With long black hair like felli's and a similar face that was just more mature than her own, most people would mistake them for twins at first glance. Another big difference between them was the cold and harshness that no one ever saw except Felli when she was alone with her mother. At one point in her life her mother used to be a caring, loving woman who spoiled her without question. That was just a shadow of the past now though, ever since she had awakened her space energy things had changed between them. Especially once her Grandfather died, that was the final thing that broke the bond between them and made their relationship what it was today.
"I've retrieved what you wanted and passed the test. I'm sorry it took so long, I ran into a few problems that had to be dealt with."
Regardless of what happened though Felli still loved her mother and yearned for approval. Even if it seemed so far away all she wanted to do was make her mother happy and she was willing to do anything for that. Even if it meant hurting herself in the process. "She's all the family I have anymore." She had plenty of step siblings and other distant family but those were just fancy ways to call them strangers. Her mother and Grandfather were all she had growing up in this place. She didn't know her Grandmother at all nor did she know her father. They were both missing in her entire life.
"Pass it here, I want to get a look at it, I could care less about the reason why you were delayed just make sure it doesn't happen again. You're better than that."
Her Grandfather told her very few tales about her Grandmother in the few times they talked about it and her mother blew a fuse every time she mentioned her Father even when she was younger. It was impossible to get anything out of her so eventually Felli learned to just give up asking. He could have been dead or just abandoned them, she didn't quite know but she did know her Mother refused to ever marry again and so it was just the three of them struggling to get by. Without their Grandfather around though they were treated like trash until mother began to change and rose up in the world becoming a queen on her own merit. Once that happened life became easier around others even if together it became harsher.
"You're right, I'm sorry, I won't let it happen again."
With her head slightly down as her hair covered her face she walked up to her mother and handed her the book she retrieved along with the giant crystal from her ring. Feeling the cold touch of her mother's hand she shivered as she quickly backed away. The fear she had for her would never fade, Felli had long learned her place in this relationship. "I'm the daughter who makes mother happy." Mistakes were punished and failures resulted in getting beaten till she was bruised or bleeding. There was no going easy between them and Felli had accepted that. Still though she hoped this might make her a little bit happy.
"Very good, it seems you didn't disappoint me this time around. Alright Take this back to your room and study it. You need to get better control over space while you can. While you're doing that I'll be moving on with the next step of the plan."
"Plan?
"Oh, didn't I tell you? We'll be moving on to the next phase now. I'm sending some people to begin as we speak, We need control and a lot of Astral Energy if we want to succeed."
"Why so soon though, I thought you still needed more time to prepare."
"Why so many questions? Ehhh whatever, I learned about a certain problem that would become a thorn in my side so I decided to speed up the process to avoid it. I'm not going to let some small arrogant group of rebels stop me."
"People are rebelling?"
"Not yet but they will be soon, now go study. I'll take care of this with ease."
"...Fine."
Never once raising her head to her Mother, Felli walked away with the book in hand leaving the Crystal there for her Mother. She didn't know who had the power to stand up against her mother anywhere in this country anymore but she wasn't going to ask anymore questions. She knew when to stop pushing her luck with how much she could ask from her. "She didn't seem happy..." Feeling her heart grow heavy with that thought she slowly walked back to her room. She didn't even ask once or give it a thought as to whether her daughter was okay. She simply ignored the marks on her body and blood on her clothes like they weren't even there.
"Grandfather...I don't know how much longer I can keep this up."
Passing by guards, they didn't even give her a glance as she made her way to her room. After some walking she finally arrived as she opened the doors and face planted into her bed. Instantly tears started to spill from her eyes as she let everything she had been holding in, out. In her room was the one place she could briefly feel like herself again. "Tearia....Xilo." Repeating their names without stopping she called out for her Mother as she once again felt a child. This time around though her Mother wouldn't come to comfort her like in the past. After a few more minutes she felt her tears run dry as she took out the book from under her body.
"No more tears...it's time to learn."
Wiping her eyes she looked at the first page as information entered her brain.
"I need to get a control of my space energy or nothing will ever change between us. No matter how difficult it is, I just want to do something for her..."
