Chapter 8 - Restaurant Opening

Ren decided to quit school. He is already rich, going to school will give him no advantage, so he decided to become a full-time entrepreneur.

Luna's reaction is priceless when she heard about Ren quitting school. Luna gave him two hours of speech regarding how magnificent school is, but Ren's decision is final, so Luna can't do anything about it. She merely pretends to ignore Ren whenever she saw him.

-- Monday morning in front of Taste of Magic--

"This is our first day in business, make sure to do your work properly. Treat every customer politely, don't discriminate." Ren Stated while smiling gently.

"Yes, sir!" All the employees shouted.

The employees proceed to their station, numerous customers are already waiting outside the restaurant.

"Good morning, Sir and Ma'am, how do you want to be seated? Do you want to dine in a private room?" The waiter asked.

"We would like to, thanks." The man replied.

"Please follow me." The waiter politely said.

The day was very productive for the staff of Taste of Magic. Every guess has a satisfied smile on their faces showing that they are pleased with the service.

A girl, not more than ten years old, is staring at the restaurant. She is looking very malnourish and dirty.

The guard in front of the restaurant was very proud that he got accepted as a guard of this place. This restaurant looks very fancy, like a work of art. His pay is also quite high. He saw the filthy girl getting closer to the restaurant and block her path.

"Where do you think you're going?" The guard questioned the girl.

"I want a cup of coffee, Mr. guard. I saw in the flyer yesterday that this restaurant offers free coffee to anyone." The girl replied.

"Leave, before I use force." The guard mockingly said.

"Please, I don't need to enter. I only want something to eat." The girl begged.

Her mother abandoned her because she can't take care of them both.

She tried asking various establishments for food, but they forcibly dragged her away. She even tried to find a job but people ignored her and gazed at her like she was a pest.

People kicked her when she searched their trash for food, and the police completely ignored her. Some helpful people gave her their leftover food and drink. Most of the people ridiculed and mocked her. People treated her like a virus, but she doesn't have a choice. She bowed her head to them and swallowed her pride.

"Don't force me to drag you away, little girl." The guard seriously said, then spat on her face.

The girl is on the verge of crying, but calm herself down then proceed to leave.

"Wait!" Ren shouted.

The girl unconsciously looks back.

"What do you want to eat, Miss." Ren elegantly bowed his head to the little girl.

The guard was startled from the turns of the event. "Sir August, the girl doesn't have any money, the customer will leave if they've seen her in the restaurant." The guard explained.

"I don't want to hear a single word coming from you. We will talk later." Ren glared at the guard then look at the girl. "Little miss please follow me I will guide you to your seat." Ren took his handkerchief from his back pocket then gave it to the girl.

The girl received the handkerchief then followed Ren. "Mister, it is ok for me to be here?" the girl said. She surveys the restaurant and finds it mesmerizing. She finds her messy footprints staining the tiles then stares at Ren afraid of him getting angry.

Ren noticing her glance and says, "Don't mind it, the staff will clean it later." with a kind smile.

Knowing that Ren doesn't mind it, her little lips formed a small smile of relief.

Ren guides her to a four-person room with a t.v and karaoke. "Please enter the room, little miss, Because of the not so good scene earlier all the food that you will order today is on the house," Ren stated.

The little girl entered the room and once again shocked to see such an elegant design, she thought, that this is a fancy restaurant. She takes a seat and slightly moans at the softness of the chair.

The girl is all alone in the room and didn't know what to do next. Someone knocked on the door, and the girl quickly opens it. The mysterious man who helped her earlier entered then gave her a menu.

"This is our menu, young Miss. When you decide what to order, press the button near the wall, then the waiter will come and take your order." Ren explained, then continued. "For now, please receive this strawberry cake." Ren smiled gently.

"Why are you doing this? are you pitying me?" The girl asked.

Ren looked at her, he patted her head then said. "I'm Ren, by the way. Talk to me in my office after you finished eating. take your time." Ren opened the door and left.

The little girl, ordered just one dish, after eating she pressed the button then asked for the waiter to guide her to the Ren's office.

Ren already informed the staff to deliver the girl to him after she finished her meal.

"Sir August, the girl is here." The waiter declared.

"Please, enter." Jean lead the girl to the seat in front of Ren.

The girl seated, but her head is bowed down.

"Look at me," Ren ordered. the girl looks at him shyly.

"Let's start with the introduction. My name is Ren August, the owner of this place, and you are?" Ren asked.

"I'm Dianne Cross, mister. you can call me Dianne." The girl replied with a small voice.

Dianne reminded him of how Angel speaks to him on the first day of school and let out a chuckle.

"A beautiful name, Dianne, you remind me of my classmate. Do you want to work for me?" Ren questioned.

"I would!" Dianne instantly replied. You can see a smile on her face.

"Do you have any place to sleep?" Ren asked, then continued "If you don't, You can live at my house."

"If I will not be a bother, please take care of me." Dianne deeply bowed.

'It's illegal to hire a ten-year-old child though' Ren thought well let's give her a job, that's not a job.

"You will work as a personal maid for my sister at my house. I will work on all the necessary arrangements. You will start tomorrow." Ren said then he called Jean and said, "Mrs. Johnson, please deliver Dianne to my house and introduce her to my sister."

"Affirmative." Jean Replied. She holds Dianne's hands and walks with her, but before Jean and Dianne reach the door Dianne turned around then shout. "Thank you so much, Big brother Ren!"

after Jean and Dianne are gone, Ren thought. 'Mrs. Johnson is really fond of kids. Well then, time to talk to the guard ' with a smile.
