Chapter 19

Trinetta's P.O.V.

I don't think I would have ever recovered from the shock, my father looked murderous as he glared between me and Emery. I was waiting for the outburst.

"Trinetta Merez what is going on in this room? Who is this girl and what are you doing with her?" yelled my father, storming into the room. I shrunk away from his intimidating exterior. I knew that if I was too close while he was angry, he would hit me.

Emery moved forward to stand in front of me, shielding me from my father. He raised his eyebrows, then scowled. "Who is this punk?" he looked to me.

"She isn't a punk, she is my... girlfriend." I said in hesitation, afraid of what he would do, but wanting to stick up for my Emery.

His face turned to pure anger then. He strode around Emery and grabbed me by my arm forcefully and drug me off my bed to the floor. "What did you just say? She is your what?"

I winced from his strong and painful grip on my arm, I knew it was going to bruise but before I could yell out, his hand was gone. I looked up and gasped.

Emery had my father on his knees with his arms behind his back. She looked like she was ready to kill him, but then she spoke in a calm and dangerous voice. It made even me afraid.

"You will never touch her like that again, do you understand me?" she growled lowly. I began to feel angry and pure hatred settle into me. I knew Emery was on the verge of killing my father. My mother just stood in the doorway, her face in pure shock.

"Emery, he isn't worth it. Let him go." I said calmly, looking at her. Her eyes came to land on mine, and slowly I felt her anger subside in me, and she let my father drop to the floor. I watched him pull himself up, rubbing his already blue spotted arms. Emery moved to stand next to me, I stood up and took her hand in mine.

"Emery is my girlfriend and I love her. You can't stop me from loving her." I said sternly to my father. He looked like he wanted to kill me himself. But he eyed Emery in hesitation.

"You think I can't, well we will see about that. You're my daughter, my underage Daughter. You will do as I say as the law states. And you, Punk girl will leave my house this instant or I will call the police." he growled at Emery.

Before I could speak, Emery pulled me close against her. She stared at my father with a daring look. "I won't leave without her beside me. I won't let you hurt her."

Both my father and Emery had looks of murder upon their faces, so I did what I had to. I grabbed Emery and pulled with all my might. "Come on Emery, he isn't worth it. Let's go" but Emery barely budged.

"No, I want him to apologize for hurting you. Not just for today but for your whole life, because you leave here today, you're not coming back. And you deserve an apology from him. Seeing as no justice will be brought, he owes you that much." she growled, looking like she was fighting the urge to kill my father with everything she had in her.

I looked at my father, he looked like he couldn't comprehend that Emery just asked him to apologize to me. Anger was written all over his face. "How dare you ask me to apologize for disciplining my own child, I will do as I please and you or anyone else won't tell me otherwise. And she is going nowhere but a boarding school!" boomed my father.

I stood up, anger rising in me. "I am not. And Emery is right, you do owe me at least an apology for all the things you have done to me."

My father's face was purple, he then ran at me and grabbed me by the collar of my shirt, pulling me against him. I screamed as he smacked me sharply in the face.

"How dare you?" He growled.

I then fell to the floor in a blur. I looked up to see Emery holding my father against the wall by his throat. Her eyes were shining and I could faintly see the purple aura begin to flash.

"You will Never, and I mean, NEVER, touch her again. If you do, I will personally make your death very painful. Do you understand me?" she growled lowly, her voice raised on the word never.

My father's response to choking. Emery seemed to get a better hold of herself and dropped him to the floor, my father stayed where he fell. I watched in both fright for my father's and admiration for Emery's courage to stand up to the man who made my life terrible from the day I was born, as Emery bent down and spoke softly enough for only my father to hear.

Emery's P.O.V.

I bent down in a squatting position, glaring at the man I truly wanted to kill, holding back everything in me that wanted to kill him for the sake of the girl I loved. I looked him dead in the eye and spoke softly enough for only him to hear. His eyes looking like a deer caught in headlights.

"You ever come looking for her, or file a police report, or do anything stupid that could hurt her future, I will find you, and kill you. Don't even think of hiding, because I can smell out your filthy blood from anywhere. Got me?" I growled lowly.

"They will find you, I will tell them. You will go to jail," he said as the last retort. I laughed darkly, he wanted to be difficult. So this time, I learned in. locking eyes, and spoke in a calm and concentrated tone.

"You will tell no one of what happened here, nor will you look for your daughter ever again. She has moved on her own and is fine. You will live life normally as if nothing ever changed." after I saw that my compulsion worked, I let go of his mind, and stood. I turned to see Trinetta's stunned looking face, and her mother frozen in the doorway.

I walked quickly to her mother, I had to compel her to forget as well. I locked onto her eyes and caught her mind, slowly pushing her mind to follow my command. "You will forget everything that happened here, you will not look for your daughter who is living on her own and is fine. You will act as if nothing has ever changed."

I let go of her mind and she turned to go into another room. Once she was gone, I turned to Trinetta and helped her up. She stared at me wide-eyed. I didn't say anything, instead, I moved to get her clothes and help pack a few bags and then led her back outside to my car. After putting her bags in the back I got in and sped off back towards my house.

Trinetta sighed, taking my hand in hers, looking a little shaken up but slightly relieved. "Thank you. For not hurting them, or letting him hurt me."

I nodded. "I love you and I wouldn't do anything to hurt you or let you be hurt. So I just wiped their minds and let them be."

"So I officially live with you now?" she said with a smile. I looked at her, she seemed too happy about it. Not sad like I suspected. I nodded, smiling a small smile as well.

She giggled while squeezing my hand, "Do you think your mom will be upset?"

