Chapter 180: A little parting gift

The children were scared but I doubt they would be stupid enough to not know that they have a high probability of witnessing or doing what I am trying to teach. When the light of my Ten Hashira disappeared, the tension in the air died down and the kids that were held up by that tension fell to the ground. Momo, who gave me a sound argument, fell the hardest. I assured her that although it was a great argument, it was not the reason I chose to take Shigaraki's life. I undid the hold I had over the teachers.

Thirteen: What are you thinking, killing someone in front of the students?

Sage: I thought it was our job to prepare them for the future?

Thirteen: How are you preparing them by killing villains?!

Aizawa: He is giving them a lesson on the responsibility of heroes. You more than anyone should know what he trying to teach.

Thirteen: I understood everything, but we are not judges, juries or executioners. That is left up to the law.

Sage: Since you are so keen on this matter, let me relate it to you from this very incident. Shigaraki Tomura came here with the sole intent of killing All Might. Whether it was through killing or holding the students hostage, he was going to put them in grave danger to accomplish his goal, which was killing. Now, your quirk is a literal blackhole which can instantly kill someone but you were trained to save lives with your power. His power was just as dangerous, decay. So imagine him almost grabbing that girls face (Points at Tsuyu), what would have happened if I didn't intervene? Or would you rather be beaten down or even killed before using your power to take out an extremely dangerous villain and save multiple lives?

Thirteen kept silent as she knew she had no rebuttal. The children looked normal yet slightly shaken because I already asked them that question and knew what to expect but from Thirteen's reaction, one can tell she was never prepared to take a life despite having the power to do so.

Sage: If you have nothing more to say than keep your hypocrisies to yourself. By taking Shigaraki's life I practically saved millions if not more, lives.

Thirteen: Making murder sound righteous. How so?

Aizawa: Through the students, Thirteen.

Thirteen: Huh?

All Might finally broke his silence and swallowed a bitter gulp as he stepped forward and finished what Aizawa was trying to get at.

All Might: By saving, by saving the students, Sage-san made sure that their Hero Careers would be in tact. Not only did he stop a potential threat that could have taken many lives, by saving the students, who in turn will become heroes, through them, they will also save many lives throughout their careers because they were saved by Sage-san.

Thirteen: I understand but I will have to report it.

Sage: Do what you have to do.

While waiting for the police to arrive, I pulled All Might aside to give him the information I was withholding from the rest of the group.

All Might: I understood completely what you were trying to teach but was there really a need to kill him?

Sage: Was it something I said that struck a nerve?

All Might: The name you mentioned before Shigaraki Tomura, Tenko Shimura. My predecessor was surnamed Shimura. By any chance, are they…?

Sage: They are related. Shigaraki Tomura or Shimura Tenko, is the grandson of Shimura Nana.

All Might clenched his fist and grinded his teeth. He was seething as he grabbed my collar.

Sage: Do you really wanna do this in front of the students? I can take you somewhere if you are ready to see what Shigaraki went through and then try to understand that there was no changing him even in exchange for your life.

All Might let go and calmed himself. At the same time he started to sweat profusely while looking at his hand that grabbed me and felt an impending doom. He clenched his fist and shook the fear away. I closed my eyes, smiled and nodded at his growth. Later, after Thirteen tried and failed to throw me under the bus, I met up with All Might and gave him the entire reading I took from Shigaraki's mind. I knew it was much to take in as it concerned the family of his mentor so I left him alone to contemplate what happened.

After a while, I told Principal Nezu that I will be gone for a while and will occasionally return. Before I leave though, I will leave the students with an impression they will never forget. I suggested open exhibition matches with heroes who wanted to test their strength and end it with a revived All Might. Almost immediately, Principal Nezu agreed then made a few calls to heroes and called in All Might. At that moment Principal Nezu looked like Midoriya when he geeks out over heroes. I walked out and readied myself for the matches. Not to psych myself up or to empower myself but to try to not kill the opponents.

The next day all the students were called to the stadium that was going to be used for the games later on in the original story. The stadium was then closed off to all outside of the students, staff and those invited. All of the student body filled all the seats and when they were seated Principal Nezu made his way to the center of the stadium.

P. Nezu: ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS!! TODAY WE WILL HAVE EXHIBITION MATCHES BETWEEN SOME OF THE PRO HEROES I'VE INVITED AND THE MYSTERIOUS TEACHERS ASSISTANT, SAGE-SENSEI!!!

Students: Who?!

Class A students: WHAT?!?!?! Really?!?!?! HELL YEAH!!!!!!

Bakugou: Finally, I can see what that asshole can do.

Midoriya: Kat-chan, didn't you see what he was capaple of when he took out that villain? What are you trying to see?

Momo: What we saw was most likely a fraction of what Sage-sensei is capaple of. What Bakugou is likely looking for is a weakness to exploit.

Kaminari: Hahaha, he's looking for a way to not name himself Exploding Turd Nugget.

Bakugou: SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!!!!

Back at the center of the stadium.

P. Nezu: NOW, I WILL INTRODUCE THE PERSON IN QUESTION< SAGE_SENSEI!!

I adjusted my voice to replicate the speaker system.

Sage: HELLO LITTLE ONES. I AM SAGE, THE NEW TEACHERS ASSISTANT THAT PRINCIPAL NEZU HAS SPOKEN ABOUT. IT'S A PLEASURE TO MEET YOU. I WILL TAKE ON ANY AND ALL CHALLENEGERS THAT STEP INTO THE STADIUM. IF YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU CAN CHALLENGE ME, THEN STEP RIGHT IN AND IF YOU LAND A HIT I WILL GUARANTEE THAT YOU WILL LEAVE WITH A PRO HERO LICENCE. BUT FIRST, I NEED TO DASH YOUR DREAMS, YOUR HOPES AND WHATEVER LITTLE CONFIDENCE YOU HAVE. ALL IN ORDER TO BUILD YOU BACK UP GREATER THAN BEFORE.

P. Nezu: NOW THEN WE WILL BEGIN THE MATCHES!! WE WILL BEGIN WITH MT. LADY!!!

Sage: I'm sorry miss, but you are nowhere near ready to face someone like me.

Mt. Lady: Huh, and here I thought you would be excited to see me. Too bad.

Mount Lady has the quirk of gigantification, where she can turn herself into a giant thus raising her power, strength and reach but that is all. If she could turn body parts bigger like Choji from the Akimichi clan then her power would be more versatile and stronger depending on the situation. Too bad for her, she has no such control. From what I have witnessed of this universe is the fact that the majority of the people have an extreme lack of control of their quirks.

Mount Lady grew in size to her max and tried to slap me away with a right hand swing. I extended my left hand out and stopped her swing. A loud slapping sound echoed throughout the stadium along with the sound of broken bones.

Mt. Lady: Kyaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!! My hand!!!!!!!!

Sage: (Scratching my head) I told you. Please get out of the stadium and let the next challeneger in, or will you continue?

Mt. Lady: (While holding her hand) A real hero never quits!!

Sage: No, a pretend hero shows that they never quit while a real hero figures out what to do in order not to quit. You may have a bulls horns but that doesn't mean you should rush in like one.

Mt. Lady: You may be handsome but your words are poison.

Sage: Poison only to those who dislike the truth.

I gave Mt. Lady a classic Goku finish, where I cocked my fist back and jabbed at high speed to Mt. Lady's jaw, knocking her back and out. When knocked out, Mt. Lady returned back to her original size. She was carried off as I awaited for the next challenger.
