Natsu and Kagura left the place after their introduction. Natsu asked her various small questions on the way, which she had no problem answering since he was her saviour.
Natsu learned that Kagura had a pretty hard life after escaping from the child trafficker in Rosemary village. She travelled to many places in search of her brother while doing odd jobs for money. She hadn't started her mage training yet, which was quite surprising to him.
Kagura also learned a lot about him. He told her about his life in the 'Fairy Tail' guild, enticing her to join it. He knew Kagura would be a pretty strong wizard in the future, so he wanted to pull her into his guild.
Kagura was reluctant to join a guild, but when Natsu started talking about the benefits of the guild in her search of her brother, she changed her mind. There's only so much you can do alone after all, but she needed some time to think about it. Besides, she was unsure whether she was able to become a mage or not.
He didn't force her and continued talking about other stuff. They made various small talks, while occasionally smiling. Soon, they reached their destination - Magnolia.
Natsu brought her to a lovely family restaurant and ordered some food for them. She instantly devoured her food like a starved beast without any manners making him chuckle.
"You don't need to eat in a hurry. The food isn't going anywhere." He said with an amused smile, making her embarrassed. She quickly swallowed the food in her mouth and looked down to avoid maintaining eye contact with him.
"I'm sorry for showing you such unsightly manners," Kagura said with a downcast expression. She was ashamed of her previous actions.
"You don't need to apologize. Besides, I was happy to see you enjoying yourself. About manners, I don't care about them at all. My manners are probably worse than yours, hehe…" Natsu replied, chuckling while shaking his head. Kagura felt relieved hearing him and gave him a sweet smile and continued eating, albeit a bit slower this time. She didn't want to give him a bad impression after all.
Natsu also had his meal in similar unsightly manners making Kagura giggle.
After having their dinner, Natsu asked her seriously. "So, what do you want to do now? Are you going to keep on travelling or do you want to settle somewhere? If you'd like, you can join my guild."
Kagura tensed after hearing his question and answered with uncertainty. "To be honest, I don't know what to do. I want to keep on searching for my brother, but I know it's not possible to find him on my own. I want to join 'Fairy Tail' and be with Natsu-san, but I don't think I'm suitable to be a mage. I've never used magic, after all. You shouldn't waste your time on someone worthless like me."
Natsu held her shoulders and looked at her sternly. He didn't like seeing Kagura devalue herself.
"Listen here, Kagura! I don't care whether you can use magic or not. And don't you dare call yourself worthless. So what if you can't use magic now? You can always learn it later. If you want, I can teach you magic myself. So, what do you think? Do you want to join 'Fairy Tail' or not?" He asked seriously, making her surprised. She didn't think he would care about her so much.
"Are you sure about this, Natsu-san? I don't want you to waste your time on me?" Kagura asked for confirmation. She still looked hesitant about her decision.
"Of course! Who wouldn't be happy to teach a beautiful girl like you." Natsu answered, pinching her cute nose, making her embarrassed, but a small smile appeared on her face after hearing his answer.
"Mou, please don't tease me like this," Kagura pleaded, pouting while removing his naughty finger from her nose. Natsu sported an amused smile on his face while looking at her.
"Then, I'd be glad to join the same guild as you. Please take care of me, Natsu-sensei!" Kagura said, facing him with a stern expression and bowing a little in the end to show respect to her new teacher.
"Geez… Don't call me a 'sensei'. It makes me feel old. Please just call me Natsu." He said with a displeased expression. He didn't want to be called a 'sensei' by someone around his age, especially if it was a girl beautiful as Kagura.
"No!!! That would be disrespectful of me. Then… I'll call you Natsu-sama." Kagura said, changing her way of addressing him. She had a pretty traditional mindset where it was mandatory to respect your teacher.
"Sigh… Okay then. At least this is better than being called your teacher." He sighed in reluctant acceptance. Kagura smiled widely upon hearing this, and her ribbon wiggled slightly, showing her happiness.
"Let's go to the guild now. I'm sure you're excited to meet your new family, after all." Natsu said, bringing his hands in front of her, which she grabbed shyly.
"I don't care about others. I just want to spend more time with you." Kagura mumbled with her head down, making Natsu smile wryly. He didn't think he'd become closer to Kagura so fast.
Then, he brought her to the guild and introduced her to everyone while she hid behind him to avoid being in the spotlight. Everyone in the guild welcomed her with warmth, making her feel more comfortable. Soon, she introduced herself to everyone and started making friends.
But suddenly, Erza and Mira approached Natsu with different expressions on their face. Erza had a slightly angry expression, while Mira had a playful expression.
"Natsu! Who's that woman? Don't tell me she's another of your women." Erza asked with a severe tone. She didn't like to see Natsu getting close to another woman while she hadn't fixed their relationship. Natsu sighed after hearing her. Getting Kagura so soon wasn't his plan, after all.
"I didn't think you'd bring another woman so soon, Natsu. Don't tell me you're unsatisfied with me. I feel like crying." Mira said with a fake sobbing tone, making Natsu roll his eyes. He knew that this 'She-Devil' was definitely playing with him.
"Calm down, girls! She's Kagura Mikazuchi. I saved her from a Vulcan on the way here. She was pretty much alone out in the woods, don't tell that you'd want me to leave her there?" Natsu asked with a tired voice.
"Why do you need to bring her here then? Can't you leave her in the town and go your separate ways?" Erza asked suspiciously. She was acting just like a jealous wife, making Natsu annoyed. He didn't want someone to question his every action, especially if it's a potential lover. Doesn't that mean they don't trust you? What's the use of being in a relationship if they can't even trust each other.
"Calm down, Erza. I'm sure Natsu had a reason for this." Mira said, trying to calm Erza down. She knew Natsu didn't like being questioned for his actions. He was a prideful guy, just like a dragon.
"Geez… You don't need to question my every action do you, Erza? I couldn't leave her alone after hearing her story." Natsu said in annoyance while telling them about Kagura's struggle making both of them surprised. He didn't want to see any more drama happening.
"Are you happy now? I'm going to go see gramps with Kagura and get her the stamp. Talk to you later, girls!" Natsu said, giving them a fake smile before leaving the area. He didn't want to continue talking with them. He went to Kagura and took her to meet with Makarov and get her guild symbol.
Mira looked at his departing figure with a wry smile. Then, she turned and found Erza looking downwards.
"I should not have done that, right?" Erza asked in a depressed tone. She realized that she was misbehaving in front of Natsu. Her jealousy got the better of her.
"Yeah! Anyone would be annoyed when someone questions their every action. Besides, Natsu just helped someone in need. Even if he brought in another lover, I wouldn't question him. He already told me that he would have many lovers before dating me. Sometimes you need to compromise in a relationship. You need to have some trust in Natsu if you want to advance your relationship. A relationship without trust is bound to sink after all." Mira answered with a tired smile. She didn't want to have this conversation if possible, but she knew Erza needed to hear this to realize the importance of trust in a relationship.
"I see… I have to trust Natsu more if I want to advance my relationship. Thank you for the advice, Mira." Erza said, thanking Mira with a small bow. She was glad to have Mira as her friend.
"You don't need to thank me. I don't want to see more drama between you two." Mira shook her head and sighed. Then, both of them left to do their stuff.
