CHAPTER 29 - Asians and Africans

*****

It was day two of the planned date and time, that Eden has made up to meet with the new survivors, even with the plans unexpectedly changed surprisingly and she had to act swiftly upon rescuing them all from the enemies they've encountered the day before in Z-city.

They are still there safe and secure at the temporary shelter in that abandoned clothing shop that Eden led them into, and despite the that only two people in the group of survivors still don't trust her, she didn't mind that as she helped them keep being safe from any dangers or threats that are lurking about, as Eden checked on her weapons, cleaning and maintaining them to good use and ignored the stares that are zeroing behind her back, both distrusting intensity and avid curiosity.

It also looked like Eden didn't mind the slight negative animosity coming from the two distrusting men, which turned out to be Asian brothers with long dark raven-black hair like they were a pair of martial arts fighters from the ancient past of their heritage or they're following their old culture and tradition on having their hair grow very long. One has straight sleek long hair and the other one, who appeared to be the brother, has braided dread-lock long black hair.

The other two men, which are four males of the group in total, are another Asian one but with a modern short hair-cut and the last one is a big muscled African bald-head male, his body built like he's a quarterback football player.

The rest of the group consisted of women and children. The children first, which are four of them, are two Africans and two Asians, in each pair are one girl and one boy. As for the women, there are two elderly old women each African and Asian, two African young women with one having wholly curly short black hair, making her look almost like a man except with a female body, and the other one has long braided dread-lock black hair, tied up in a pony-tail style. Then the last woman in the group is a normal American like Eden, but she has shoulder-length wavy red hair.

To whom the children belong, the Asian boy with normal short boy-cut hair belongs to the long-haired Asian fighter brothers, the Asian girl looked to be adopted and taken care of by the African woman with the pony-tail braided hair and the elderly African woman, and finally, the last African boy and girl belong to the other African young woman with the curly short hair.

The group of survivors that Eden rescued and brought to a temporary safe place at the clothing shop, were still staring behind Eden's back like they don't know whether their rescuer is truly a good person or not, even though the majority of them besides the two distrusting people, look at her like she's their savior or hero or something like that.

Eden kept ignoring them and she appeared to be giving off a fake vibe that she isn't aware of their stares right at her, because she must have known how they feel conflicted towards her. But it looks like Eden has a plan to gain their trust and show them that she's truly a good friendly person when she volunteered to them that she'll forage for more supplies like food and water since they were forced to abandon whatever they have left in storage at the previous shelter before or scavenged when they went out on runs in Z-city.

Obviously, two of them insisted on accompanying Eden to the supply run but she refused and instantly ran out of there before they were going to come with her whether she wants to or not, and shouted back to them that she'll be back soon and swiftly ran fast around a corner, disappearing before they could snap out of it and try to stop her from leaving them alone in that small shop building.

Eden had found and taken her chance upon running out of there, though she was serious on her promise that she'll find supplies for them since she knows this zombie-infested better than the new survivor group as she's been living there longer than them. So she went down the direction to where one of the other buildings had the important supplies that she needs, to show the group that she was a kind and good person.

While she's walking down the path to get there, not worried or concerned at all of any hidden dangers or lurkers from zombies or the living hostile kinds, she took out the hidden walkie-talkie comm on her person, called back to Safe Haven for her kids to know that she'll be coming home soon, returning with new people, that is the survivor group.

And after she does that, she switched the comm to the hidden journal she takes out from herself and quickly started writing another new entry into it before she gets to the supplies and then brings them back upon returning to the group. Though Eden still kept her guard up, her eyes sharply glancing about and around her as she walked straight to the path towards somewhere, while she writes in her journal.

JOURNAL ENTRY: DAY UNKNOWN, 10TH MONTH OCTOBER, YEAR 2XXX

Hey, it's Eden again.

It took almost a little longer than expected but I couldn't take the chance on taking out this journal as I was hiding it from 'them' and more importantly, I'm not taking the risk that one of them might get more 'curious' about me and snoop around all of my stuff and things that are with me visibly and then find the 'hidden' ones I have kept from them.

I know it's been only a day since I revealed myself and then rescued them from the shocking and horrifying ordeal they went through the previous day before at their shelter. But at least they trusted me enough to help them escape from it and bring them to safety in a slightly temporary new shelter.

