Business

"Oh! You are LZ's...ah, that's right. Mr. Han recently held a wedding for his daughter..." The woman was almost talking to herself, realizing she did not recognize LZ's CEO right away, even mistaking him for a chef.

"Yes, we did..." Han Mufeng kept his proud smile.

"Ah...then this lady...I mean, Chef..." the woman stuttered.

Zhao Mingzhe cleared his throat as he pulled his wife closer by the waist. "My wife just started her local business. This is a favor she did for the family, since it's the anniversary of LH. Even I was stunned with her masterpiece. We hope you can support her new endeavor." He had a proud smile as well.

Han Yixin widened her awkward smile and nodded.

"Oh! How can I order?" The lady kept her enthusiasm.

Zhao Mingzhe explained the membership terms and exclusive orders, promoting his wife's business thoroughly.

Han Yixin added details as they went on, even attracting a small crowd in the banquet.

.

In another corner of the hall, Donna Yang smirked as she put some desserts into her mouth. As she chewed on a tart, she closed her eyes to savor the flavor. Then she laughed subtly as she opened her eyes. 'Her hands are really amazing.' she thought as her eyes darted to the crowd which was covering her best friend.

She knew she need not add to the sea of people that could drown Han Yixin. She can support her best gal by devouring her desserts. Who knows how many paparazzi will be there to shoot her while munching on sweets. Though they are not allowed inside the hall, but the foliage outside and the glass walls can help them get some scoop.

When she felt a bit thirsty, Donna Yang elegantly walked with her 10-centimeter platform heels to parade her silver to navy blue ombré sequined gown towards the bar setup.

"Se* on the beach." she ordered the bartender.

The bartender, who had a vandyke, smirked then started preparing her drink.

"Whiskey." a deep familiar voice suddenly rang in Donna Yang's ears, taking her focus away from the spinning bottles.

To her surprise, the familiar frowning face was right next to hers.

"What are you doing here?!" she almost shouted.

"Donna Yang, I am also an endorser. It's for business. The world doesn't revolve around you." The handsome, mixed-race features of Thomas Leung distorted into an irritated frown.

"Business my as*!" She crossed her arms over her large chest.

"So, where's your new fiancé?" Thomas Leung mocked as he reached for his drink.

Donna Yang harrumphed. "He is attending to an actual business...unlike someone I know." she mocked back.

He smirked. "How are you different?" He took a sip of his drink.

Donna Yang remembered her order, took the glass and took a big gulp, not minding if cameras are lurking around. "Are you here to piss me off?!"

He chuckled. "Sweetheart, I think you don't have the slightest right to get pissed off."

"Thomas Leung, we have been divorced for over a year! Whether or not I'm getting married to someone else has nothing to do with you!"

He slowly shook his head while he kept his smirk. "Sweetheart, when did you get the divorce papers approved by the office?"

Donna Yang had wide eyes.

Indeed, she signed the papers, but she never got to see the ones with approval from the bureau. She left them with Thomas Leung for filing. At that time, she had an early flight for an overseas shoot.

That day was from when she counted the more than a year that they had been divorced, unless...

"Huh! Thomas Leung, you jerk!" Donna Yang hit his chest with the side of her fist, the drink held by her other hand almost splashed onto him.

Thomas Leung took the hit as he laughed.

Then he dragged her by the arm out of hearing range from other people in the hall.

"Sweetheart, you didn't sleep with your new toy, right? It will be adultery if you did..." he laughed.

"You! How could you! I'm already free from you, you monster!" She pressed her forefinger hard into his chest.

Thomas Leung suddenly took her hand and kissed it.

Then he looked into her eyes as he had a seductive smile. "Oh...I remember you love this monster very much."

She tried to free her hand to no avail. "You're disgusting!" she seethed.

Thomas Leung pulled her closer and whispered, "Donna, remember this...you are still my wife. If you don't want your toy to go missing tomorrow, you're coming home with me."

"You...no! Absolutely not! We should've been divorced already! Was it too hard for you to sign a bunch of papers?!"

His expression dimmed, then he looked into her eyes. "Yes, it was."

Donna Yang was stunned. Her mouth was gaping, but no words came out.

When he saw that she did not know what to say, he shifted his expression to a mischievous smile.

"You wanted the divorce. If I sign, you get what you want..." He moved closer to her face, so that his nose almost touches hers. "...do you think I'd let you win? I'm an athlete. The thing I hate the most...is losing." he emphasized the last word.

Donna Yang remained speechless.

Thomas Leung pulled away from her and let go of her hand, then he finished off the remaining contents of her drink.

After a moment, she seemed to regain herself and took a deep breath.

"Thomas Leung...why are you doing this? I haven't seen you for more than a year."

His face was solemn when he faced her again.

"I thought...you needed space. I thought you would stop hating me if you don't see me for awhile...that maybe you'll start to miss me...and regret your decision on divorce. I guess, it was just my wishful thinking."

"Thomas..." Donna Yang felt guilty.

Her marriage to this national player was a part of her dream of following the footsteps of the famous star, VB, who married a football player. She did not take in the responsibility of a wife too much, and she felt suffocated, hence the idea of divorce. They were both prideful, so it did not actually work. However, they had shared a lot of good memories as well. She just never expected that his mind would be thinking like that.

Thomas Leung sighed. "Let's finish our roles in this party, then we can talk at home."

"Uh...okay." she nodded.

He took her hand to hook it on his arm. Then he furrowed his brows.

Donna Yang noticed his expression. "What now?"

"Take that off!"

She followed his gaze which landed on the ring Su Jiancheng gave her. She immediately took it off and threw it into her handbag.

She then let her husband escort her around the banquet.
