There was not much time to prepare against Olinthus and their spiteful tricks.
It would take around a few weeks or so for the entire envoy to leave Nelumbo, if it was just that, then Luken would have time to deploy troops and apprehend them to stall for time from Olinthus and allow more further and detailed planning.
However, if Miss Cascade were to be the only one leaving, if would be possible for her to use a portable magic array and transport herself to Olinthus in less than a week. There was no chance in grabbing her, especially if she has multiple portable teleportation magic arrays, she could just continuously use each one until they run out of energy and even leave Nelumbo earlier than predicted. This left not as much time for proper preparations at all.
Then soon, Olinthus would know of his exact location and would more than likely not stop in their pursuit for him.
Ah, how annoying.
Perhaps Luken felt his previous rising irritation or his current fury, but he came out after dressing and lifted Rowan up from the table.
"What's the matter?"
The mere words of concern placated Rowan, managing to regain his calm.
Unconsciously taking in the heat of Luken's palms, Rowan coldly explained, as if his previous ire never happened, "I was angry as I was seen by the Olinthus envoy representative, who was disguised as a maid and snuck around the gardens."
Rowan slowly felt Luken curl his fingers around him a bit tighter, but quickly loosened and instead vented his anger by clenching his other fist.
He quickly shouted out for Gale, who immediately came accompanied by a gust of wind to heighten his speed. Any sleepiness that may have been remnant on his face was wiped off when hearing the king's fuming call.
He stood in front of Luken and Rowan, awaiting for an order.
"Get the head maid to review every single female employee and to weed out any bugs. The girl sent by Olinthus was disguised as a maid and managed to breach the gardens, she must have gotten inside help."
Gale nodded and quickly produced a ball of wind, in which he repeated Luken's orders into and sent it to a particular direction. Rowan was momentarily distracted and looked on with slight amazement. He had heard of many forms and uses of wind magic, however, this was the first time that he had seen it to be used for communication purposes, rather than militaristic purposes. It wasn't hard to come up with new ways or ideas to utilizing magic, but rather, it was difficult to make them work.
He inwardly sighed, but quickly cheered up as soon he may be able to make his own original techniques once he developed his magic.
"Also," Luken's voice caused Rowan to refocus his attention on him, "start having our spies slowly spread rumors of the crimes of Olinthus' upper class within Olinthus and to all the neighboring countries."
Gale nodded with complete understanding, a different look from his ranting and petty self. He once again sent out more balls of wind, however, these were comparably smaller, around the size of a fingernail. If one did not look closely at the transparent, tiny ball, no one would notice it. Suitable for anyone going undercover.
Rowan barely heard Luken mutter "Plan R" into his wind spheres before they were all quickly sent out into numerous of directions.
When the job was done, Luken dismissed the man with a single, raised hand. Gale blatantly showed his displeasure by rolling his eyes, but left the room without an snarky comments.
When the door shut, Luken lifted Rowan, once again, to eye-level.
"Looks like we need to initiate our plans a lot earlier." Luken glanced at him apologetically. He originally wanted to restore Rowan's human form slowly, so he could make sure that the absorption of magic wasn't harmful before letting him witness the upper class of Olinthus' collapse.
Though, at this rate, they would have to try letting Rowan absorb as much magic as possible with a week or so. Kidnapping a newly-made citizen of Nelumbo was a lot harder than claiming a "lost mirror" after all.
The only response from Rowan was the happiness that was transmitted from the connection.
Rowan knew there may be dangers, but after a night of having his sense of touch back. He was more confident than hesitant of the magic absorption working in his favor.