Granted, the two men in the group still don't trust me as they looked to be the protective guardians and fighters in the group, and even when I showed them my good side, kindness, politeness, and all that, they still think that I'm hiding something bad inside me and I'll be luring them into a trap or something.

Understandable really, with what I think the male fighters' egos were a little scratched down since they were caught off-guard without warning by the hostiles that had attacked them and taken prisoner of them until I came and rescued them.

But still--sheesh! Could they at least tone down their staring glares?

It's almost making me a little more nervous than usual, like how I felt when I walk into uncharted territory upon exploring the entirety of Z-city when the zombie outbreak first happened and the apocalypse came.

Anyway, I'm sure you're wondering what kind of people the survivor group is when I rescued them.

Now that I have revealed myself and met them up-close and personal since the rescue incident.

They are a mismatched group of Asians and Africans.

Yes, that's right.

I was really surprised when I got a close look at them after they remove their protective covers from their faces, since the whole time when I was stalking and watching them, they had stuck themselves inside the previous shelter before and put on hoods, caps, and masks to hide away their faces like they think that the air around Z-city is still toxic and sickly contagious with the zombie-virus or something.

There are four men in total among them, three Asians and one African male. Two of them looked to be brothers and martial arts fighters with shocking long black hair, one of them having it dread-lock braided style. The third Asian man has a short boy-style haircut and appeared to be a model or rich-kind guy without a suit. And finally, the African male is bald but his whole body is big and tall and built like he's a real football player.

Next are the women. Two are old and elderly African and Asian women, the next two are young and appear like they're in their fit twenties or early thirties, and finally, the last adult woman is a normal American but with wavy shoulder-length bright red hair like fiery red.

Finally, there are the children and there are four of them. Two are African and the last two are Asian. The African boy and girl belong to the two sister-like young African women. The Asian girl appeared to be adopted by one of the two young African women. And finally, the Asian boy belongs to the Asian fighting brothers.

That's all there is to them, but so far, they haven't introduced themselves to me, sharing or giving me their names, because the two distrusting over-protective men had ordered them earlier to not tell me anything. After all, they still don't trust me to know about them.

Even though they are all unaware that I've been watching and stalking them since they first came to Z-city and all that.

But I don't mind because I'm going to show them my real good side and manners after I obtained and gathered the supplies for them, return upon bringing them back to the temporary safe place, and then talk to them in a nice conversation and offer them a good safer and more secure shelter, that is Safe Haven.

I had decided then and there when I rescued them after the incident the day before, that I'll bring them all back to Safe Haven as I now fully know that they are good people and I'll try to convince them that they can trust me as a good person and kind caring one, who can give them a place that's more safe and secure than what they've been sheltering them in so far.

I hope that I'll be able to do that, for I realize that it's the two male protectors that I need to convince and persuade to let their group come to Safe Haven without any animosity or negativity against me.

I sure hope that they'll listen to me, because it didn't feel right on leaving them behind and on their own, since they've been through a lot in a bad way, from the hostiles and Alpha-Z zombies before.

By the next entry in this journal, it will be an update about what will happen next, what will turn out with the survivor group after I talked with them and give them the offer, and everything else that might turn out good in the end and hopefully, not turn into a bad outcome.

Until then next time, this is Eden signing off.

*****

Eden finished writing on her journal and then hid it away at the same place where she hid the comm on her person, took a deep breath, and continued strolling and walking down the sidewalk, heading in the nameless direction where she is going to get the supplies for the new group of survivors that she's sheltering and caring for.

Just as she finally made it to the place where she knows where the untouched food and water supplies are, she started wondering and thinking deeply to herself about how the conversation will turn out, and hoping that the overprotective guardians will relent in listening to her and consider her offer once she shares it to the group.

Hopefully, it won't take too long, because Eden didn't want to go back and break her promise to her kids in Safe Haven upon staying out longer in Z-city and making them worry more for her while she's gone. Eden will try her best to convince the group of survivors but she'll have to give up if it turns out as a refusal in the end when the choice comes to that or not.

But Eden didn't know that when she shares her offer to the new group of people and brings them back to Safe Haven…something happens that will instantly make them trust her completely, be convinced fully and completely trust her as she is a truly good person as well as a fearsome fighting survivor like them.
