How to Treat Poisoned Status in the Other World

The slime jiggled like its panicking as it saw the fang marks. Ryuji looked at his arm that was bitten earlier and it showed discoloration. His skin color was dark green, but the bite area had darker hue from his skin color and almost black. He also noticed also the discolored area was creeping as if signifying that the poison is spreading. He remembered that documentary show from an animal channel back on Earth about venomous snakes and their bite victims. That show made him sleepless for a few days as snakes brought him nightmares. Now he is in the same situation with those victims and much worse. An unknown venom in a fantasy world is some shitty situation to be in. Back on earth, antivenin was produced and needed to be administered at a critical time. He looked at his veins that were affected were showing the same signs of discoloration and bit of swelling.

Ryuji conjured spell. The spell was a combination of identify to check a condition. He stumbled upon it when hunting a survivor of the first group of rabivore the other day. It kept attacking anything insight. When he used it gave the same information when he first encountered a rabivore. That is when he came up with which he focused on the fluctuation of mana that he noticed upon identifying the creature. He noticed that it was afflicted by something as when he cast to identify the creature the usual elliptical aura of a creature was moving erratically in a specific pattern. He can feel has some ripples from it from time to time. He attempted to manifest his will to check the ripple effect which caused him to learn . His mana probed on the erratic movements of the aura.

A voice responded

Running out of options, Ryuji used on himself to see the effect of the spell. He hopes that it might help him in a way, but he doubts that status effects like this will instantly be cured by a universal spell. RPGs usually have different items to treat different statuses, it was a basic knowledge to gaming and read small details to isekai manga except for those pharmacists that had transmigrated. After a few breaths, he saw that the discolored area shrunk and reduced the swelling, but he could still feel general weakness. The venom is still within his body. The fang marks are still present and showed no signs of being healed. At this point, he felt he could reset its growth with at least. Hopefully, he does not run out of mana. He has not learned any spell that could cure this. He felt he expended a decent amount earlier.

Ryuji also needed to seal whatever his hiding from the tree stump. "Pyun-Pyun, collect all the dead snakes." He ordered and the slime obediently complied. He gazed at the rabivore carcass they initially hunted and finally landing his sight on the dead stump behind it. All this time, whatever is inside it, have not reacted with the fight that broke out. He was thankful for that, but whatever it is based from the details given by , he needs to seal that stump. He did not bother to use as he thought it might provoke whatever creature inside the stump and better to launch a preemptive attack to it. They need to flee the area soon, but he could not leave whatever resides there a chance to pursue them. He walked cautiously near the lifeless rabivore and pressed his hands on the ground. He gathered his energy once more and concentrated to project the targeted area. He concentrated his imagination to bury the stump.

As the energy increased, he suddenly felt that an ominous gaze looking back at him, threatened by what he was doing. He also felt weaker by the minute as the venom starts to spread. He used the malicious gaze as his benchmark and overpowering it was the goal of the magic he was attempting to cast. When he felt his energy was enough to overpower the threatening gaze, he shouted, "!!"

A rock wall quickly rose up covering him and the rabivore body out of the malicious gaze and moved like a wave in a sluggish way covering the tree stump like a tsunami. It covered the stump with a mixture of soil particles and then hardened. The tree stump was barely recognizable and looked similar to a brittle termite mound at the moment.

He heard the familiar chime

Ryuji felt very weak and then casted to at least reset the venom from spreading again. They needed to quickly go back to their base and possibly hole up for now to deal with the venom. He has not learned any cure spells, nor he does not have any anti-venom. An antidote can be concocted but he has not learned any pharmacology skills which he should have asked back in the divine realm. He regretted not asking for it. He mocked his own survival skills.

They travelled back and he tried to identify herbs on the way and picking them up if it can stop the venom, restore his mana or health. Pyun-Pyun obediently picked up whatever his master directs. He watched him cast heal every now and then.

They reached the cave by after mid-day. They took double the amount of time traveling. Ryuji was cursing all the way back. 'Why do I have to experience this?' He thought and wallowed on the fact that he should have been more careful. He blamed himself for being inexperienced and unprepared. "Pyun, take out the vipers." Ryuji ordered the slime weakly. He is a bit feverish. He attempted to cast but it only alleviated the venom's symptoms and reset it's time to spread to his body.

The slime jiggled and it took out from its body the five dead vipers. Ryuji looked sickly at this point. He felt its slowly whittling away his life. "After a few days of being reincarnated, is this how will I die?" He muttered.

The slime seemed to hear that he was gloating. It made shaking movements in sideways motion as if telling Ryuji 'No, you won't die master!'. It grasped its tentacles to his master as if telling him something.

Ryuji chuckled. He found this little guy to adorable. He was facing death and this little guy was comforting him. He felt a little sad to know that this guy will be left fending for himself if he died. He is exhausted. After five years, he will die again after a few days. But he was surprised when Pyun-Pyun bounced dragging the body of one of the vipers to him. It made a series of gestures of eating the head.

It suddenly hit Ryuji. The slime's idea was radical but not bad. "That's great Pyun-Pyun!" Ryuji exclaimed. The idea of building poison resistance by using his unique skill , isn't a great one but it's the only thing available at this point. The venom was injected into his arms that's why he can't learn from the venom. But utilizing his unique skill might increase his resistance by learning it. He felt a glimmer of hope. This familiar of his is not only cute but also has a nucleus equivalent to a genius!

Ryuji ordered the slime to take out some of the herbs to restore a bit of mana if in case he needs to heal himself. He started to eat the head of the snakes. He began eating the battered one that bit him earlier. At this point he could not care if its raw or cooked, what matters is his survival.

< already learned, diverted to increase resistance… Increased in Disease Resistance… learned> the familiar voice resounded in his consciousness.

Ryuji thought glanced at the bitten area and it looked like slow to spread. 'Damn, the skills have instantaneous effect in this world' He cursed. These skills are too overpowered to have an instant effect. Also, it seemed that the skill for poison resistance has a stack effect.

He ate two more snakes, no new learned skills. But it kept repeating the poison resistance being increased. He wondered about these vipers, are they really that venomous? He remembered that his poison resistance is mid-level but being affected by the venom was already tough on him. He ate the last two including the bigger viper that blocked them from escaping. The voice was like music to his ears.

The voice resounded < learned. already learned, increasing skill resistance… increasing >
