Ever since Rowan left, the spies within Olinthus continuously sent reports of the slow decline of that country. From nobles suddenly becoming unrestrained, King Jove making strange and unwise decision and the outbreak of a formerly vaccinated disease.
All of these events occurred in the span of a single month. It only took a month and a group of rash and hind sighted people to create numerous messes that could be fixed, but not without proper knowledge on how to devote resources to provide solutions to those problems.
Olinthus is somewhat unique compared to other countries, including Nelumbo. They are primarily focused on agriculture. The country's entire livelihood is dependant on crops. Of course, most countries depend on farming to provide food for the citizens, however, there are always other sources in making income like fishing, industrializing or trading specialty items.
And Olinthus does not have a second option. They only, well, farm. Thus, many, many problems could occur like bad weather, famine, plant diseases, pests or natural disasters, all of which could make the country collapse internally.
Luken wearily rubs his clenched eyebrows. He long knew the reason why Olinthus only did farming.
The citizens only knew how to farm.
That country has an extremely low literacy rate and the masses are primarily uneducated. It was almost a miracle for Rowan, a considerable genius, to even become the intelligent man he was today. Even then, Rowan most likely taught himself everything from scratch with little to no guidance.
The country had the resources to teach the public, however, education was limited to only the upper class. Even then, the nobles, although literate, lacked the interest in furthering their education.
So, fortunately (temporarily at least) for Olinthus, the country had one genius.
Well, emphasis on 'had.'
Luken's eyes narrowed in content and thought: 'Good thing that his subordinate managed to snatch Rowan at the time.'
They cannot and will not take Rowan back.
After all, he was still trying to form a closer relationship with the man in the mirror. The silence is comfortable, but he feels that there was still more distance separating him from Rowan. Luken knew he wanted to spend more time with Rowan, despite the lack of conversation. He would not let Olinthus disrupt him and Rowan.
Waving his hands nonchalantly, "Tell them to bring conclusive evidence and describe their so-called 'stolen magic relic.' Other than that, leave them to make fools of themselves."
Gale visibly rolled his eyes at his friend's sudden burst of dominance. Although Luken is usually poker-faced and expresses little to no emotion on a daily basis, in front of Rowan, he began to talk more often and say more domineering sentences that make him sound arrogant and powerful.
Like a peacock spreading its feathers and trying to impress a certain someone.
Luken, not minding the mocking expression on Gale's irritating face, turned back to Rowan who was still in his hand.
Flipping the mirror body to face him, Luken seriously asks, "Is there anything you want to do to Olinthus?"
Gale's lips twitch at Luken's latest domineering sentence.
