Chapter 51: Iced Shell
"One!" Gray continued the countdown. He looked at Lyon intensely. It looked like the spell was almost complete.
"Go ahead! I know you're not brave enough to risk your own life," Lyon bellowed with a snarl. Gray sighed and mumbled to himself, "I'm sorry Ur. I couldn't save him. I'm sorry, Natsu, Erza, Master. Farewell!"
"Zero. Iced Shell ACTIVATE!" Gray howled, looking at Lyon intensely. He completed the spell, and soon, his body started turning into ice. Lyon was astonished, he hadn't believed that Gray'd actually do it. After regaining his bearings, he wanted to escape, but he was unable to break free from the ice debris coming from Gray.
When it looked like Gray was going to transform fully into ice, an intense heatwave spread out all over the place, disrupting the spell. Gray was surprised by this turn of events, quickly bringing his attention towards the intruder. It was the same pink-haired bastard that always bullied him.
Natsu had a broad smile while looking at him while Lyon just stared at the intruder in confusion.
"Right on time! If I were a bit late, then this idiot would have turned into a popsicle permanently," Natsu casually uttered while approaching Gray. Gray looked at Natsu with a miserable expression, shakily standing on his feet. It was difficult for him to even stand due to all of his injuries and the backlash from the failed 'Iced Shell'.
"What are you doing here, N-Natsu! Anyway, it doesn't matter why you're here. Leave him to me. He's my responsibility. I don't want you to meddle in my affairs. Just give my farewell to others." Gray insisted, trying to once again cast the 'Iced Shell' spell, but Natsu quickly stopped him by grabbing his hands.
"What do you think you're doing? Do you think killing yourself will solve anything?" Natsu bellowed angrily, making Gray shocked speechless. He didn't think Natsu would be so angry at him.
"Then, what else can I do? I want to stop Lyon from reviving Deliora at all costs!" Gray screamed with tears pooling in his eyes. He didn't want the hateful demon to get revived. He'd had enough of it already. Lyon looked at their conversation curiously without any intention of disturbing it.
Natsu looked at Gray with a smile, making him confused, but before he knew it he blacked out. Natsu had karate chopped his neck, making him fall into unconsciousness. He placed Gray somewhere safe before turning his attention to Lyon.
"Who are you? And why did you interfere in our fight?" Lyon asked, trying to fish for some information. He looked at Natsu extremely seriously. Anyone capable of stopping the 'Iced Shell' so easily must be powerful.
"Oi oi, you should thank me first. If not for my interference, you'd be sealed inside Gray forever. Did you want to be inside Gray so much? Eww… That's so gay…" Natsu mocked with an amused smile. Lyon was embarrassed after hearing such shameful words and shouted.
"Shut up! I'm not gay. Who wants your help? Even if I were sealed, my comrades would have still unsealed me in the future. Your help was unnecessary." Natsu didn't mind his outburst and just shook his head and sighed.
"I know that. That's why I'm not going to seal you up, but before that, I'm going to beat you into a bloody pulp. Nobody messes with our guild. I'm going to melt that frozen brain of yours." Natsu warmed up and stretched his body, looking ready to fight.
"Huh!? I thought Gray was the only idiot, but I guess his entire guild is also filled with idiots hahaha…" Lyon mockingly laughed at Natsu, but he didn't get to laugh for long as Natsu suddenly disappeared from his spot, punching Lyon with the force of a speeding truck.
"Guh!!!" Lyon shot away at high speed. Natsu quickly dashed after him and grabbed his throat, holding him up before staring right at Lyon's anguished expression.
"Say that again, say it again! I dare you, I double dare you motherf*cker! I don't want an asshole like you to badmouthing our guild!" Natsu roared while vengefully slapping the brains out of Lyon. Lyon flew again like a kite without a string. Not long after, he shakily stood up and stared at Natsu with hate burning in his eyes.
"Blurgh, y-you little! Now you've made me mad! Ice-Make: Snow Dragon!" Lyon shouted, vomiting blood. He created an ice Dragon that rushed towards Natsu trying to crush him, but Natsu just stood there without any intention to dodge the attack, making Lyon confused. But he got his answer when the dragon melted into vapor instantly when Natsu casually grabbed it.
"Do you really think that's a dragon? That's nothing but a cheap imitation. Let me show you what a real dragon looks like. Take Over: Fire Dragon King!" He shouted, casting the take over magic. He had learned Takeover magic from the guild library. Takeover magic was slightly special in that it needed a soul for the caster to use. Mirajane used her Satan soul for takeover, Elfman used a beast soul whereas Lisanna used an animal soul.
Natsu also has a dragon soul within him. Even though Igneel lay dormant inside him, he could still take over it. He'd already tested it out in the past and was only to transform into a dragon partially.
Natsu sprouted dark crimson dragon wings on his back. His eyes became slits like those of reptile and red scales started appearing all over his body. He had a pair of curved horns on his head, making him look imposing and majestic. He slowly turned his head to gaze at Lyon, making him gulp nervously. Lyon felt as if he'd met with an apex predator, staring at him as if he were prey.
"Fire Dragon King's Roar!" Natsu roared, firing a large beam of fire towards Lyon's direction, heading straight towards the temple. He didn't aim to kill Lyon, he was still Gray's fellow student after all. Lyon just stood there with a dumbfounded look even after the beam passed him by. He turned back and had an incredulous expression after watching the consequences of the attack.
*BOOOOOM!*
The temple got obliterated after taking such a powerful attack. It exploded into thousands of pieces of small debris. The attack didn't stop and kept going forward until it reached the ocean, where it still kept on advancing without end. Lyon gulped nervously after witnessing such a powerful attack. He looked at Natsu in and shakily pointed his finger at him.
"N-No way! That's impossible! Even Ur couldn't do something like this. You blew the whole f*cking temple away with a single attack!" Lyon shouted in disbelief. He didn't want to believe that there was someone even stronger than his previous mentor.