I frowned slightly. "Well I don't think she will be too enthused but hey she can't say anything, you're my mate, and I can't leave you. You're my one and true love forever."

Trinetta smiled, her eyes holding love. She leaned over and kissed my cheek softly then leaning onto my shoulder. I smiled happily as I watched the sunset, the light shining off the roofs of other cars flying by.

Once I pulled into my driveway though, the good feeling seemed to wear off slightly. I looked up at the house, a sick feeling settling into my stomach as I heard Trinetta open her door. In a whirl, I leaned over and grabbed the handle, pulling it shut. She looked at me, startled.

"Emery?" she asked

"Trinetta, I want you to stay right here. Something is wrong, and it might be dangerous." I said in a firm tone, trying to keep myself from panicking. He was here.

Trinetta shook her head, "No Emery, I won't let you go alone." she said determinedly.

I looked over at her. "Please Trinetta, I think its Rage, the vampire who kidnapped you. I have to make sure my mother is ok." I looked over to my mother's car in the driveway. My brothers weren't here., thankfully.

Trinetta grabbed my arm and stared at me with a stern and determined look. "Emery, I won't let him kill you, and plus what happens if he comes out here, we should stay together. Please?"

I sighed, "Fine, but if I tell you to run, you take these keys," I handed her my keys. "You get in this car, and you drive as fast as you can go somewhere safe until I contact you. Got it?" I spoke sternly. She nodded.

I turned to look back at the house, my senses going on high alert for any sign of danger. I slowly and quietly opened my door, going over to Trinetta and taking her hand, putting half of my body in front of hers so she was shielded. I listened carefully for noises as we walked slowly up the steps. When we got to the door, I leaned against it carefully.

No sound. I looked down and slowly turned the knob, it was unlocked. My mother almost never left it unlocked. I turned to Trinetta before stepping in, giving her one final look of meaning on what I told her.

Pushing the door open I cautiously walked in, listening and looking around me, the sick feeling was there in my stomach. But it wasn't as strong as it had been when I faced Rage the night he took Trinetta.

I held Trinetta close as I peered into the living and dining rooms, then the kitchen. Then I made my way upstairs. As I got to the top of the stairs, I found a long slash in the floor. A gasp came from Trinetta, and my own mouth was hanging agape at the almost four-foot long slash in the wood. I looked up and saw that there were similar ones on the walls. I pulled Trinetta closer to me as I continued up the stairs and looked around, finding more and more of the slashes. I also noticed broken glass and things turned over. It seemed to lead to my mother's room. And as I rounded the corner to her room, my mouth fell open in pure shock.

My mother lay on the floor dead. Her vampire body was cold and her skin looked ashen as if she had been burned but not severely enough to burn more then one layer. Her eyes were wide in shock. Her hands were bound by a tough looking chain rope. I looked around, not finding any sign of who did it to be here. The sickness faded with an empty, feeling, added to complete shock.

My mother was dead, she was gone. Never coming back. I would never speak to her again. I would never hear her say I love you to me again. She was gone. Dead.

As it dawned on me, I felt tears began to well up in my eyes and spill over, I couldn't believe my only parent who cared and loved me was gone. The only parent who stuck around to watch me grow and help me through things. Even though I acted like I never wanted her help, or never really cared, I did. And now she was gone. I didn't know what to do.

I felt warm arms wrap around me, Trinetta laid her head on my shoulder, pulling me against her chest. I turned and pulled her tightly to me, beginning to sob into her shoulder. She didn't say anything and neither did I, and I was glad for it. I had never shown any weakness in my life, until now.

There was only one time in my life I had cried, and it was when my father was sent to prison. And when he tried to kill me. When I realized he never loved me. Not for real anyways.

Today was the first time I cried in over seven years.

Slowly I calmed, it took a lot of soft-spoken words from Trinetta and self-control of my own to calm down. But it didn't make the empty hole in my chest fade. I felt so miserable, it hurt so bad that I couldn't bear to look at my mother's lifeless form. I wanted to block out the pain, I didn't want to feel this way.

As I looked up I saw a piece of paper sticking out from under my mother's bed, I pulled away from Trinetta and reached for the paper. It was a note to me.

Dear Emery,

You may have escaped me, but I will have you. You will Die one way or another Halfling. Even if it means that I take out everyone who is protecting you one by one. And I am starting with your Full Blood mother. Oh, and maybe you should take the time to read up on your history Young Halfling, there is much you don't know of yourself. It may surprise you.

Oh and Halfling, I am not the only one after you, I may be the first, but certainly not the last, I assure you. Be careful where you go and who you trust.

Sincerely, Rage.

I growled at the top of my lungs, my aura pulsed like a lightning bolt. I took the letter and tore it to shreds and let the pieces fall to the ground, I jumped up and began to pace.

"What was it?" Trinetta asked, getting up.

I tried to hold myself back from going on a frenzy, not wanting to hurt Trinetta. "It was that ball of slime Rage. He did it. It's my warning."

Trinetta gasped.

Slowly I felt the hole in my chest fill with fury, with Revenge, I would find him. I would find him and kill him with my bare hands. He was going to die.

"Emery? What do we do?" Trinetta stopped me and grabbed my arms. I sighed, trying to calm down. I thought about what I needed to do to end this, I couldn't let this continue to happen. If what Rage wrote was true about others coming, I couldn't stay here. I had to fight back.

I took a deep breath, knowing what I needed to do. I would need help because I had no idea what to do or where to start first.

I looked at Trinetta. "We are going to see Kaden. And I am going to figure out what this Prophecy really is."

It was time I knew the truth

I don't think I would have ever recovered from the shock, my father looked murderous as he glared between me and Emery. I was waiting for the outburst.
