Chapter 2: Engaged

2 years later…

In the living room of a castle, I sat Chloe, Janie, and a woman who was a queen. The woman had her long dark brown hair up into a bun and blue eyes. She wore a long dark blue dress, black heels, and a crown with blue diamonds throughout it. In the living room was a gray couch and matching loveseat and chairs, a glass table, a white brick and glass fireplace that had a Cross on the mantle, a gray bookshelf that had Christian books on it, a self portrait of Chloe and her family hanging on the wall, built in lights in the ceiling, and a tree in a flower pot. Janie and the woman sat on the couch while Chloe sat in a chair, looking around. The woman and Janie chuckled, and Janie said, "I've never seen you more nervous in my life, Chloe." Chloe said, "Huh? Oh, I'm sorry, Mama. It's just that we were supposed to be going out to dinner, and Daddy, Brandon, and his dad, I mean His Majesty, and they aren't back yet." The woman chuckled and said, "Oh dear child. Why does that bother you so?" Chloe said, "Well, Your Majesty, I know how my daddy gets around Brandon, and we've been courting for a while now, and well, I'm worried." The woman asked, "Worried about what child?" Chloe answered, "What they're talking about." Janie and the woman chuckled, and Janie asked, "What could they be talking about?" Chloe replied, "I don't know, that's why I'm worried." The woman said, "I'm sure your father, His Majesty, isn't saying anything you wouldn't want him to, to my son." Janie said, "She's right. Your father isn't saying anything negative, I promise." Chloe said, "I hope not." Brandon, Gustes, and a man (Brandon's father) entered the room laughing. The man wore a dark blue suit, black dress shoes, and a silver crown with diamonds throughout it. He had light brown hair and dark brown eyes. Gustes said, "Our sincerest apologies for keeping you three waiting." Gustes walked over to Janie, Brandon's dad walked over to Brandon's mom, and Brandon walked over to Chloe. Brandon walked in front of her chair, grabbed her hands, and said, "My outermost apologies for keeping my beautiful love waiting. She stood up, hugged him, and said, "I'm just glad you're back, and nothing went on." Brandon said, "Actually, Your Highness, I would like to have a word with you in the ballroom." Chloe asked, "Right now, but aren't we supposed to be going out?" Brandon said, "Yes, but there's something I want to show you in the ballroom." Chloe said, "Alright," and they all walked to the outside of the ballroom. Chloe said, "I hear music and people." Brandon said, "You do? Well, Your Highness, let's go inside and check." They went inside the ballroom to see it filled with guests, butlers serving people, guards, and orchestra members playing music. Chloe chuckled and asked, "What is this?" Janie said, "It's an engagement ball." Chloe said, "Well, who's it for?" Gustes said, "You." Chloe said, "Me but I'm…" Chloe was interrupted by Brandon. He grabbed her hand, got down on one knee, and pulled out a ring from his suit pocket. The whole room went silent, everyone stared at Brandon and Chloe, and Brandon said, "Your Highness we've been courting for 2 years now and I knew from day one that I wanted you as my wife. You are everything I was looking for in a woman. Will you please do me the honors of being my wife?" Tears rolled down her cheeks, and she said, "Yes, yes, I'll marry you." The whole room clapped as he put the ring on her finger, stood up, and hugged her. An announcer announced, "Announcing His Highness Prince Brandon and his fiance Her Highness Princess Chloe. Announcing His Majesty King Gustes, Her Majesty Queen Janie, His Majesty King Timothy, and Her Majesty Queen Trina." The music started to play, and the guests and the kings and queens went to the dance floor and started dancing. Brandon said, "Your Highness. My beautiful love, will you please do me the honors of dancing with me?" Chloe said, "Yes, my love." Chloe and Brandon danced the night away.
