Chapter Forty: Cheaters Never Win

I just arrived in Monterey, my humanity was off, and I could compel anyone to do whatever I wanted, so I ate my carriage driver then left him in the river, I then compelled a man to finish him off for me, which he was disgusted by and I found it satisfying. I got a letter from Ian saying how worried he was about me and that he was sorry, I told him sooner or later he would find me. Especially considering I left a trail of bodies on the way...I quickly ripped out 8 peoples throats on my way to where I was going to stay. I didn't really care if Ian or Nik or Elijah found me because I didn't have my humanity, so I was fearless and they were all powerless against me. Then once I arrived at my home I compelled for myself, I ate everyone in site, and let me tell you, there is no shortage of people in Monterey, they just keep coming. So I decided to compel the entire town, it was big, but not to big, I was able to compel the entire town by sundown. I told them to keep my secret of being a werewolf- vampire hybrid, I didn't tell them that my name was Katerina, instead...I told them it was Katherine, it's what I was going to call myself when I was thinking about changing my name a few month back, however...Ian didn't think Katherine would be a good name for me, he liked the simple Katerina, but I didn't, so I fully changed my name to Katherine Pierre. However, now that my emotions were off, I didn't care about my "relationship" with Ian, all we ever did was have sex and kill people, so I decided I'd do that, except I'd compel people to kill others for me, and bring me their blood back, and then I'd have them kill each other, so I really wouldn't have any blood on my hands, plus I knew that one of the clingy boys that I've put up with for so long wouldn't take very long before they found me, so I had other things I needed to do. You know. Like live a little, instead of being cooped up inside a mansion all day, so I compelled someone to invite me in and then "give" me their mansion, and by give I mean I asked them to come outside and then I killed them. And then a nice young man looked about 22 came up to my door looking for me, someone told him how beautiful I was, and he wanted to see for himself, I saw this as the perfect opportunity to get him inside and do what I've longed to do. I took him upstairs to where I made my bedroom, I compelled him not to run at any time, and then I pushed him onto the bed and crawled on top of him, I started to kiss his neck, I ripped his shirt off and kissed down his body. But all fun has to come to an end, Nik bursted through the door only to find me on top of some half naked stranger, along with my half naked self, Nik immediately ran up to the young man and told him to leave and forget about me, I yelled because that was about to be my lunch, after I was done playing with him. Then all of a sudden, everything went dark...

N: Klaus had just daggered Katherine, he brought her back to Saint Falls and locked her up. Then he undaggered her and waited until she woke up...

I woke up and I knew exactly where I was and what was going on, Nik daggered me, and brought me back home. And when I asked him how long I'd been out, he told me only one day which shocked me because the shortest amount of time I've been daggered for was half a century. I recognized this routine, he was going to starve me, almost to desiccation, but giving me just enough blood to stay alive. He'd do this until my humanity was turned back on, until some sort of emotion was stirred up inside of me. So he brought in Elijah, he knows how much I love Elijah, he was the one brother who always stayed by my side, even though he daggered me sometimes, he had his reasons. But I knew they wanted him to break me, but that wasn't going to work. And when Nik and Ian were gone to give us a moment, Elijah let me out, but he said that I have to turn on my humanity to leave. So as I would do anything for my freedom, I turned on my humanity with ease and left with Elijah. Who knew when we would come back, it could be months, years, decades, or centuries even, all I knew was that I was glad to be gone from them. Elijah decided that he would take me back to Rome to visit mother and fathers grave, and spend some time there to get everything back to normal, we could spend however long we wanted. I even got to meet his girlfriend, she's nice, and really good for him, he's become a better man because of her, her name is Clarissa. Anyway, I knew Niklaus and Ian wouldn't come looking because they knew I was with Elijah and I'd be safe, which was true. Being back in the town I grew up in would be good for me to deal with my issues and humanity problems. I'd have a carefree life for awhile, and when I was ready, I'd return to Saint Falls to face what I will always dread going back to, Ian and Nik. But until then I'll have a good time for a long time, like a very very long vampire break with my brother and his girlfriend. I know it doesn't sound great, but it is, we would become closer, I'd get to know Clarissa, and I'd be able to get away for awhile. This is exactly what I needed right now. A break from everything...
