A Pure Red

Counting down the time left in her head she grabbed the leg coming straight for her as she lit her hands on fire. It might not be able to burn his insides but she could at least try to burn his skin and keep him wary of her while she tried to get a grasp on his little disappearance act. With a pure black flame that no longer had any white specs in it her flames strength deteriorated along with her mind as she grabbed his leg as her flame burst to life.

"He disappeared again, fucker."

Cursing under her breath she felt his body vanish as she tried to find traces of him again. "That was too fast and there weren't any kind of fluctuations. It was kind of like his body just faded at a touch of my hand." Trying to process that with what little time she had she had to think it through she realized the oddity. She couldn't track him down nor did she feel any kind of body fluctuations from moving or using energy. It may have just been her senses dulling but she had a gut feeling it was something more than that.

"So he's using projections."

Most likely that paper he had crushed before had created projections of himself to stall for time while he hid away in the smoke. "He hasn't seen something like this ever before but he adapted so quickly. "It seems she had underestimated this Hunter a lot more than she should have. Her mother's words may have led her to be a little too overconfident in her approach but now that she figured out the trick now. "Or I hope I did at least." The next attack she saw she was going to have to take a gamble. The only issue with that is how she found where he was hiding.

"This damn dust..."

She had kept it around to use to her advantage but now it was getting in her way so it looked like it was time to get rid of it. "To my right." Snapping to attention she felt a small presence that wasn't as clear as before as she faced it. Running towards it she knew it was a fake but that was fine. "You're not the only one with a few extra tricks to show. I do love a good performance after all." With that she took out a little vial that she had been keeping as she punched the man's fake as it attacked her. Watching it collapse she smashed the vial into the floor as a burst of Astral Wind spread throughout the place blowing away the dust.

Instantly she scanned the room only to notice him approaching Xilo as she bit her lip hard. "He's onto something." Bolting, she turned around and flung herself at him with the Wind helping her forward. Crashing into the man she managed to take him by surprise as she grabbed his arm with a death grip stopping him from moving any further.

"What do you think you're doing?"

"Nothing, why do you seem so agitated suddenly, you were just torturing these poor people and now suddenly they seem to be your friends. Why do you seem to be protecting them now?"

"None of your damn business, you parasite."

Crushing his arm she felt his bones cracking as she stared at him while her anger soared. With the increase in anger she felt herself quickening to an enraged state. "Dammit he just had to touch upon the one thing I didn't want him to." With less than a minute left she snapped his arm in her grip as the loud sound of cracking entered her ears. Even with all that though the man didn't flinch as he stared back at her with a mangled arm.

"Back away."

Her voice was filled with ice that could freeze the world solid as she spat that out.

"If I don't?"

With that tiny threat entering her ears she lost it as she ripped his arm off in mere seconds as her vision went black. "I need that vial." Tossing his arm away she fumbled around in her pocket as she found the thing she was looking for and downed it in an instant. Within seconds her body started to pump Demonic energy again as the cage she had surrounded it with was unlocked. Feeling her senses restoring that soaring rage didn't disappear but the suppression effect from the World's power kept her from doing anything as she watched the man silently walk and pick up his arm without saying a word.

"For someone human you sure seem like the real monster here."

"Ehhh I wouldn't say that. I'm more human than you at least."

With that he put his arm back in place as the World's energy spread to it and quickly attached it back in place. Looking up he saw her trick wore off as he smiled at having wasted enough time and figuring out a little secret along the way. "Time to end this I suppose." No longer worried about her now that was she was suppressed again he took out a small blade that he always used to finish demon's off however he didn't expect one variable. A blazing heat scorched his back without him knowing as he was taken off guard.

"What the?"

"Do you really think I'm that weak?"

Crushing the flames behind him she used up her one last little trick. This may have been the end of her performance but if she had dealt enough damage with that then maybe it was enough for the grand finish she was hoping for. Panting she steadied her breath as all of her senses focused on the man hoping she had won.

"Hunter's really are tougher then I had initially thought."

Looking at his hunched over figure she hoped he would just collapse where he stood as she counted down the seconds in her head that he stood still. One second had passed then two then three and more until a whole minute had passed without anything happening until eventually an unsettling laughter echoed throughout the room.
