An Impulsive Decision

"I already told my mom I and Geoff can't visit her today. She is not expecting me to see me. Maybe she already made plans with the neighbors. I also told Geoff I will wait until he's free and we can go there together." I told Michael who seems to be so concentrated driving.

"I'm afraid we can't go back now Miss Myers. I am merely following instructions." He said smiling. How can he still smile until now? If he told me earlier that we will go to my mom's place, I should have brought some of my stuff. I prepared a gift for my mom but I couldn't give it to her now.

"Is this still part of you prank? Please stop it now, it's not funny anymore." I asked, almost begging. I love surprises but this one is making me feel scared.

He didn't reply and just focus on driving. I remained quiet the whole trip. I feel upset for being played with. I was expecting for this trip for the past days and it was suddenly cancelled last night. But now, I am on my way to my mom's hometown, not knowing what would happen next.

After more than two hours of driving, we finally reached my mom's place. I can't help but admire Michael. He knows exactly where my mom lives. He must have done his task well. I ran out from the car and headed directly to my mom's place. I was surprised to see a man in the yard. It seems like he is fixing a wooden chair without wearing a shirt. He has a lean body and his muscles look like rocks. He seems familiar. Is it Geoff?

"Geoff?" I called the man in front of me, hoping that it is really him.

He looked at me. I was speechless for a few seconds and ran towards him after. I kissed him passionately. I miss this man so much.

"Don't be naughty my love, your mom is inside. Do you want her to catch us in this position?" He said teasing.

I never felt like this before. I want to touch him and make him feel how much I miss him. I don't think I can't wait until we get married.

I didn't let go hugging him. I kiss him again and again. I don't care if my mom sees us, I'm sure she will understand.

He was the one who let go of me. "This can wait later. Be ready." He said.

"What are you doing here? I thought you are busy." I asked.

"I can leave everything behind for you, do you know that? I may be busy but I will make time especially if I know it will make you happy." Geoff

"But you said yesterday you can't make it." Me to him

"I had to do that so I can surprise you. Do you like surprises?" Geoff

I nodded as a response. "Michael was very good in acting. I thought you were in danger so I got here immediately." I explained.

"I guess I need to give him bonus then." He said chuckling.

My mom came out with some beverage. We hugged after meeting. It turned out that she already knew everything about me and Geoff. He already explained our plans to get married and that I will be moving in with him after. My mom was ecstatic about the news and was listening to our stories the whole time. I was happy to see how excited my mom is. I understand now how she has sacrificed a lot for me and I think me getting married is her final dream for me.

We spent the whole afternoon cooking and eating. Whenever I and Geoff were left alone, we exchange kisses. We agreed to stay in a hotel nearby tonight, next to the beach.

After dinner, I and Geoff decided to leave. I promised my mom I would be visiting her often.

Michael picked us up to help us move to the hotel. Inside the car, I and Geoff couldn't stop kissing. I felt shy because of Michael's presence but Geoff told me not to mind him. I could feel his hands touching my private parts but I didn't stop him anymore.

"Let's get married tonight. Is it possible?" I asked Geoff.

"Are you sure about that?" he asked with a smile.

"Yes, 100% sure." I replied.

He kissed me gently and turned to Michael for instructions.

"Call Judge Lopez. Tell him I will be getting married tonight."

Michael just smiled as a response. I am not sure whether that is really possible. I said it impulsively, I was taken over by my desires and my love for Geoff but I never thought it is really possible.

"If we get married tonight, you won't be able to wear a wedding dress. I am afraid you might regret it later. This day is very important in a woman's life. You should be the most beautiful tonight." He said, trying to check whether I am certain with m request.

I realized I am only wearing jeans, hooded shirt and sneakers. I am sure I look tired and I don't think I have time to go to a salon to have make up and my hair done. I don't even have engagement ring on my finger. Maybe that was what my mother was looking for a while back.

"Are you regretting your decision now? I can wait for a few more weeks, we can arrange everything with the help of a weeding organizer. We don't need to rush." Geoff said.

I was speechless for a moment. I am not the type of person who likes getting attention from others. I am an introvert and I am sure people will start talking about me when they find out I will be getting married.

"We will be getting married later anyway, why not do it now?" I am now determined with my decision. I don't want to torture Geoff and myself anymore. I like to love him fully and to be able to wake up beside him every day.

"Good then. We'll be getting married in an hour. Do you want to do something before that?" He asked.

"Can I at least wear a dress and have a light make up? I want to look pretty tonight." I requested.

"That's simple." He chuckled. He instructed Michael to go to the nearest clothing store. Geoff decided to go to the judge's place to prepare the documents we need while I do my stuff.

In the store, I chose a simple white dress and black high-heeled shoes. The staff helped me put them on. They look perfect. I went to a salon nearby next and asked them to do my hair and makeup fast. They braided my hair and put some floral decorations on the side. They applied a natural makeup on me, covering my dark circle. I can't believe I will be getting married tonight. Everything happened too fast. I was just crying over Lance a few weeks ago and now I am marrying Geoff, a guy I tried not to love in college, the guy who took care of me when no one wanted to be my friend.

On the way, I asked Michael to drop by a flower shop to choose a wedding bouquet. I chose a bouquet of pink and white orchids.

We reached the judge's house before 10pm. It is located in an exclusive area and the villas look elegant from afar. We entered a tall gate that led us to a two-story villa. I can't help but admire its structures. I wonder how much it would cost to build a house like this. Even if I work my entire life, I am sure I couldn't afford this one.

We were ushered by a young woman wearing a blue uniform. She looks very polite. The interior of the house is a combination of modern and oriental style. The ceiling is too high and there is a staircase leasing to the second floor. A man, which I'm sure is Judge Lopez, and Geoff stood up immediately when they saw me approaching.

"So this is the bride. Nice to meet you Miss Myers. My name is Adam Lopez. I will be officiating your wedding tonight." He said with a smile.

"It's my pleasure to meet you sir. I'm sorry for the short notice." I said shyly.

"Please call me Adam. Geoff is like a son to me. I and his father are best friends since we were kids." He said.

I smiled in response. I still can't believe that this is happening.

"So, shall we start?" He asked. I and Geoff just nodded. "Normally I give advices to the couple and do the normal process but I don't think I need to do that stuff in here. I just need you two to sign these papers and you are married!"

That's it? I shouldn't have make an effort to buy a dress and put make up then. I thought he would at least say the very famous final statement in weddings. "You may now kiss the bride." But with this situation, I think nothing like that will happen.

While we were signing the papers, Adam was just observing us. After we signed everything, he just stood up and shook our hands. "Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Geoff Park."

And it is over. Sometimes, it is better not to expect anything, I realized that now. No kiss, no exchanging of vows, no rings even.
