(Warning: allusion to rape)
A loud cackle of laughter echoed around the room. Usually the ladies around the fiery-headed man would swoon and immediatly attempt to fall into his arms, however, they were all unnaturally still.
With the exception of a beautiful woman within his arms, looking at her husband's blackened disposition with tender eyes as she used a finger to trace his chest muscles. The red-haired man finally managed to cease his laughter and merely sneered as he looked down upon the woman beneath his feet.
This woman was precisely Brooke Cascade, who escaped from Nelumbo to Olinthus. She shivered as she felt her emperor's sharp eyes pierce her skin. The temperature of the room staggered continuously, from being intensely hot or unbearably cold. Of course, it fluctuated due to Emperor Jove's fire magic being triggered by fury and Empress Juno's attempt in cooling him down with her ice magic.
Brooke Cascade had dutifully reported to the emperor of Olinthus, only to be laughed at when she "claimed" she was too afraid to simply take the mirror back. She cried inside her heart, how could she challenge the king of Nelumbo?! That was ridiculous! If she was one step late and someone spotted her, she would be thrown into the dungeons! Or maybe she'd would have been shot into a slag by King Luken's light magic!
The man before her, however, held no sympathy to his subject's despair. He angrily waved a hand and had her sent away. Empress Juno couldn't help but grasp her husband's suit in jealousy. Of course, she knew where that Brooke girl was sent. She always knows. Every single pretty girl in the castle has seduced her husband! They know that the Emperor cannot resist a sweet face, so they come to work for him in order to gain his favor!
Emperor Juve did nothing to soothe his wife, only laciviously leering at Brooke's blood-drained face. Finally, an excuse to punish her.
He coaxed his wife to let him go before stepping out from his throne room, leaving a dark-faced wife and expressionless harem members, and walked to his bedchambers. Along the way, he whispered seemingly to himself in the darkness of the ornate and extensive hallway.
"Now that you know where it is, try to snatch it in secret."
A slight draft passed by, disturbing the Emperor's suit ever so slightly. The Emperor simply rolled his eyes and quietly gritted out an unreasonable sentence: "It doesn't matter. Nelumbo is nothing next to my country. Just get that thing back here!"
Another light wind brushed against the Emperor before disappating completely. Emperor Jove smiled happily. That mirror will finally come back to its rightful owner, never to leave his hands again. As for Nelumbo?
Hah!
That less than mediocre country is nothing in his eyes! It cannot compare to the glory of his own country! Though he was a bit worried when Nelumbo had that mirror, the moment he gets that mirror back, no one would be able to oppose him. He will be the son of heaven and rule the entire world! He silently snickered to himself and joyfully entered his bedroom. The only thing that could be heard was a silent scream and a few hot gasps.
Suddenly, a man emerged from the shadows and disdainfully glanced at "his" Emperor's chambers. Has that man already forgotten the militaristic achievements that Nelumbo has? Would it be so easy to take something from the King of Nelumbo? The man who was and is known as an one-man army, along with his nearly equally powerful subordinates, all of whom have strong magic prowess?
The Emperor of Olinthus was truly delusional. That man doesn't even know a double agent when he sees one.
The man could only conclude that. Before he could step forth to retreat and "perform" his duties to the Emperor, he suddenly felt something brush past his ear, like a feather gently tickling him.
"Plan R."
That was all the man managed to barely hear from the tiny ball of wind, before it quickly lost the magic that it was charging it on and dispersed into the air.
He regretfully scratched his ear from the short spoken words, wishing they was longer. He quickly left the castle, completely coated from head to toe in a dark brown robe, thus being able to blend in with similar dressing pheasants. He hit his face twice, earning a few weird stares from the pedestrians. But, he did not mind.
He only had a sentence echoing in his mind: 'Focus Kallum, start Plan R, don't think about him now.'
Kallum quickly entered a bar to initiate Plan R as Galen had instructed him to do so: spread rumors of the wrong doings of Olinthus and the upper class. Not just what had Olinthus done to other countries, but also to its own people. Let the middle and lower class know they could have had a better life. Know that the upper class are abusing their power. Know that they have a right to be angry.
Many other spies are doing the same in many different countries. The hate and disgust for Olinthus was slowly fermenting and ready to explode.
