Karl von Reichard
Even with the dwarfs, we couldn't win. In just one week, our army was massacred. The dwarfs were strong, but they couldn't fight the demons.
After the first week of trench warfare, we managed to kill 10000 demons, but they keep coming until they broke our defense and that was the start of the massacre.
80% of our combined armies were lost and most of the survivors retreated to the last line of defense, where King Joseph, Elder Krull, and their guards were defending.
I was lucky enough to survive the massacre and together with 50 soldiers and 20 dwarfs we rushed to the base.
Even when they won the fight, the demons didn't stop. They advance towards the last defense. It's true that they had less than 17000 demons, but most of them are warriors. Their fighter were the first ones to die, but that just created more and more room for their warriors and warlords to wreak havoc among our ranks.
As we retreated, I could see one of the demons group approaching. Without any words, I decided to stand back and buy some time for my comrades.
They didn't say anything, buy I could see that most of them were looking at me with respect. Four of my fellow soldiers decided to follow me.
With us five stayings behind to cover their backs, the rest of the group start moving.
As I was looking at the incoming demons, I could feel my heart pounding. I know that I would day today, but I could let these monsters arrive at our base without a warning.
When the first few demons were five meters away from me, I dashed at one of them, killing him immediately. My fellow soldiers followed my example and we start killing demons.
But our desperate last stand didn't last long, because the demons managed to beheaded three of my soldiers, with only of us remaining we didn't stand any chance. Well, at least we killed fifteen demons and I'm sure that I could kill one or two before I die.
As the demons were ready to jump on us, a shadow emerged from the forest bitting three demons. The shadow was a big snake monster.
"At least it's killing demons," I thought.
The snake hissed at the demons, while most of the demons were distracted, another figure emerged from the forest. A tall beastman roared at the demons, who were shocked by the aura that was coming from the beastman.
The beastman jump right in the middle of the demons and with one swing of his spear, he sliced seven demons in half.
As the beastman and the snake we're killing demons, more and more beastman begin emerging from the forest and in just a minute all of the demons were killed by the beastman.
Wurkus: You two are still alive?
I quickly put myself in a military position and spoke.
Karl: Yes sir, we're survivors of the massacre. We five decided to stop here and buy some time for our fellow soldiers so that they can arrive at the base and inform the base that the demons are coming to attack
Wurkus: That's pretty honorable I could say. Now, soldier, you should introduce yourself.
Karl: Yes sir. My name is Karl von Reichard. I'm a sergeant, sir.
Wurkus: Nice to meet you. I'm Wurkus, chief of Kristal Heaven. Now boy, return to your base. We have some things to do here.
Wurkus POV
One hour later another group of demons arrives and with the same strategy, we destroy it.
For the next two days, we did ambushes upon ambushes. We destroyed ten groups(50-100 demons per group) and one horde(100-300 per horde. More than 300 is considered the main force), but our luck didn't save us from misfortune.
On our third day, the main force of the demons arrived and I was 100% sure that even if we fight to death we couldn't win against that many demons. I could see thousands of demons coming our way and before we could retreat I heard a hoarse voice.
Demon: You beastman, come out.
I could run, but I'm pretty sure someone how can detect me is stronger so I decided to walk out of the forest while my soldiers were retreating towards the human-dwarf base.
As I walked out of the forest, I was greeted by a six meters tall demon. His horns were as big and thick as my arms and his entire red muscular body was full scars.
Demon: I'm Jar'Kall, Second Prince of DemonLand.
I was surprised by the fact that the demon seems rather friendly and the fact that he's a prince.
Wurkus: Wurkus, chief of Kristal Heaven.
Jar'Kall: Hoo? So what is a beastman doing here? From what I know the beastmen are enemies with the humans and even the dwarfs are a little hostile.
Wurkus: Well, I don't really know much about other beastmen villages or cities, but my village is built from slaves that I rescued. So most of them hate humans, but that doesn't mean that we should close our eyes and let the humans die.
Jar'Kall: Hmm, you spoke some truth there. Now that we know each other, I want to ask you something. Would you want to join me?
