Captured

Tearia stayed behind taking care of Rana who was still lying in bed. A few people were patrolling outside keeping guard for her while everyone else had left already. They needed someone to stay back and watch the base, along with being unable to leave them alone for too long it was perfect for Tearia. "They'll be alright." Checking on Rana's temperature Tearia replaced the towel on his forehead as she gave him another pill to ease the pain. Everyday he had woken up screaming in pain, struggling to move even just a little bit. After the first few times Tearia had decided it was best if she just kept him asleep the whole time.

"Losing the ability to use something your whole life isn't easy."

Staring at her arm she knew a bit about what was going on in Rana's head. Once she had made sure he swallowed it she sat back down on her chair next to her as she moved on to her other patients. There wasn't any time for resting just yet, more needed medical care. While she took care of everyone Tearia heard a very loud explosion from afar. Turning in its direction she assumed it was probably everyone fighting. "Looks like it's not an option." She had figured they would be stealthy about it, with that kinda noise though everyone would soon know. Another explosion sounded, this time it was much closer than before.

"That first one sounded pretty far away, it sounds like it's getting closer though."

Standing up Tearia figured she should take a quick look just in case something happened. Before she could even take a step she heard multiple people grunting outside of their house. "Someone's here." Sending out her Astral Energy she checked for any signs of life. A couple of people had fallen to the ground with blood leaking out of them yet there wasn't anyone else. "Someone attacked them so where are they?" Hearing something behind her, Tearia panicked as she turned around. It was only one of her patients groaning in their sleep. "Nothing." Letting out the air she was holding she got ready to fight.

*Shrlk*

A searing pain attacked her head as a few planks of wood fell on either side of Tearia. Feeling dizzy, Tearia's body lurched forward with no way of stopping and slammed into the ground. "Dammit." Barely keeping herself awake she looked at the attacker standing right behind her. "They snuck up on me." A few masked people stood behind a man with a golden crown on top of his head. "Landel...!?" Trying to crawl away, Landel grasped her leg and pulled her in. With her weak arm there was nothing she could as lightning surfaced on her body. He brushed it off with ease as he kept her in place.

"Let go of me!"

"No can do girl, if you thought I'd let your friends get away with their plan so easily then you're in for some trouble. You and everyone else here will be coming with me."

Raising her voice Tearia tried to alert any of the guards around to come and help her.

"Shout all you want, they're all dead. No one is coming and no one knows I'm here. Even if they did, not like they could save you. Tie her up, along with the rest of the people here. They're important so try not to kill them just yet. I've got a few plans in mind for them, especially the girl."

With her legs being bound together, Tearia felt her Astral Energy slipping away from her. "There's nothing I can do." Without it she would pass out in no time after such a hard hit to the head. She wasn't concerned for herself though, she was worried about everyone here. If she wasn't able to take care of them, then there would be a good chance they would die. "Dammit." Slamming her fist on the ground weekly, Tearia felt her arms get tied up. Shouting more she wasn't calling for any guards like Landel thought. She was trying her best to wake everyone up so they could run away. It was no use though, no one heard her and stayed asleep.

Except for one man who had been awake for a while now.

"Those scum."

Rana knew there was nothing he could do in his current state. He couldn't just lie there while he watched them take everyone away. "I have to do something." Rocking himself out of his bed Rana stood up as he looked at the scene in front of him. Tearia was tied up along with a few others as Landel watched from the side. Rana's back screeched in protest from his actions yet he still stood. "Let them go!" Shouting that as loudly as he could his voice didn't even reach a whisper. He did manage to get their attention though as Landel turned his way. Landel looked at the man with a crazed smirk, this one was the one that they had managed to cripple.

"Oh, looks like you can still stand after all. I thought for sure my men would have crippled you for life if they didn't take your life. Quite lucky you are, are you sure you want to push that luck though?"

Rana could feel the anger inside of him rise as he took a slow step forward.

"I said, let them go."

"You're not scaring anyone, in your current condition I doubt you can even move much more-"

"Run Rana!"

Tearia shouted that with the last of her energy, Rana was her only hope of telling Xilo what happened.

"Oh, it seems like you've given this girl some hope with your pitiful state....I wonder, what would happen to her if I were to kill you? You're not on the list I gathered of important people so it shouldn't hurt to lose one extra person."

A crooked grin that could reach the moon landed on Landel's face as he saw Tearia's face twist in horror. Taking out a small knife Landel twirled it around in his hand as he walked closer to Rana. Taking his sweet time he savoured the moment as Rana stopped moving. Shrinking in fear Rana knew there was nothing he could, he was struggling just for the sake of it. Even if he wanted to run he knew there wasn't any way he could escape. "I guess I need to take a risk." With his head barely thinking straight he faced that knife head on as he saved up every last drop of his power.

Landel came in front of him as he laughed in glee.

"It's quite nice seeing people break, I should've tried it sooner."

Pointing the knife right at Rana, Landel dug it straight into his heart as Tearia let out a yell of pain and passed out.

"You tried to play hero and died for it, blame yourself if you're angry."

Blood drenched his knife as Landel let Rana's lifeless body fall to the ground.
