Chapter 62: Gajeel

At midnight, a black-haired guy was looking at the 'Fairy Tail' guild with a malicious smile. He was Gajeel Redfox, one of the S-class mages of 'Phantom Lord'. He seemed to be hunting for some prey, wanting to torture some 'Fairies' for his amusement.

Gajeel was a tall and muscular young man with long, spiky black hair, which was usually kept slicked back, revealing his forehead. He had red eyes with slitted dark pupils and had no visible eyebrows. Most of his exposed body was covered in sets of simple, round studs, with the most visible on his face.

Gajeel was having a blast today. First, he got to wreck the wretched 'Fairy' base, and now he was about to torture some of them. He couldn't wait to see their miserable faces after he was done with them.

He noticed a group of three 'Fairy Tail' mages walking along the streets happily. The group consisted of a petite blue-haired woman, a slim orange-haired guy wearing a hat, and a black-haired guy with an unusual hairstyle.

Gajeel looked at them with a predatory smile and quickly walked in front of them, alerting the trio.

"Who are you!?" The trio warily asked, getting into fighting position. They knew that the guy in front of them was bad news. Gajeel looked at them with an evil glint in his eyes.

"Today is your unlucky day, wretched fairies. You three are going to be my prey for the night. HAHA..." He ignored their question and laughed viciously. He was going to beat them into a pulp to provoke 'Fairy Tail'.

Levy, Jet, and Droy tensed up hearing this. They knew they were up for a hard battle against him, but they could never imagine their opponent to be a dragon slayer. They thought Gajeel was just a strong mage.

"Iron Dragon's Club," He shouted, transforming his arm into a large steel club. Then, he sent a powerful punch toward the trio. The clubs elongated at Gajeel's will, heading toward the trio. He also created multiple smaller clubs from the end of the original, targeting all of them.

"Be careful, Levy!!!" Jet and Droy shouted, trying to shield Levy from the attack. She didn't have any time to reply. All of them closed their eyes seeing the rapidly approaching attack, knowing that they'd be defeated instantly.

When all hope seemed to have been lost, suddenly, Natsu dropped down from the sky in front of them, looking at the incoming attack calmly.

"Fire Dragon Slayer's Secret Art: Crimson Lotus: Fire Dragon's Fist" He shouted, igniting his fists with large fiery spheres. Then he charged at the incoming clubs, hitting them with a continuous barrage of punches enhanced with his 'Fire Dragon Slayer Magic'.

*BOOOOOM!*

Each punch produced a powerful explosion, with the resulting complete attack being strong enough to break through Gajeel's iron clubs. Dust scattered everywhere, blocking the view of everyone present.

Gajeel was alert looking at the intruder. He knew someone blocked his attack before it even hit the trio, causing a stern look to adorn his face.

When the dust settled down it revealed Natsu, who looked at Gajeel with a smirk, while Levy, Jet, and Droy were huddling against each other with their eyes closed in fear.

"Phew, just in time. Levy, Jet, Droy! You three can open your eyes now. Don't worry, I won't let him harm any of you guys." Natsu declared, making the trio open their eyes slowly. They breathed a sigh of relief after seeing him.

"Who the hell are you, cocky bastard?! Did you forget that I'm here?" Gajeel shouted in a pissed voice. He was angry at Natsu for ignoring him. Levy, Jet, and Droy quickly hid behind Natsu after seeing Gajeel's angry expression, they were still quite terrified of him.

"Me? Ah, c'mon metal brain, didn't you do your homework properly. I'm the one and only dragon slayer of Fairy Tail, Natsu Dragneel." Natsu proudly replied causing Gajeel's eyes to widen and mouth to gape in surprise, but it was soon replaced with narrowed eyes and a malicious smile. He'd always wanted to battle the infamous salamander. He wanted to show the world that he was the strongest dragon slayer.

"So you're the infamous salamander. What a lucky day for me, I get to fight another dragon slayer. Let's see who's stronger, you or me." He shouted before quickly getting into position. He didn't underestimate Natsu at all. He knew better than everyone how mighty a dragon slayer could be, so he didn't want to lose from underestimating his enemy.

"Indeed it's a lucky day, but not for you. I'm going to show you what happens to those that mess with my friends," Natsu viciously remarked, making Gajeel tense. Natsu then looked at the team 'Shadow Gear' with a smile.

"You should get going, Levy, Jet, Droy! I want you guys to inform the guild master about this. Meanwhile, I will take care of this." Natsu said to which the trio nodded their heads.

"A-Alright Natsu. Please be safe out there." Levy stuttered before leaving the area with Jet and Droy. They didn't want to be anywhere near that 'Iron Dragon Slayer'. Strangely, Gajeel didn't bother to interfere with their escape, opting to just look at Natsu with an excited expression.

"Are you done saying your goodbyes, Salamander? Then let's get started. The sky doesn't have enough space for two dragons. Let's see who's the superior one among us." He said, getting into his fighting position. He was excited to battle the infamous salamander.

"You're right. Let me show you how pathetic you've become, Gajeel Redfox. Metalicana would be disappointed to see you bullying some weaklings. Let me show what a real dragon looks like." Natsu replied with a mocking smirk making Gajeel livid. He didn't want to hear that from him.

"You bastard! How dare you say that! I'm going to kill you for this." Gajeel shouted while dashing toward Natsu angrily. Natsu just looked at this calmly. He wanted to show this jackass what an actual 'Dragon Slayer' is like.
