Chapter 14: The Birth of a Home (Updated)

The warmth of that first embrace. The kind words—so foreign, yet so familiar. The overwhelming surge of emotions forced me to return the hug, tears streaming down my face. Mother gently patted my back, consoling me, while Father furiously berated the orphanage worker, demanding to see the manager.

By the time the manager arrived, I had finally calmed down. Mother took my hand, standing beside Father, her gaze cold and unwavering.

Father: "How could your workers mistreat the children in this orphanage? Every child here is your responsibility. You should be doing your best to support them, to help them build a better life—that's why you're getting paid, isn't it?"

The manager shot a harsh glare at the worker before turning to Father with a sickeningly polite smile.

Manager: "Sir, I truly apologize for my worker's actions. Rest assured, I will ensure he is properly disciplined."

But Father wasn't fooled. He knew empty words when he heard them. If the manager truly cared, that worker wouldn't have had the audacity to speak about a child in such a manner, especially in front of potential adopters.

Still, Father knew he couldn't act openly—yet.

Instead, he informed the manager of their intention to adopt me and demanded the paperwork. The manager complied, oblivious to the fact that Father had connections—that once this process was done, he would personally ensure every corrupt individual responsible for this disgrace suffered the consequences.

Shortly afterward, I learned the manager and worker were fired, replaced with a new head. As for the school—police arrived. Turns out, the teacher who refused to help me had been taking a cut from the gang leader I fought.

That piece of filth.

It was then that I understood two fundamental truths:

Power is necessary—to take what you need, to protect yourself.

But abusing it, using it to trample others—only breeds pain and suffering.

A New Purpose

Back in the present, the thought struck me like lightning.

"Aren't I just like my father? I hold power—so why not use it to help others, as he did for me? To give them a family, a home?"

I lifted my gaze to the sky.

"Father, thank you for everything. Your son will follow your example—I will make a home for those in need."

Pegasus tilted his head. "Sire, what do you mean?"

"A new plan, Pegasus. I will still follow my original path… but from now on, I will build a home—a family—for those who need me. They will be my family, and I will be theirs."

"As you wish, my king. Whatever you do, I shall follow."

"Then let's go. I have plans to make."

I mounted Pegasus, taking flight toward home—the sensation exhilarating.

One Week Later – Departure for Orario

Now, seated atop Pegasus, I soared toward Orario, the grand city. Much had happened in the past week—a whirlwind of battles, planning, and revelations.

🔹 Level Up: After multiple fights, I reached Level 14. My body skill, {Warlock Might}, evolved into P.Legend, pushing me to become the only Level 10 adventurer in this world.

🔹 World Travel Crystal: I learned of an item—costing 50,000 WP—that allows travel between worlds. Farming for it will take time, but I have no intention of leaving soon.

🔹 Joining Hestia Familia: To build my home and family, I need Hestia's position and name as a goddess. Unlike other gods, she is hardworking and dedicated to her children. She has no one in her familia, while others are well-established. I need her title and presence to cement the foundation of my familia. Eventually, when I leave, someone worthy will need to look after it—I will either teach her or find a successor.

🔹 Recruitment: My planned members include:

Haruhime

Aisha Belka

Bell Cranel

Liliruca Arde

Yamato Mikoto

Ais Wallenstein

Welf Crozzo

Ryuu Lyon

I devised strategies to recruit each of them. Some, like Welf and Ais, were deeply tied to their familias—but others hated theirs, had no ties, or were lost in their pasts, like Ryuu.

🔹 Strength & Growth: I will train every one of them, ensuring they reach at least Level 7 or 8 before I leave. Their problems will be resolved—their home secured.

Arrival at Orario

As Orario loomed on the horizon—10 kilometers away, glowing under the afternoon sun—I signaled Pegasus to land.

With a final command, I recalled him, continuing on foot to avoid unwanted attention.

Standing at the grand gates, I inhaled deeply, my heart thrumming with anticipation.

"Let the adventure begin."
