Another Town Done

Letting time pass on for a bit, Xilo waited until the fox had finally calmed down. "I should be heading back now." As much as he wanted to let the Fox have more time, he couldn't. Time was running out for others and if he didn't make it on time the same thing could happen again. Beckoning the Fox over, Xilo watched it slowly pull itself away from her parents and into Xilo's arms. Looking at the Mother and Father's bodies Xilo thought about what to do for a moment. "I don't want to bury them here...." With that thought in mind Xilo chose to lift up their bodies and carry them back to the girls. He didn't have anything else to carry them with so he was left to do the lifting until he got to Tearia.

"Come with me, little one."

With a small sound escaping the fox Xilo didn't really know if it understood him. "Well it's following me." Walking through the door he saw the fox following him as he lugged their bodies over his shoulder. Ignoring the slight bit of stupidity he felt, Xilo did his best to focus on the bigger point as they walked all the way back together. He thought about healing the animals for a brief moment but they weren't sick enough to die soon nor would they be better soon enough to make use of, so he left them alone in the end.

After about an hour of walking back with two heavy bodies on his shoulders and a couple of stares from people he passed by, Xilo made it to their meeting point. It was a small little house near the building where they were keeping a majority of the sick people. Entering inside Xilo dropped the two bodies gently onto the floor as he felt some relief. "That was way tougher than I'd thought it'd be." Feeling the sweat drop down his face slightly he wiped it away as a pair of footsteps approached. Within a second a familiar woman was standing in front of him.

"You leave for a couple hours and you bring back a couple of dead animals...far from what I expected. Do you plan on eating them with that devour ability you have?"

Tapping her chin slightly Xelfia could only come to that conclusion, though usually he only took pieces for that.

"No...These are someone's parents, I don't plan on doing anything like that. I was hoping for Tearia to store them until we get a chance to properly bury them. It felt a little wrong to do it in a place they seemed to hate."

"What exactly happened while you were gone?"

"A bit of a long story...though we have another companion joining us."

"It's another girl isn't it...."

Feeling a little exasperating saying that Xelfia seriously hoped she was wrong.

"Errr, not exactly."

Looking down at his legs, he pushed the small fox out from hiding and introduced her to Xelfia. "It doesn't really have a name yet does it." Thinking about that, he watched as some surprise entered Xelfia's eyes while looking at the little fox. Moving closer to it, she pushed her hand out as she tried to get it to come close. "It's quite cute." She was a little curious why Xilo brought this back but she figured he'd explain when they were all here. "Tearia still needs more time before she's done." She knew they were supposed to protect Tearia but nothing had happened so far leaving them to boredom. She had tried talking to Relia a few more times but hadn't really gotten anywhere.

"A cute fox, or something else?"

"I don't really know as well but her parents entrusted her to me so she'll be hanging around with us."

"Her?"

Muttering that under her breath so Xilo didn't hear, the fox all of a sudden didn't appear as cute as before. "It really is another girl!" However, that didn't stop her from petting it more. With that all out of the way Xilo noticed Relia from the corner of his eye watching them, so he smiled at her. "And gone." Shaking his head he watched as she disappeared from his sight. Waiting the rest of the time out, Xilo filled his time with some relaxation as he got to know the fox a little more. With morning approaching Xilo heard Tearia's door open that she was working in.

"How'd everyone go?"

"It went pretty well, I'm done a bit early this time."

"Nice, Let's give that to the doctors and get going, I've got some stuff I want to talk about as well."

"Sure."

Leaving the Fox with Xelfia, the two of them went to deliver the cure they made as they explained the instructions to them. Once they were done hearing their thanks, the two of them left and returned back to where they were staying. With all of that done for this town, Xilo couldn't escape questions anymore as he answered everything for the girls. "Scary...." Looking at the girls in front of him, Xilo felt a slight shiver run up his back once he was done explaining. It took him almost twenty minutes to explain it all but it felt so much longer than that.

"Ahh right, I was hoping you could store her parents in your necklace..if that's okay?"

Looking at the man she loved very dearly, Tearia rolled her eyes as she walked over to them and put them in her necklace. "It's really getting cramped now." She had some complaints about the situation but in the end she didn't say no. Looking at the little Fox sitting in his arms she sighed. "I'm too soft." With that out of the way, Xilo felt some relief as he looked at the fox. "Now a name for you." With all the girls with him now he asked for their suggestions as they went through a list of names. That took another twenty minutes of constantly going back and forth until they eventually decided on a name.

"That settles that then, let's get going now."

With everything ready, the four of them made sure they had everything as they got ready for another long run. "No Astral Beasts this time either." It was looking like they would have to take a break mid way and hopefully find a wild Astral Beast to use instead. Otherwise this pattern was bound to continue for the rest of their trip. Walking out of the town Xilo looked down at the fox that hadn't left his side the whole time. Putting his arms down he let it climb onto his body as the morning sun hit his back.

"I hope you're ready for chaos, Kirel."
