Hunting Legends (Updated)

Chapter 7: The Silverback's Growth & A New Challenge

One week after capturing Go, our MC sat inside the cave, instructing a small Silverback perched on his shoulder—a miniature version of Go, thanks to the rune he'd placed on him.

"Go, I need you to take the rest of the pack and venture deep into the forest. Find me monster lairs or camps to raid, okay?"

Go nodded, hopped off, returned to his normal size, and led the pack away. As our MC watched them disappear into the distance, memories of the past week flooded his mind.

'Having someone with you while farming for EXP is great.'

It had been an exciting week working alongside Go and his pack. With Go's memory intact, they discovered numerous strong monster lairs. While exploring, Go would often signal for him to follow—one such instance led them to a pack of Battle Boars, stronger than the Silverbacks native to Floors 11–12 of the dungeon. Hunting these beasts granted significant EXP for both of them.

Unlike humans, monsters like Go used levels to represent their realm, but Go wasn't bound by a fixed level cap—he could grow and evolve, though his current limit in this world was P.Legend (Level 10). According to J, once they left this world, Go's level cap would increase. For now, everything was going smoothly.

Together, they had slain over 300 monsters. The four other Silverbacks weren't used much since they neither gained nor contributed EXP. Instead, they served as decoys and barriers for strategic hunts. Thanks to Go's help, our MC reached Level 12, while Go evolved to Level 6 and ascended to the P.Hero realm. His skills improved: 🔹 {Beast Roar} upgraded to {Beast Might} 🔹 He gained a new ability: {Smash} 🔹 His intelligence increased, allowing him to better understand commands

To simplify things, our MC crafted a rune that enabled Go to adjust his size. Since Go lacked magic, it took three days to teach him how to use the rune's stored energy based on intent. The rune offered three preset sizes: • Shoulder-sized2-meter tallGiant form

Though Go couldn't generate mana, the rune had a built-in storage system requiring periodic refills.

Our MC also equipped Go with additional runes: • Teleport Rune: Allows instant teleportation to Go's location in emergencies. • Call Rune: A distress signal Go can activate. • Defensive Rune: Can withstand:

1 Legend-realm spell

3 P.Hero spells

5 Hero-realm spells

With transparent runes, their hunts became more thrilling. One time, our MC used gravity magic to lift Go 100 meters above a monster camp, then increased their weight tenfold before freefalling straight into battle. The impact formed a massive crater, throwing the camp into chaos. Without activating his domain, our MC challenged Go to a kill-count competition—naturally, he won.

"What a good day."

Suddenly, a signal from Go interrupted his thoughts. He teleported to the source, finding Go and the pack—but no monsters.

"Why did you call me, Go? Where are the monsters?"

Go pointed toward the horizon. Our MC activated his domain and gasped at what he saw:

A Unicorn.

"Wait… this can't be a Unicorn, right? This is one of the rarest monsters in existence—so elusive that even high-level adventurers rarely encounter it."

"Damn. My luck stat must be maxed out, even if it doesn't show in my status window."

But it didn't matter. He had made up his mind.

"I'm capturing you no matter what. Look at those wings! One of the top monsters on my list to tame—right alongside dragons."

"Go, stay here. I don't want you getting hurt. That's a Legend-realm monster."
