Chapter 47: Leaving the Council

Natsu woke up the next day due to someone's shaking. When he opened his eyes, he saw Virgo's face inches away from his, staring at him with an emotionless expression. She looked like she was about to kiss him. Natsu was surprised by this, looking at her with a deadpan stare. He knew this m-chan was up to no good.

"You're finally awake, my prince. Couldn't you wake up a bit later? I was about to kiss you to wake you up." Virgo spoke with an annoyed expression. She was excited about kissing him. She'd read a lot of kids' stories where the prince kisses the sleeping princess awake. She wanted to try it with her master as well.

"I'm not some sleeping beauty that needs a kiss to wake up. By the way, good morning, Virgo. Why are you here so early in the morning? I didn't summon you." Natsu asked with a yawn. He was still feeling quite sleepy. The bed was too uncomfortable for a night of proper sleep.

"Good morning, my prince. I'm here to do my duty as your maid. I can summon myself as well." Virgo replied, bowing a little. She acted just like a typical maid.

"Didn't the contract state you would only need to assist me in combat? You don't have to do this. I don't want to force you to do something you don't like." Natsu asked confusedly. He didn't understand why Virgo would do so much for him when she didn't have to.

"I'm doing this willingly. I want to serve all your needs. So, please make full use of this maid." Virgo replied with a hopeful gaze, making Natsu feel uncomfortable. She looked like she was waiting for his commands.

Natsu sighed and stood up from the bed, approaching Virgo. He kissed her forehead gently and lovingly whispered. "Then, let me thank you for your service, Virgo."

Virgo's cheeks became flushed after Natsu spoke, making her unable to reply. Natsu smiled wryly while looking at her embarrassed expression and just patted her head. He kept stroking her beautiful pink hair gently. He was quite fond of her hair since it was the same color as his own.

While they were enjoying their happy moments, the same frogman appeared outside his cell and shouted, causing the pink atmosphere to crumble. "Natsu Dragneel, you've completed your sentence. Now you're free to leave the prison. Please leave this cell room immediately."

Natsu was pissed after hearing this. That damn frogman disturbed one of his happy moments, again. He stopped patting Virgo's head and approached the prison bars, grabbing them tightly. He glared at the frogman hatefully. "You damn frog! I'll fu*king wipe out your entire race if you keep annoying me. Leave before I decide to roast you alive."

The prison bars started melting due to high heat. The temperature of the environment had also increased by several degrees due to Natsu's anger. It looked like the whole prison was about to have a melt due to the scorching heat. The frogman was sweating profusely watching this. He was unable to reply due to Natsu's glare, falling on his buttocks while unable to do anything.

Virgo embraced Natsu from behind and said in an emotionless voice, which sounded strangely gentle. "Please calm yourself, my prince. You shouldn't get worked up so easily."

Natsu calmed down hearing this and took a deep breath to relax his nerves. He looked at Virgo thankfully and patted her head tenderly. "Thank you for that, Virgo. I shouldn't get angry at such a small thing. I'm alright now, you can return to the spirit world. I need to head back to the guild."

Virgo nodded and returned to the spirit world. Natsu turned toward the frogman and said coldly. "Move your ass already. I want to leave this place as soon as possible. Or do you want to get roasted again?"

The frogman nodded nervously and hurriedly opened Natsu's prison cell. Natsu left the cell and headed outside. He wanted to leave this place as soon as possible.

But on the way outside, he met with a blue-haired guy with a strange red tattoo above and under his right eye. This was the hateful bastard that ruined Erza's childhood. Natsu had to try really hard not to punch that smug-looking face.

Jellal looked at Natsu with an amused smile making Natsu irritated.

"Natsu Dragneel! This is a warning, stay away from Erza," Jellal said in a low voice when passing by Natsu. He wanted to warn Natsu away from associating with Erza. Erza has a vital role in his plan, after all. He doesn't want someone to ruin all of his hard work.

Natsu didn't take his words seriously and just replied coldly. "Like I would! If you ever try to harm her, then I'll blast you off to the moon."

Jellal didn't mind Natsu's threats. He sighed and shook his head. He believed that he was stronger than Natsu, so he just left the place and headed toward his office. He didn't want to argue with a little brat.

"Tch… I hate this bastard. No matter how cool he becomes in the future, he's still an asshole currently. I won't let him trouble Erza any further than he already has." Natsu mumbled while leaving the magic council. After he was far enough away from the council, he teleported back to the guild. He didn't want to waste his time traveling when he could just teleport there.

Ultear was hiding nearby like a creepy stalker and kept watching his figure even after he teleported, sporting a fond smile while watching his retreating figure. She greatly enjoyed their time together.

"It was nice meeting you, Natsu. I wished we could have met a lot sooner, but time is cruel. It's already too late for us to be together. The next time we meet will not be as friends but as enemies. So goodbye, my little dragon!" Ultear muttered with a gentle tone, which turned slightly sad in the end. She shook her head to get rid of all unnecessary thoughts and left the place. She still has some tasks left to accomplish after all.
