didn't know what would happen next but he hoped it would be something useful to get them out of this place. Hearing a slight cracking sound from here he felt the ground begin to rumble all around him as something started to happen however within the next second all of that was drowned out in a second.

The room began to change all around him as another portal opened up in the room leading to a place unknown as more pillars pierced the ground showing themselves. "What's happening?" Feeling his body go unstable he grabbed onto Felli's shoulder as he watched Tearia run back to them. For this they needed to be together since anything could happen now.
