Both Paths

Defending himself from two sets of attacks Laven did the best he could. "This girl." Looking at the woman with scales covering her skin Laven was having the most trouble with her. With the others' support they were doing some heavy damage to him. His body couldn't even keep up it's healing with all of this rapid damage leaving him in quite a tough situation. Blocking Xelfia's attack with his sword they fell into a lock as he tried his best to knock away the other's wind blades. Small cuts appeared on his skin as they shattered some ice shards with their impact. He did manage to minimise the damage as much as possible as a layer of water protected him.

After Xilo's explosion of ice he was rapidly losing control of his Celestial energy. Switching it's focus to primarily healing he dropped all his extra strength as he fought against the girls. "Dammit." From the corner of his eye he saw three more people coming straight for him. If all of those people joined the fight against him, he was in for some serious trouble. Getting more aggressive he gave up defending as he swung his sword at Xelfia while bringing out a second weapon. Holding a sword and dagger in his hand he attacked Relia as well.

The two of them backed up quickly as Laven's fighting style changed once more. They didn't have to for long though with Xilo rushing past them. Ducking under his dagger Xilo took out Ice Breaker without finishing the blade and stabbed into his side. Darin who was almost right behind him did his best to attack as well as a few plants tangled around his body to try and keep him in place. lastly Tearia came in beside the girls and waved to them before telling them to come help as a spear of lightning appeared in her hand. Thrusting it forward she stabbed it into his chest while he was stuck in place for a quick second.

"Are you three crazy!?"

Looking at the three of them throw themselves at Laven, Xelfia couldn't stop herself from blurting that out. Relia only shook her head as she pushed forward leaving Xelfia behind. "I need to end this fast." Her head was only hurting the longer this fight went on. She desperately needed a break and if this was what it took she was willing to do it. With her staff in hand, giant blades of wind formed in the sky the size of people all above Laven and pierced downwards. Breaking through his skin she managed to do quite a bit of damage. "None of them are strong enough." Even with all of them attacking they couldn't do a large enough amount of damage to make him stay down.

"I guess that leaves it to me."

Glancing down at the metal claws on her hand that glowed red, Xelfia put all the strength she had into this attack. She was only going to get this one chance and she couldn't afford to mess it up. Out of everyone currently here she was the only one strong enough to finish this. "What would you do without me Xilo?" Silently laughing at that question she got rid of her scales on the rest of her body as she focused everything on this. Watching all of them do their best to lock Laven down for her she took a deep breath. "Xilo already knew this was how it would end." Slightly crouching, her feet dug into the ground as she blasted forward with no hesitation.

"Why are you all like this! What makes you try so hard!?"

Unable to struggle free from all of them, Laven watched as Xelfia got closer to him. "I need to dodge!" If he didn't, those claws would pierce in an instant and kill him without question. "So powerful." He had thought he had gotten rid of the strong one of their group but now he saw how wrong he was. "I can't let them win." If he failed here all these corrupted people would escape along with the demon. So many innocent people would end up getting hurt because of his failure. "No, no, no!" Shaking his head he didn't want to imagine that kind of reality. It was too painful for him to think about more people losing loved ones or worse. He didn't have the energy to do anything to stop it though.

His Celestial power had stopped healing him now as it faded back into the world. "If only I was better with it." If he wasn't so awful using Celestial Energy this might have been a completely different fight. Xelfia got closer as Laven's eyes widened in fear. The only thing he could think of was his family being killed in a very similar fashion. Impaled by blades unable to do anything to defend themselves as their blood spilled onto the ground. The light fading from their lives as he and his sister ran for their lives. "Demons....all of you." Claws ripped through his body like paper as he felt blood running up his throat and down his stomach.

"Dem..ons..."

Metal was the only thing he tasted as he struggled to breathe like crazy while the life he had faded from him. "Is this really the end?" There was still so much more he wanted to do with his life and so many people he wanted to save. "Save people, who am I kidding." Dejectedly he only made fun of himself as he stared at the first demon he had met. If this one could manage to defeat him then how was he supposed to beat any others? Feeling Xelfia's claws slice through his stomach more he felt his vision beginning to fade. "I'm sorry Father, Mother...Celti" Xelfia ripped her claws out of his stomach, letting him fall to the ground without breathing.

"...Is it over?"

Looking at Laven's body Xilo tried to find any signs of life.

"I destroyed most of his stomach and his lungs. Even if he's still alive right now he won't be in a minute. He can't even breathe anymore...so yes it's over."

Looking up at the crowd above them Xelfia wondered what they were going to do now. Something like this was going to be hard to frame as an accident. "They all saw that." With the Queen looking down at the competition she tapped her chin before calling out to the judge. While everyone there decided upon things, Laven's body laid on the earth as he barely held on. "So this is what they felt." Counting down time until the end of his life Laven faced it with calmness. "Celestial Energy..maybe I should have used it more." He had denied that path in the very beginning and was regretting it now. "I should have...gone down both paths." If he could master both types of power he would be unstoppable. That was all just a distant thought now as his life seeped into the world.

Quietly the world's power started to move under his body while Laven's faded into the world of death.
