Sneaking Around

"Implying you don't want to anymore?"

"Indeed, when I was young there was something I wanted to forget. I tried for years and...it never worked for me once. It got to the point where I just accepted that memory as my fate."

Zelfin rolled his eyes when the Old man didn't explain what the memory was any further. "Whatever." He was more interested in him being unable to forget a memory. If he was actually using the method to get rid of memories then it was strange that it wouldn't work on him. "I'm a unique case." The old man knew exactly what Zelfin was thinking so he answered his question. "Other people tried it, I tried it. No one could make me forget." Being unable to forget was also something he wanted to figure out himself.

"Wanting to forget and being unable too."

Zelfin didn't feel any kind of sympathy, that just wasn't him.

"Yes, it wasn't easy but I moved past it. That boy on the other hand has probably forgotten whatever was locked away. Most people aren't similar to my situation. Which makes me very curious as to who would do such a thing and why. Going to such lengths...."

"Whatever he forgot or is hiding doesn't matter to me. I just want to kill him and be done with it all."

"Then do you want to forget to get stronger? Think about it a bit more and tell me. For now I'll continue healing you, we should get moving before it's dark."

Standing up, Zelfin stretched his body after taking a break. "Would I?" Even with the Old Man explaining the benefit of it he just didn't see any point to it. "Xilo came to the clan when he was young." Xilo had first arrived around the age of 8 years old. "So...was he forced to forget all that?" He knew he said he didn't care but anything about Xilo could be useful. If he could figure out how to remove that lock on his memories it might even help him win. "Surely a monster like that is hiding something dark." What would the human's he plays pretend with, think after finding out he did something horrible in the past.

"Would they run? Turn on him?"

Just thinking about that kind of scenario made him smile. How he would even begin to make it happen was something he would have to talk about with the Old Man more. Maybe if he had a couple more fights with Xilo he could potentially unlock it. "I don't know where he is anymore." Zelfin needed to get to a place and position where he could easily gather information. Then he could start looking for Xilo once more after he finished healing. "I'll be stronger the next time we meet." Zelfin would make sure next time wasn't the same as the first.

"Time is a wonderful thing is it not Xilo?"

Whispering into the wind he walked down the path towards the next City. Walking right behind Lexia, Xilo let her lead the way. After a few minutes of walking they eventually reached a dead end. Tapping on the wall Lexia made sure there was no one on the other side as she used a bit of her energy to open it up. Light shined in as they jumped down into an open hallway that was completely empty. Hearing the sound of the door they left slamming shut Xilo turned around to see a painting of a man staring down at him. The man in the painting was staring so intensely that it was a bit off putting.

"Uh, who is that guy in the painting Lexia?"

"Oh him? That's the current King of this place. In other words, my husband. Right now we're in the far corner of the Castle. Not many people come by here so it's a good place for us to sneak in without being caught."

Xilo was a bit curious as to why they were sneaking around in a place she lived in.

"So why are we sneaking around?"

Right before Xilo could get an answer Lexia grabbed his body and threw him against a nearby pillar. Feeling his back slam into the wall Xilo thought she was trying to fight him for a moment as energy entered his hands. It was until he felt her entire body push up against him that he settled down and paid attention. Feint footsteps were off in the distance and they were getting closer. "She noticed them before me." Pressed up against each other Lexia was trying her best to make sure they stayed hidden. "This only makes me more confused." He did his best to stay quiet though regardless of his current uncomfortable position.

"Quiet."

Their footsteps got closer as a view guard came into her view. "They're here early." She knew the general timing of their shifts so to see them here now meant something had changed. "Is he trying to mess with me?" Only her husband could make those kinds of changes. "No, he's probably just paranoid of attacks." That was the more reasonable line of thought that was devoid of her emotions. As much as she hated him, she knew he didn't care enough about her to do something like this. "We need to get to the soldiers training area, that's where most of them should be." Once the guards had passed by Lexia finally let Xilo free as she went out from behind the pillar.

"Finally..."

Xilo felt his ability to breathe come back once Lexia let him go, she was pushing herself against him far to hard and having his bones crushed wasn't fun.

"Alright, now that they're gone, where are we going?"

"We're going to spy on the big meet up that should be happening soon. If all goes well we should be able to listen in without being caught."

"And if we're caught?"

"I'll visit you in prison."

With a smile Lexia led the way.
