Jack Graham also known as Ciphersyntax or affectionately as Cipher, is one of the few top-tier PvP players of the game known as YGGDRASIL.  However, despite being YGGDRASIL, the game was merely therapy for him as it kept his mind off of his deceased younger sister who died tragically in front of him. So killing other players in duels and raids slowly lost its appeal and roleplaying became an allure to him as an another escape from reality.

Jack, a man from Europe living in Japan, met Suzuki Satoru at his place of business and eventually the two of them bonded as friends. Learning they both played YGGDRASIL, Suzuki invited the guildless Jack to the Guild known as Ainz Ooal Gown. It had been years since then and he had become an integral member of the Forty One Supreme Beings in the Heteromorphic Guild. 

Ciphersynatx was widely referred to as The Great Devourer, or the All-Consumer, due to his main super-tier spell called Assimilation which allowed him to absorb NPCs and Players within a certain level range to himself to gain additional attributes, spells, skills and jobs. 

As the end days of YGGDRASIL came nearer and the other members of the Guild began to quit. It was eventually only down to Momonga and Cipher in the end, neither wanting to part from this virtual reality.

Overlord and the Seraphim

『Hygiene』: Takes care of basic hygiene of target(s).『Obtained from Nigun』


『Flash Step』: Extreme and Brief Speed Boost, appears to others as a low grade form of teleportation magic. It can be used in rapid succession with low Mana usage.


『Greater Hygiene』: Takes care of advanced hygiene of target(s), and prevents illness and disease. 『Obtained from Nigun』


『Print』: Automatically writes messages for the caster without needing a pen or quill and ink onto parchment or other material closest to dominate hand.


『Saint Sanity』: Rewires the brain, restores clarity and regular thought, to an individual with mental afflictions. However in a way, it is also a brainwashing technique, forcing an ideal image onto someone's mind.


『Memory Sweep』: This spell is cast through touch, wiping the memory of the target regarding certain events, people or some other form of information. 『Lesser version of Control Amnesia』


『Glamourize』: Changes the appearance of things, often used as a way to place vanity over other objects or to hide one's true nature. When used in the New World, the only way to learn of this falsehood is to touch or feel the affected item, appendage or individual. However someone with the All-Seeing-Eye will see magic abnormally seeping off of the affected object.


『Greater Identification』: Identifies data values and lore of another Individual.


『Phase』: Allows the caster to walk through solid objects, including people. The user becomes intangible while using this spell with everything except for the ground beneath them.


『Summon 7th Cupids』: Summons multiple range-attack based Angels.


『Mark』: Marks a target for possession.


『Inhabit』: Inhabits the individual(s) who has been marked for possession.


『Devour』: Single Target version of Assimilation. Has a five minute cooldown.


『Nuclear Detonation』: Turns an inanimate target into a nuclear bomb, can be used with delayed magic, to pause the timer from beginning its countdown temporarily.


『Self-Sacrifice』: 50% of caster's HP is sacrificed in order to purify a large area against the natural occurrence of undead rising for one year.


『Mass Destruct Undead』: Holy shockwave which obliterates low to mid-tier undead in a large area of effect. This however doesn't damage high tier undead originating from YGGDRASIL.


『Benevolent Death』: Status Effect that freezes Karma values of the caster.


『Lesser Resonance』: Increases the Karma Values of the Caster by +100.


『Memory Meld』: Allows the duplication of skills, knowledge and magic spells to another individual without having the need for them to study. However in return for the use of this spell, there is a 5% EXP loss from the target and a minor headache. When used three times consecutively, the target will become mentally exhausted. Using it six times consecutively within a few hours can cause a brain hemorrhage. The exhaustion however can be remedied by a high tier healing spell or lesser healing potion. When used on an Undead, it is a 10% EXP loss. Those with the Magic Affinity Talent only suffer from a minor headache from excessive use.


『Time Stop: Area』: Stops Time in an area, including inanimate objects.


『Greater Resonance』: Maximizes the Karma Values of the Caster.


『Suffer and Rise』: Resurrects target at full status, sacrificing half of their levels in the process.


『Assimilation』: Super-Tier version of Devour, has a 30 Day cooldown.


『Dear Goddess』: Super-Tier Resurrection Spell which revives without level cost or side effects, but the sacrifice of an unequipped high class item of choice.
