"Can you remember who you were before the world told you what you should be?

"If you only had one chance to avenge Loretta, would you take it?"
The man who said this was tall, slim and had tidy black hair and a neatly trimmed face. His eyes were black and he was dressed in a gray suit with a brief case in his hand.
He looked like an ordinary person, but looks are always deceiving. He smiled his carefree smile and his voice dripped charm.
"I'll ask again, do you want to avenge your murdered wife or rot in jail? It's your choice Preacher. Hehe, how ironic." He chuckled and then smiled.
"Did you do that? To the guards?"
"I did. Just a simple parlor trick used to make my job a little easier." He then looked up towards the one-way mirror and glared at the Chief of Police.
'He can't see me, can he?' the chief thought to himself. He was watching the interrogation and was about to come into the room when the man appeared. He looked like a lawyer, the kind that would sell out his client if the other guy paid more. When he saw that Pierce and Loch weren't moving, he felt the hairs on the back of his neck tingle. At that moment, he was a deer caught in the headlights of a truck, wants to run but has forgotten how to. And when the man locked gazes with him, he fully felt the malevolent force behind that set of eyes. Before the Chief blacked out and hit the ground, he would've swore that even the whites of his eyes had turned into the darkest of blacks.
Back in the interrogation room, the man in the gray suit began to giggle. "That should take care of him. Hehehe"
"Did you do something to my uncle?! What did you do to him?!" Jack stood up and shouted, the crash of the chair against the floor a n audible exclamation point to the question.
"Relax, he's fine. Just out cold, no need to worry. Someone will come by sooner or later if he doesn't come to. Now, back to the elephant in the room...."
"The trunk of the problem isn't about whether I want to or not, of course I want to. But how can I get revenge on the fucker that did this to us if I can't even prove to myself I didn't do it?" The loud, angry man he was before is gone. What's replaced that fiery anger is a quiet rage, like the embers of the match that set the forest fire.
"What if I said that there was a place that could make all your dreams come true?" He said with an evil grin and a twinkle in his eye. "A place that offers countless wealth, women, feasts, and vengeance. A place where the petty tricks I've done are child's play, power is attainable by anyone. Come in a man and leave there a GOD!"
Jack stood there unfazed
"I heard that the institution across town had a riot and that some patients had escaped, but it's been a full week. I figured they rounded them all up by now."
A smirk appeared on Lucy's face. "Crazy? I'll show you crazy!"
The handcuffs around Jack's wrists flew open and before he could get a word out, his feet started walking as if they had a mind of their own. The steps were ragged and clearly forced, but they had a destination in mind.
"Hey! What's going on? Quit with the bullshit! Let me g-" His mouth was shut mid sentence and bit his tongue. Jack tasted a little blood.
In the weird, choppy movements, Jack's body made it to it's destination, which happened to be Loch. Or more precisely, his handgun on his side! Jack then began reaching towards
the gun, struggling against the other man's will. He wrapped his fingers around the handle and slowly brought it up to his head, his arm resisting the whole time. Trembling, he brought the gun up to his temple and cocked it. Finger edging closer and closer to the trigger until it was a hair's breadth away.
"Crazy? I'm crazy? No, I'm just more sane that what you can handle. I can take away your life, your one chance at vengeance and the only finger I would have to move is yours." He then released Jack from his control. "But I won't. I believe that you deserve your chance to make things right. Who would I be to stand in the way of destiny? I'm going to ask you for the last time, do you want to avenge Loretta?"
Buckled over panting, Jack was still recovering from the shock of what just happened. He hadn't been in a situation where he almost lost his life in a long time. The bloody smell, the killing intent, the feeling of being a butcher of the human kind, it all came rushing back to him. After a few more seconds, he stood up and said "Yes, I want to avenge Loretta. I promised I would love her in life and in death, just because death came too soon doesn't mean I'm going back on my word."
With a grin, Lucy opened up his brief case and brought out a scroll and a feather pen.
"Just sign on the dotted line and I'll take you where you need to go."
Jack walked towards the table and without hesitation, snatched the pen and signed his name
"Alright, where are we going?"
"The only place where dreams come true. The Tower of Babel!" He said with a magnificent swoosh of his arms. As if in sync with his movements, a black swirl began to expand out of thin air. It stopped until it could touch the ceiling and the floor at the same time. "After you"
Jack Preacher walked forward into the swirling chasm, then the man in the gray suit. After the man walked in, it began to close in on itself and left the world with a 'pop'.
The two officers in the room were stunned. One moment, Jack was here talking to them and then 'poof' he's disappeared into thin air. The Chief walked in and began barking orders
"I NEED EVERYTHING YOU CAN GET ON LUCY FERNANDEZ. AND FIND MY NEPHEW JACK! NOW!"
