Chapter Forty Seven: A Threat To Us All

As we approached Elijah and Caroline he grew a look of anger and sorrow, he then asked if we could speak in private, so of course I agreed and followed him to the next room where we couldn't be heard. He asked me what I was doing with her, I told him that she was Hayley, my date. He was furious and knew this would end badly, but I had to tell him that Hayley was nothing like Clarissa, so I did. And once he calmed down we went back to the party to accompany our dates. Hayley and I went to go dance and were rudely interrupted by my brother, who asked to cut in, I let him because who knew what he'd do if I didn't! I suppose Elijah used this opportunity to make sure that Hayley wasn't anything like Clarissa because once the dance was over he seemed fine and Hayley came up to me once again and asked me if Elijah was always such a talker, since he was asking her a bunch of questions. She said that the questions he asked were all about her and her family's history. So when I brought it to Elijah's attention he admitted that he was asking her all these questions, and that he had no reason to be upset because Hayley wasn't anything like Clarissa! So I felt relieved that he wasn't going to try and kill her or something, but would he try to steal her away from me? And that question was answered when he mentioned that I should have my back and hers, because he could go after one or both of us...
