A YEAR AGO BEFORE THE APOCALYPSE
Eden had woken up again and then sighed upon remembering what she needed to do for the days ahead, surviving alone in the apocalyptic city.
She decided to just prepare and bring light food and water with her and then prepared to dress herself up and ready with weapons to tackle over and complete the plans and tasks she needed to do for survival.
She dressed in the same kind of dark black clothes as before. Hooded jacket underneath the thick fitted leather one, fitted running jeans or pants, running shoes, and bandana cloth around her neck to cover over her mouth and nose.
Then she prepared and packed in her backpack with bagged handmade sandwiches and two big water bottles inside it.
Finally, the weapons she has and brings along to defend and fight with are just sharp knives, two spears, and a handgun.
Eden also brought along an empty rucksack bag and folded it and put it inside her backpack in case she needed an extra bag to pack more stuff she needed to get.
Before leaving the barricaded apartment, she made sure that everything was safe and secure and double-checked her stock of food and water she has left--which she found will last her about one to two weeks staying there then Eden took a deep breath as if bracing herself to be brave out there and she walked out, closing and locking the door behind her.
Time passed by fast almost like a blur as three days go by and randomly, Eden came back and went forth going outside as she completed her tasks of finding and gathering supplies and then bringing them to the apartment.
It looked like it didn't take long for Eden to do this but she seemed to have managed it well and it wasn't until the final third day that Eden came back and looked like she was finished as she pulled and dragged in a heavy bag that is filled with guns and weapons inside it and then she shut and barricaded her door again, locking it tight and secure before she pushed the bag of weapons on the side and let it stay there.
Eden looked like she wanted to sort out all the supplies and weapons she had gathered and do inventory but she decided that she'll do it the next day and rest for a while as she went to her desk with a tired sigh and opened her journal which she had left behind in the apartment for the days she's been gone and went to write another entry of what she's been doing and had gone through.

JOURNAL ENTRY: 14TH DAY, 1ST MONTH JANUARY, YEAR 2XXX
Whew! Talk about extremely exhausting on a whole new level for me.
For three whole days, I've been busy doing and completing my priority number one for my survival during my stay here in this apocalyptic city.
That priority number one is Supplies and Weapons.
I've double-checked my stock of food and water and how much I have and how long it will last for me and fortunately, everything is already prepared and it will last about a week or two for my staying here in my apartment until I plan to move to another place that's more safe and secure.
Anyway, I managed to almost get everything I had searched and found and then gathered it all here in the city.
I'm sure you're wondering what and how I've been doing it so I'll try to write it down and make it simple and also write the important bits that I've gone through during those three days.
On day one, with the electricity out but still got my water running in the apartment which is a good thing, for the time being, I went to look for supplies that are the most important before the least important ones which are the flashlights, batteries, communication devices, multi-tooled devices like swiss army knives, binoculars, duct-tapes, medical first-aid kits, and survival stuff like that. Those things and also finding and getting a car I can drive around in the city.
It wasn't hard for me to find a car and somehow I'm lucky enough to find a good one, which looked to be a military-issued Inkas Sentry armored black vehicle. I was pretty much surprised that something like this was here and had gotten left behind, but I had known with my theory that the military would've been mobilized here in the city long ago.
It looked to have been abandoned in a hurry which seemed to be a very good finding for me. And the car still had gas in it with the keys inside too.
Either God himself was pitying me or somehow my luck has gotten good, but I didn't put my mind to thinking about it as I got myself a traveling vehicle I can use to get around. Even though I knew that this would be useful for me to leave and get out of the city. But I knew that it can't because of the limit on its gas and fuel. So this car would be able to be used only here inside the city but not for long travels or trips to the beyond outside it.
With the car that I found, I'd gathered up all the needed supplies and brought them back to my apartment, and also cautious of the surroundings and careful with my driving in case of any unexpected encounters along the way.
Then on day two, I went out the same as usual as before, finding and gathering supplies and searching for more weapons that I would bring into my home. The weapons I found weren't more guns as I had remembered that there was already a bag of guns before and I had hidden them, but I packed extra boxes of bullets and gun cartridges just in case. The weapons I had found and gathered were the silent ones, like compound bows, longbows, crossbows, and quivers of arrows in different sizes. The weapons included are sharp melee weapons like knives of big and small sizes, machetes, and spears that are more sturdy and strong than my handmade ones.
For one time, two or three zombies came at me while I was gathering supplies during those two days and my spear that was made from a mop broke into two pieces but my two-bladed spear still works.
On Day Three, the final day, I had to drive the car and go straight to the last destination I need to fulfill and complete. And it is going to retrieve the gun-weapons bag I had left behind and kept hidden.
On the street that I'm driving through and right when I was about to turn a corner, I braked to a sudden stop when something caught my eyes.
I used the binoculars that I had brought along on that day and looked through them and saw at a far distance from the street that I was about to drive through, there was whatever was left of survivors in the city. They were being attacked by a massive horde of zombies that were going at them. Though they had guns and kept on shooting, the group of zombies grew in many numbers because of the loud gunshots and they were about to be overwhelmed.
Their vehicles seemed to have run out of gas and they looked to be at their last stand as the zombie horde grew closer to them.
Don't even think about it. Don't look back or turn around. Just back off and drive away in another direction. Look out for yourself first than others.
Those are the kind of thoughts that were running through and repeatedly in my mind as I maneuvered the armored car swiftly but silently and turned it around and went on driving to another path, away from the sight that I have seen from a fair distance away. I ignored the shouts and screams from the survivors when they got overwhelmed by the zombie horde as I drove the car away.
It didn't take me long to find another path and reach the destination I finally managed to get to. I parked the car right next to the dark alleyway where the gun bag was hidden and I came out and went straight for the hiding place which is the garbage bin.
I almost flinched and backed away when the great stench of garbage waste struck my smelling nose, but I managed to hold my breath long enough until I got the heavy bag of guns out.
It was really heavy and hard to carry but I managed to drag it back to the car and haul it inside and then I drove away and went back to my apartment.
Now here I am, finished with priority number one which is supplies and weapons, now I just need to fulfill and complete my next one, which is priority number two - Food and Shelter.
So here's to more good luck and fortune for me and I pray that I'll be able to survive another day.

Eden stopped as she finished writing her entry and sighed tiredly. She looked back at the pile of supplies and weapons she had found and gathered and she decided to sort them out the next day after she had her dinner and then sleep and rest.
