Two Kings

Following the sound of the horn Xilo looked up into the sky. His eyes grew wide as he looked at the sea of beasts in the air. The sounds he was hearing wasn't caused by a horn, it was caused by each and every single beast roaring at the top of their lungs. "I can barely count them." From his quick glance Xilo spotted one hundred beasts with ten of them standing at the centre. All of the others stood behind them waiting for their signal to stop. Turning to Lexia, Xilo didn't know what was going on. "Who's they? Why are they here." From the looks of it Lexia seemed to already know the answer to his questions.

"Oi, Lexia who the heck are all these Beasts, do you know them?"

Refocusing herself Lexia felt a bit of dread, she wasn't prepared for what was about to happen.

"Those are the Astral Beasts that lead Cestrin...it looks like there were a few more rats than I thought and they figured out today everyone was meeting here. From the looks of it I can see a blue barrier that blocks people from leaving. I don't know what they're planning to show up here but it's not anything good."

"If we can't leave doesn't that mean we're all dead then?"

Xilo knew the disparity in their strength and what it meant for everyone here.

"No, with everyone here we aren't outmatched. I doubt Cestrin's King will fight now with terrible odds unless he's hiding something."

Xilo took his word for it as the voice of Lexia's husband rang into the air. Lexia's husband was an older man with black hair and blue eyes. He wore a long dark red robe that was mixed with purple stripes along the arms and legs. If Xilo didn't have any information prior to seeing him, he would have thought he looked like a sage. "So this is the King, Landal Tidal." Following Landal's line of sight Xilo saw a giant beast present itself to Landal. "And this is Cestrin's King." A giant beast the size of a house Floated forward with the wings on its back.

Orange scales covered its body like a lizard, with two smaller arms snaking out and legs near the bottom of its long snake-like body. "A Wyvern as the King of Beasts?" The only reason Xilo wasn't too sure about its origins was because the King had three large heads that split off. Each head had different coloured eyes and a different element attached to them. "Fire, Ice and Lightning." Along with its wings that were much larger than an average Wyvern Xilo assumed it was probably a mixed breed of a Wyvern. "Some dragons did like to taint their bloodline or so Xelfia's mother said." Whatever it was now, it would never come close to being a Dragon no matter how hard the King tried. The power the King carried today though was up there in the strongest he'd seen, only losing to a few.

"It's an honour to meet you, King of Beasts, Drahal. I never expected to see you today, to what do I owe the pleasure of this visit?"

Even though his words were calm and polite, Landal was already preparing for a fight. In this war they were the weaker ones in terms of strength. "Which means he's planning something." As much as Landal wanted to take this opportunity to force a fight he knew Drahal wasn't an idiot, if he came here then he was prepared. "Besides, not everything is ready." Landal didn't want a close fight, he wanted an outright slaughter. He wanted every single Astral Beast in the world to die and be hunted down like wild animals. To him they were nothing more than targets to be cut down. Since that couldn't happen right now he was forced to calm his rage.

"Just you wait, Drahal...you and all the other Astral Beasts will pay for what you did. You've looked down on us for generations and I've always tolerated that. You also poked and stabbed at me, trying to irk me on and I tried to be kind regardless. This time though you've pushed your luck and went too far."

There was once a time where he didn't mind Astral Beasts, he even liked them. Glancing at a balcony faraway in the distance he knew that time was long gone. Now he hated Astral Beasts down to his very core and there was no turning back. "You killed her....you killed them and then you tried to hide it. Like human life is just some game to you." He knew that they had died for a long time now; this recent destruction of the Astral Zone was finally an opportunity for him to fight. He wouldn't allow any more people to be toyed and played with like he was. Astral Beasts wouldn't look down on them anymore and he was going to make sure of it.

Drahal didn't even bother looking down at Landal below him as a rough deep voice rattled in his throat.

"I came to talk today that is all, so you can stop trying to kill me with your stare alone. It's rather annoying."

Hearing Drahal speak about having a talk together almost made Landal laugh. The mighty King wanting to talk with a lowly human almost sounded like a joke to him. Listening to their conversation Lexia's heartbeat never slowed down. It only got faster as she kept staring at Drahal. Her mind became fuzzy and her thoughts started to float away. "What's...happening?" Raising a hand to her head Lexia steadied herself before she tripped over and fell. "Why do I recognize that voice?" She had seen images of Cestrin's King over the years but never heard his voice. Landal would often be the one to speak with him on the very rare occasions that it happened. "I feel...sick." Finding herself lurking forward she knew she was about to eat the ground beneath her feet.

"Whoa there, Lexia. Are you okay?"

Grabbing onto her, Xilo was surprised at how hot Lexia's body had gotten, she was completely burning up.

"Lexia?"

He didn't receive any reply as the two Kings continued to talk.
